In my case when I took the JPO SIM, they refused E-Aadhar and accepted Voter ID card. They were also accepting Driving Licence. -

JIO SIM without LYF handset
commonman replied to vishalgupta171's topic in Reliance Jio 4G LTE (Prepaid & Postpaid)
Jio Join needs either 4G LTE phone + Jio SIM or 2G/3G phone + Lyf/Jio mifi router. Jio SIM can not directly work in 3G/2G phone as it is pure LTE based. -

I have MTS CDMA postpaid 40 GB @ 999 + tax. That works out to about Rs.29/GB. Speed is about 4-5 mbps. Jio even at highest pack is costlier. Just hope that MTS will continue, fingers crossed. -

@LTE4G the so called WIFI data is only available when there is a Jionet public hotspot available. In Kolkata it is available only in 2 places about 1 KM stretch in each case. Speed is dismal. So it can never be taken into the equation until the coverage of such public wifi hotspots increase. -
After seeing the Jio rates, we now know why stopping RCom CDMA and its great plans was so much necessary.
-
If I remember correctly, in the SIM Pack it was written default data rate 0.05/MB. So after exhausting pack, will additional data be charged at that rate? Then it works out to about Rs.51/GB.

I just followed the steps indicated in the document earlier shared. 1. Connected HR3400 with my laptop using LAN cable 2. Configured laptop IP manually 3. Logged into router page via browser 4. Activated AP mode from Wireless tab, Wireless repeater option 5. Clicked Survey button, searched and connected to my Wind4 wifi SSID 6. Rebooted router 7. Again logged into router page via browser 8. Created new SSID through Wireless tab, Wireless basics. 9. Rebooted router 10. Disconnected LAN cable and connected to new SSID via wifi. I do not have Jio Mifi but its working fine with Wind4.

On roaming at Ranchi today. Data working. But call and sms not working. Anyone else had faced similar issues -
Deactivate all data plans and only continue with your voice plan. Switch to Jio for data.
-
Many existing customers are still having 40 GB for 999 postpaid plans with Rev.B speeds. For them, it is still the better option than Jio.
-
@invisiblebond Have no experience with HR1400. But HR3400 is working fine.
-
lets just hope that MTS continues

@dkaile ji This document is for a different model but works also for this model. I can get signal in my 3BHK flat at 2nd floor and even downstairs till about 25 mtrs. How-to-Configure-in-Repeater-Mode-DG-HR1400.pdf

RCom has differentiated 3G/2G and 4G. 4G data packs do not wotk on 3G and 3G data packs do not work on 4G. In contrast, for Airtel and Vodafone the same pacl work for 4G, 3G and 2G. Rcom wants you to activate 4G data pack and then keep data on. They know that most of the time only 3G/2G will work and they will be able to charge the data use against main balance. Request all not to activate any 4G data pack till Rcom removes this discrimination.

You need to explore other options including port out.
-
Network settings are dependent on handsets.
-
you will not be able to make/receive any voice call if you select only LTE mode. You will be charged for data if you select auto mode and the phone switches to 3G/2G due to poor 4G signal. Seems like a trap.

All Samsung 4G phones? Can you share any available link? Edit: Its available in Jio website https://www.jio.com/preview/partner -
@dkaile ji I am presently using Digisol HR3400 in repeater mode with my Wind4. Working quite well. It permits assigning a different SSID to the repeater so devices can specifically connect to the repeater.
