commonman replied to Harshal's topic in Other Broadband Discussion
So far only BSNL seems to have stayed away from FUP -
^^^ If the WW guys does not react possitively, as a last option, just file and FIR with the local PS saying that your phone has been lost (simple job as long as u don't say it got stolen), take a copy of it to the nearest WW with your other set and get the number transferred.

It is possible. but only if you use wifi connectivity. Assign one computer as the primary computer and connect to the net from this computer. Also connect printer, scanner and any other device to this. Now connect other computers to this primary computer using wifi and allow itnernet and printer sharing. As long as the primary computer is connected, the others would also be able to connect to the net. In case your PCs do not have wifi device, you would require to purchase USB wifi dongle for each of them (around Rs.1000 each)

^^^ Simple. Call your voice mail no. and record a new message. old one gets automatically replaced. As for the present case, the person must have set unconditional call divert to voicemail and records a new set of "gali" as his voicemail msg everyday.

How is this equation? This is new maths for me. How is 1kbps=8kbps? Wow!! If this is the case, then my download speed would be 5000kbps=5mbps on my cable modem. I would have been partying then. its not 1 kbps = 8 kbps its 1 KBps = 8 kbps (Pl. Note the CAPITAL letters. they have a specific purpose and meaning) just like there is Kilogram (Kg) and gram (gm) and 1 Kg = 1000 gm (10^3 in decimal system with base 10) in binary system there is Byte ( B ) and bit ( B ) and 1 Byte = 8 bit (2^3 in binary system with base 2) so 1 Byte ( B ) = 8 bits Download speeds are always measured in kiloBytes (KB) and bandwidth are always measured in kilobits (kb) Hence 1 KBps = 8 kbps assuming 1 KBps and 1 kbps means the same thing is like sayin that 1 Kg is qual to 1 gm. Its a common mistake. most people say that they have taken a 2 mbps connection but getting a download speed of around 200 kbps only. actually what they mean is that they are getting a download speed of around 200 KB/sec which is around 1600 kbps.
-
^^^ yes, getting such speeds, particularly when on the move, would be really wonderful.
-
^^ I thought 3 mbps = 1024 x 3 i.e. 3072 kbps ? 353 KB/s would be around 2.8 mbps as against 3.1 mbps advertised
-
^^^ My friend, I think u are confused between kbps and KBps 1 KBps (kilo Bite per sec) = 8 kbps (kilo bit per sec) so 353 KB/s = 353 x 8 i.e. 2824 kbps

^^^ Bluetooth also uses radio frequencies. so radiation in bluetooth device is also significant. A good old fashioned wired headphone has the least radiation effect.

BSNL EVDO was soft launched in 2007
-
^^^ Technically EVDO wihout Vioce service (particularly through a Datacard) is not 3G mobile service. Its a wireless internet service provided by an ISP. Reliance holds an ISP licence in addition to a Mobile service provider licence.

Reliance Netconnect Broadband Evdo (with High Speed Evdo Data Cards) Coming Soon!
commonman replied to P. K. Daga's topic in Data services
BSNL EVDO datacard (without voice & restricted mobility) is Rs.550/mth for unlimited as against Rs.1750 for R-CDMA EVDO datacard (without voice & full mobility). So Reliance is Rs.1200 more but has full mobility. -
ROI = Rate of Interest Any lump sum payment means u are blocking that much funds for that period of time in advance. It has an interest cost from the point of the customer and an interest income for the service provider. So any calculation must consider the interest cost factor also. (its something like a reverse EMI or Annuity - you pay in advance at the start and then get the benefits of equal value over a fixed period of time.)
-
One factor that has not been considered is the ROI. We are required to make upfront payment for benefits that are going to accrue over a period of 13 years. Lifetime pack 199 Lifetime jadoo 550 500Mins Every Month For Lifetime 4444 Total upfront payment : 199+550+4444=5193 for 13x12=156 mths Assuming ROI @ 12%, the per mth cost comes to Rs.67 Plus 6 mthly recharge Rs. 200 or Rs.33 per month. So total cost of pack is Rs.100 per month. or Rs.3.33 per day 16.66 min RIM to RIM STD/ Local +( 2.22 min any local calls OR 1.11 min any STD call ) per day = Rs 3.33 per day + All Local calls to any network Rs. 0.50 + All STD calls to any network Rs. 1.00 + All Incoming & Outgoing calls while roaming Rs. 1.00 However, that is still a very good plan.
