^ I can use the long press of the end key in PRO (mind this pls, donno abt diamond, but should be same) on original sprint rom to end data. I can also set it to either of these other options - 1. Turn Airplane mode on or 2. Lock device or 3. Terminate data connection (as I told u) or 4. Set Vibrate or 5. See this Quick List to choose according to my need from the above options...

U should go for renowned brand like INTEL original... any of their G series ones... according to ur budget; there may be similar offerings in Asus also, which i think is a very good deal...but I thin k the Asus made for India model that I have mentioned in the first post gives u a very good choice and price, even though it may be support ddr2 and not ddr3... -
^ but some people have been able to use it directly on prepaid also... some system glitch and varies from circle to circle... some one told me that they were able to use seamlessly in delhi on prepaid also...

I agree with the above review fully.... and dont feel its biased...phone usage varies from person to person.... whatever I am at ease with, the other person might not be.... so its in my view ONLY...

A brief review of Sprint Touch Pro which i found on CNet which nearly resounds whatever I feel as I too was upgrading from the Mogul - http://reviews.cnet....33248637-2.html I would like to add - beautiful motion sensor, WiFi I use very much and its great, great TV Out feature (I have used it), Fantastic Voice Commands, Ease of putting custom roms like Mighty which are highly stable and provide better battery life, syncing all my data on a click of a button to google server (gmail).....

^ yes, they know very clearly about e$n (at least here in Meerut) and my job was done one 1 mogul in 2 hours flat.... if u get right person, its a 1 hour job... they will only check that esn is clear in their database and activate it... dont worry....but make sure u give them the same e$n that u have changed in ur phone....

@doc all the applications posted by you and nitink in the diamond topic should work on pro too, I presume. Pls confirm the one's that are not compatible.... thanks...

i had heard the opposite... what u do, is give them esn no. and tell them to activate it on prepaid without taking the phone to them... take the help of some other tata office or some official over there... then put your phone on nam2 and after it has been activated at their end, you will have to do *228 to download their settings and prl automatically and activate on your phone and that should do it... afaik...pm jabir on the forum if u have to, he's using it like this....

Discuss Here All The Problems With Blackberry.....
dkaile replied to amit.shippie's topic in BlackBerry
HOW TO REMOVE/CLEAN BLACKBERRY TRACKBALL *********PLEASE PERFORM THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK*************** Tools Needed: Phillips Screwdriver (no bigger than 2.5mm) Small pliers Starting…. 1. What you first need to do is remove the silver plastic ring around thetrackball. What you'll need is a small screwdriver or something with a small tip. NOT A KNIFE, I repeat don't use a knife because it might damage the mechanism. I used a small Phillips screwdriver. 2. After this is done, you can now carefully remove/clean the trackball. 3. Topop it out just face the Berry down and pop it out. It should just fallout easily with minimal force. It's held in by a magnet. 4. Replace your old track ball with the new one. 5. The put the mechanism back inside the BlackBerry. Put the plastic ring back on and there you go good as new. 6. Done! View Video of how to do it here - http://www.youtube.c..._embedded#t=115 -
Though I am not using this Announce Incoming Caller due to ringtone going silent after one ring on mp3 (didnt try wav file), but if someone wants only device to vibrate and say caller's name, its fantastic now with increased volume... However, I am loving it announcing my INCOMING MESSAGES - with caller name and full message text - cool man... I have set it to on...

More on how to make Voice Command announce Incoming Calls (this is supposed to work) (Voice Command Version is v1.6.19965 on my Pro) - If your incoming announcements don't play, it's likely that VC is stillworking fine. You can test this by looking for this file on your deviceusing FileExplorer. Pls ensure that Announce Incoming Calls is ticked in voice command settings - Phone - Option. My Device\Application Data\Volatile\TSCallerID.wav Double tap the file to play it in Media Player, it should speak out thecontents of it (last caller). If this works, then you know VoiceCommander is working fine, its the phone not playing it. As stated before, this registry edit gets announcements to work: Edit this registry key: HKCU\ControlPanel\Sounds\TTSAnnounce\Category Change from VoiceCommand1 to Ring As originally stated, it works, but sounds level is low. To increase the sound level, I did this edit: HKCU\Control Panel\Sound Categories\Voice Command1\AttenutationCategory It was originally at 3. I set it to 4 which is decent, you can go to 5, but I see no difference going louder. Using 0 or 1 will make it whisper quiet. But people have even set it to 7 and got good results, even upto 9 for super loud. If that does not make it louder, then edit: HKCU\Control Panel\Sound Categories\Ring\AttenutationCategory It was at 2. Same thing, set to 4 or 5. I didn't have to make any changes to InitVol registry settings as previous people stated. Now the phone will speak callers name and phone type (IE, "home"), ifmy BT headset is enabled then it will spreak it over the headsetinstead. I also like it better when "Michelle" talks a little slower, as previously stated that can be changed by editing: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Speech\Voices \DefaultTTSRate Mine defaulted to 4, I dropped it to 1 which is normal/slightly slow talking. I think I might bump it up to 2 at some point.

@Dr.Gagan U can buy Touch Pro or Diamond and it will work fantastic with Tata Prepaid on which this scheme is available...... -
^ Yaa, thats very great news we all have heard.... but we must be realistic in our expectations ACCORDING TO INDIAN CONDITIONS.... there is no sight of even 3G here.... Data would be very hard (if not impossible) on these more and more complicated meid sets..... so for us sitting in India, Diamonds/Touch Pro's are the best bet as FULLY FUNCTIONAL PHONES for the foreseeable future.... and the price point is also FANTASTIC... Pre as such can be deemed as a FAILURE, AFAICT........

^ Yes, I was able to enable the caller name feature; but it was impractical as the ring stopped after 1 ring and it only vibrated and said caller name like "Call from 'Name' on Mobile Phone". So for all practical purposes it worked but since its volume was too low, I reverted back to original settings. If you want and try, here's the registry hack for the same - Sennheiser is the brand of my headphones... Ringtone volume for me is quite high; what I suggest to you - use a mp3 file which has been trimmed and its volume level slightly increased by a program like - mp3trimpro (attached) MPtrim_pro.zip mp3Trim PRO.exe
