  1. @Genius - I think Matrix will be best. I used them recently for Europe. No upfront charges. Gave them credit card copy. Got bill of fixed charge of about 500/- which includes about 200 minutes of incoming free in Europe/UK. Had to make some emergency calls to India. Total bill was about 1000/- They must have some similar scheme for US. Also why don't you use your smartphone with wifi and skype. I did this also as in Europe especially France, wifi was free. So I just charged my skype credit with 10 Euro (700/-) and made calls via wifi to landlines and mobiles in India at very very economical rates. Even after speaking for about 2 hours (total) I still have 3.5 Euro left in my account.

  3. Kindly try adding photos, price and links for usefulness to the readers... Otherwise it serves no purpose.
  4. Movies That You Loved (Or Hated) - Part II

Django Unchained (2012) - 4.5 Star Rating - Tarantino's classic. Quentin is growing from strength to strength. He has tried his hands at each and every genre' of films and now it's his turn to do his ode to his own brand of Western/Comedy. And what a style he has. But in the end its a love story. Don't miss him blowing himself up in the climax. That made my day... Not to be missed.
  5. I have had a very bad experience with snapdeal.com . I had ordered a MHL HDMI adapter that Sumit had posted from them. It was a piece of Callmate JUNK. Did not work with any of my phones. Sent it back on my own expenses. And they had the nerve to return back the exact same defective item back to me after 15 days of waiting. Now they are dilly dallying when I am asking for my money and courier charges refund. They are bloody CHEATS. I would advise people to stay away from snapdeal.com.
  6. I got my extreme guard for note 2 within 7 days मेरे सैमसंग गैलेक्सी नोट २ द्वारा भेजा गया...
  7. @Rajan - Any great deals on entry level laptop like the Fujitsu (http://www.homeshop18.com/fujitsu-ah532-vfy-ah532mpaa5id-intel-core-i3-2348m-4gb-500gb-15-6-laptop/computer-peripherals/laptops/product:30512975/cid:3291 ) or the Asus X53U (http://www.infibeam.com/Laptop/i-Asus-C60-Dual-Core-Laptop/P-CA-L-Asus-X53U-SX181D.html?id=Brown ). I had previously got the Asus one for around 17K, but I am also open to a Fujitsu spec laptop (i3/4gb/500gb) for around 21K that it was for recently.
  8. Lets Ask Arun

^ Yes, that issue is coming. The "Just items I follow" gets ticked by itself sometimes without our choosing it and then you will be unable to see any new content. I have faced this issue several times last week and each time I just go and untick it to see the new content. Seems that option has taken a mind of its own recently.
  9. The Fujitsu Laptop listed above seems like a very good deal for the hardware included!! Don't know why more people are not excited by that deal. BTW how's the purchase experience from Homeshop18 as I do not have any prior experience with them?
  10. ^ The quote from ishop is current one got yesterday after duty increased and valid for next 5 days. The 24.5K landing cost is as on date with all hassles being there's and payment in Rs. not is USD so no extra charges on CC payment. Please don't question the other person's intelligence by posting unresearched comments.
  11. Getting your own Nexus 4 16GB at about 22K - Alternatively you can get it through ishop international where I was quoted 24.5K and without the hassles of all of the above. (Thanks Rajan Mehta)
  12. EVDO blackout in majority of Delhi?

I am getting Evdo albeit ver. A, in Meerut. Server is Delhi.
  13. I recently got a S2 (Epic Touch 4G) from Sadikk at 12K. That's a cracker of a deal for a handset of that class. I also had got a Photon 4G for my daughter at 13.5K but I feel that the S2 is a much better handset.
  14. Buying a new car? Discuss here!

^ Congratulations Anton. Do post a review with lots of photos especially of the HU and its functionality.
  15. Samsung Galaxy S3

Same here. After having played with custom roms for so long, I now prefer to remain stock and unrooted for my peace of mind...
  16. Advice for buying LED / 3D / Smart TV

Overall you will enjoy a Samsung much more than a Sony. Same like Android more than iOS. Sony is unable to play many mkv's through its USB port while a Samsung is all format ready and can play directly from a 2~3TB HDD. I can also contest the claim that Sony has better picture quality but eventually beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder. I feel that Samsung is a better bet IMHO.
  17. Please suggest tablet for children

I would suggest you increase your budget to 11k and get the Samsung Tab 2 311 with wifi for complete peace of mind and reliability instead of these chines junk.
  18. Movies That You Loved (Or Hated) - Part II

Do banana's float on water? Are there flying fish? Do algae consume flesh? Has anyone spent more than 227 days (that Pi did) adrift in the sea? Is there bio-luminescence in the seas? And the answer to all of the above in real life is YES. So Ang Lee and Yann Martel have left it upon the viewer/reader (us) to decide whether all that did happen was plausible or not? Whether we want to always be rational in our thinking or do we sometimes like to think with our hearts? I, for one, would like to think with the heart in this case just like the Japanese investigators, and believe in Pi's original story.
  19. Movies That You Loved (Or Hated) - Part II

Life of Pi (2012) - 4.5 star rating - Rarely does such a film come along that is stunning visually and for the mind. It is sad to see that most Indian themes are made brilliantly only by foreign directors. Indian film makers 'mostly' stick to the theory of making films for stimulating the groin rather than the heart. Not to be missed under any circumstances. Skyfall (2012) - 4 star rating - I was not impressed when I saw this in the theatre. But a BD rip was another thing all together. It is one of the best Bond flicks now that I see it in hindsight. Brilliant sound (must see in Dolby 5.1) earned it the Oscar. Very realistic Bond. PS - Both reviews are for BluRay prints in a home theatre projector setup. Ratings would be otherwise because you can never watch in so much detail in any movie theatre.
  20. Must Have Android Apps For Your Smartphone - Part II

^ Excellent application. Transliteration has made Hindi so easy. Doesn't work with Swiftkey though... on Note 2 Doesn't work on Motorola Photon 4G totally. Works on Nexus S 4G 3 phones tested.
  21. Why not have a look at Galaxy Tab 2 310 with 3G instead of ipad 2, now at a killer street price price around 13~14k- http://www.rimweb.in/forums/topic/26736-ipad-alternatives/?p=286681
  22. Water Proof Handsets

100$ Waterproof upto 30 minutes in 1 metre of water. US Army Spec. http://www.engadget.com/2013/02/26/kyocera-durapro-keeps-the-rugged-flip-phone-alive-on-us-cellular/
  23. Movies That You Loved (Or Hated) - Part II

Argo (2013) - 3.5 star - Gripping screenplay and taught direction by Ben Affleck. He's grown into a man from the boy he was. Lincoln (2013) - 3 star - Presumptuous and self glorifying ode by Spielberg to the man. Daniel Day Lewis was good but not brilliant. There were better Oscar nominated stars than him but then that's politics. Sent from my Note II
  24. Best Of Internet

It may not be the BEST of Internet but its a video shot by me. Location : Jungfrau, Switzerland at 11000 feet, quite difficult to breath and temperature that day was -23°C. Shot on : Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note II CDMA It was my 2nd attempt to face -23° C cold at Jungfrau, Switzerland which finally met with success. My wife couldn't complete it due to the extreme cold and lack of breath. It is the highest point in continental Europe. It was bone-chilling but an exhilarating experience, which one can never forget in life. The photos were taken by a Korean friend on Galaxy Note II (whom you can also see in the end of the video). The chilling wind can be heard in the video and also seen by the snow blowing on top of the hill. Don't miss the victory shout at the end. http://youtu.be/FVti0jKFizM Hope you feel the effort was worth it... It was for me.
