No information in main BSNL website. BSNL Chennai and BSNL Kolkata are treated as separate profit centres and has certain level of independence in offering of tariffs. So this offer could be limited to Chennai circle only. -
Mumbai's Death Trap: 10 Railway Commuters Die Per Day
commonman replied to kshah's topic in The Lounge
People try to cross the tracks even when there are over bridges, People hang at the doors or get on to the roof instead of waiting for the next train, People jump level crossings, all just to save a few minutes. What really comes out of all the information above is that the life in Mumbai have become so mechanical and fast that every day 10 persons are committing suicide in Railway properties and people of Mumbai have become so insensitive that they no longer even care. -

TATA Docomo Launch 3G Services on Diwali
commonman replied to rahulmalik_81's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
^^^ So do MTNL, BSNL, MTS, TATA Indicom and any other Indian service provider offering Mobile TV. But Full version Apalya software is not compatible with Android and Android users would have to be satisfied with a stripped down version available in the Android Market. -

Spice Launches Mi300 - Android Based 3G Handset
commonman replied to commonman's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
^^^ The handset comes with Andriod 1.6 But anyone with only basic knowledge of Internet and practically no knowledge of Smartphone or Anroid would be able to download and upgrade to 2.1 in about 20 mins. I have seen the handset in operation with MTNL 3G connection. The user was himself able to successfully upgrade to 2.1 the day of purchase. It does not have video call facility. But after installing Skype, it is possible to do Skype VOIP and Skype Out calls directly (I have seen Skype not working in some other handsets). GPS also seems to work well with the location of the handset showing in the Map fairly correct. Spice has now increased the official price to Rs. 10500 The build quality seems a little doubtful though. -
