  5. Micromax E 360

I have used the GSM version H360 with MTNL 3G connection. The default browser is crap, but Opera mini and Bolt were more useful. The email client can be configured with POP3/SMTP. Most of the JAVA apps got installed without any problem. It worked well as a modem using USB cable, but was not able to use it as a modem with bluetooth.
  6. Indian Railways Near Bankrupt

The biggest increase in freight rates during Lalu regime was in foodgrains freight. About 69% increase in 18 months. Now considering that most movement of foodgrains is paid out of Food Subsidy, it amounts to taking from one pocket and putting in other. It only created profit for railways by increasing deficit on the Union Budget.
  7. Indian Railways Near Bankrupt

The main means of increasing profit during Lalu regime was the innovative way in which passengfers were robbed in the name of tatkal scheme. They increased the tatkal time to 5 days (against earlier 2), reserved 10% of all berths (against earlier scheme of 2 berth per coach) for tatkal, created a waiting list category for tatkal and introduced the up-gradation scheme with resultant vacancy again going to tatkal. Now, if we keep in mind that under tatkal no concessions are applicable, the fare is charged from the train's initial to final station irrespective of the number of stations actually travelled, in addition a minimum additional charge of Rs.150 (for sleeper) and Rs.300 (for higher classes), its quite easy to compute the amount of money robbed from the hapless passengers who were forced to buy tickets under tatkal that were earlier available at normal rates. Now thankfully, the robbing in the name of tatkal has stopped.
  8. Indian Railways Near Bankrupt

Indian Railways is not a Company. It is a Department of the Govt of India and part of the Ministry of Railways. While a wholly owned Govt. Co. (where Govt. liability is limited to the value of the Shares subscribed) can definitely go bankrupt, a Govt. Department can not go bankrupt on its own. Its fate is linked to the Govt. itself.
  9. The MTNL/BSNL variant by Apalya (the third party service provider for all Mobile TV) does not work on android. Any idea whether Reliance version works or not?

  15. Micromax Eg333 Gsm+Cdma Dual Sim With Evdo

Seen it on the Micromax website last week. Given the Photon+ branding, it is also expected to be officially offered through TATA outlets. Only concern is that the Screen is expected to be a resistive one. Still looking for a handset with GSM 3G and CDMA dual SIM.
  16. The Private operators (Docomo/Reliance/Airtel etc) are restricted from offering Video call for the present by the Govt. security agencies. Only MTNL and BSNL is offering this facility. I'm having a MTNL 3G connection for last 1 year and frequently make video calls (local/STD) between MTNL/MTNL and MTNL/BSNL no. Voice clarity is very good. video quality is similar to what you see on a web-cam based video chat with a PC.
  17. Resistive Androids: Stay Away From These

Presently the only capacitative touchscreen @ 10K is Spice Mi300 with 3.2 inch HVGA Screen, 5MP camera with flash and Android 2.1 Around Diwali they were also offering a 2.5 K QWERTY Dual SIM Handset (QT-50) free with it. Don't know whether the offer is still there.
  18. Can you PM me the contact No. I might be able to provide them with some business.
  19. Reliance Communications Launches 3G Mobile Services

The difference would be in terms of pulse rate. In case of default plan, every time you access data, even for 20/30 KB, 50p would be deducted. In volume plans, the pulse rate is expected to be much smaller. My personal experience with Delhi MTNL 3G is that in default plan pulse is 10KB and in volume based plan its per KB. I'm right now sitting in Indirapuram, Ghaziabad. On manual search on WCDMA only mode able to see the following networks, 1. Dolphin (MTNL) 2. INA Airtel 3. Reliance

  23. Samsung Mpowertxt M369

does this phone allow installation of JAR/JAD files from the memory card?
  24. Spice Mi300 is 3.2 inch capacitative screen with 5MP camera. Micromax is giving 2.8 inch resistive screen with 3.2MP camera. Micromax seems to be the more over priced one.
