299 all india minutes + 1 GB for Rs.299 is not such a bad offer. But they messed up in the next one. Should have been 499 minutes + 2 GB for Rs.499. Most normal customers would have opted for that.

I am still on preview offer period and recharge option is not displayed in MyJio. There is one "recharge another number" option but that requires a valid Jio number other than mine.

Is it possible to convert to prepaid from a roaming location or do I need to be at the base location?

How to deactivate the atrocious 4G data packs of 1GB@300 (Delhi) and 1GB@250 (Kolkata) that has been forced on to postpaid connections as "upgrade"

I am getting 8-10 mbps speeds in Kolkata in Rcom LTE and 7-8 mbps speeds in JIO, both indoors.

I am on postpaid connection and earlier was using about 3-4 GB data per mth on CDMA. so their system must have generated a flag.

Received a call today afternoon "Sir you have upgraded to 4G and you are also using smartphone but you have used very little data, is there any problem you are facing" Told the fellow that I dont even get any network inside house. he noted my address and said that the complaint would be sent to their network team.

Completely useless plans. Reason to either port out or switch to prepaid.

What would be important is whether data would be separately charged for video access or not. 3.25GB for 275 is not that bad otherwise.

@LTE4G 4G network seems to be OK in Kolkata also. But the problem is, for voice call it switches to 2G, which is beyond pathetic.

Vodafone will never let you go once you are in their clutch. Airtel is slightly better that way.

In GSM 3G the USSD code string *777*<pack value># works. My 4GLTE prepaid SIM is not getting any data, not even 2G so must be needing a "patch". So can not try the option.

Band is Hardware dependent. SIM patching is required where hardware supports necessary band but due to some software/firmware problem in SIM, it can not get certain services. No level of SIM upgrade can get you data if you do not have a phone that supports it. The initial lots of 4G SIMs, mostly with 04/2016 manufacturing date, have problems with data connection and require to be "patched" before they can get data. But if 2G/3G data is working, then SIM is ok.

are you able to get data on 2G/3G? if not, your SIM may need to be patched.
