Smart Tablet + Dumb Phone = Future of the Smartphone?
dkaile replied to digitalnirvana's topic in General Technical Discussion
I really fail to understand the OP's comparison where according to him a utterly 'dumb' phone like NOKIA can compare to the newer breeds of Smartphones like S2/S3/Note2.There is no comparison at all and the entire premise of this topic is 'flawed". And two devices in my pocket?? Not at all. After handling a 'phablet' like Note II for a few weeks, I could never go back to a dumb phone. -
I too need some calling solution for 7 days trip to Switzerland and France. Any suggestions would be most welcome.

Received this beautiful white Leather Pouch/Flip Sleeve for the Note II for 349/- bucks from here - http://www.ebay.in/i...984.m1439.l2649 . Quality is quite good and it has space for some cards and other stuff also. The OE Samsung Flip Case was slightly cumbersome while talking as it was attached to the back cover. Now I can just take the phone out of the cover and talk which I find more convenient than handling the flapping flip case...lolz. All Photos clicked by Note 2 - Notice cut on back for the speaker Soft felt lining inside, with separate pocket for cards etc. Leather quality, I like!! Samsung Note embossed -
Bought this - http://www.infibeam....D.html?id=Brown at just 17K. Fit and finish are excellent which I checked at a local store though performance yet to be fully checked. This seems a good alternative to netbooks as this is a full fledged laptop with DVD drive and HDMI port.

^^ Arre Vishal ji, aap FM radio ke peeche kyo pade hue ho? Take a 500 bucks chinese phone for use as FM radio. Yes, it has FM radio hardware but in most Note 2 variants its locked. You can get it unlocked here - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mikersmicros.fm_unlock For any questions of FM unlocking, you can contact the developer of that app. -

So did I compare both as I owned both. Anyways, each to his own judgment. Perhaps I like bigger text as I am getting old... S2 was a near perfect phone for me except perhaps the notchy GPS. It was a perfect size to handle. I am sad to let it go. -

I trust my eyes only. And it's resolution was mighty good compared to my evo 3d. Colour saturation was slightly better than my note 2. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy Note II CDMA -

Corruption stems from over-population which leads to empty stomachs, which in turn leads to difference in classes, which in turn leads to people with power and 100 times more without, which leads to lack of resources, which eventually cycles back to lead to corruption. So root cause is our over-population. Kill half of it and corruption will disappear overnight. Till then there is NO solution. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy Note II CDMA

What should be the selling price of these foreign CDMA handsets?
dkaile replied to montsa007's topic in The Lounge
Like Sir Genius quoted. There is NO fixed selling price. Everything depends upon condition of the phone and services provided by the seller like MEID registration, EVDO / Data activation etc. Most buyers like these services to be provided by the seller. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy Note II CDMA -

Now that's a first. If anything this has one of the best resolution amongst it's contemporaries. Sadly sold mine today at a paltry sum of just 12k. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy Note II CDMA -

The Flip Case attached to the phone. Notice the back where only branding now is "SAMSUNG" and it looses the "GALAXY Note II" moniker which comes on the front. Notice the textured fabric finish of the front cover. The inside is soft felt lined to protect the screen - It is already available on Rimweb. Where did you think I got it from? -

The Note II Flip Case (White) with NFC. MRP 1599/-, procured at 1120/- from Samsung Distributor who is my friend. Damn good quality. Replaces the original battery cover too so that it can remain safe for posterity (and resale...lolz). -

Yes, it is entered. The solution hopefully is this - Under system/app, look for Sprintdm. Apk ///// change it to Sprintdm. Bak as posted here - http://forum.xda-dev...d.php?t=1973449 Now to do this without rooting. -

Some Screen Shots EVDO speeds are low in Meerut region The Lock screen. It is fully customisable for icons. Also you can add News/Facebook feed/scroller here. The Home Screen Apps and Widgets combined Settings Device Information. It took a system update on 1st connection to wi-fi which enabled Multi-Window Support. Phone Status Notification Bar. Note the Multi Window selection. Multi Window in action -

Teaser Photo of the Note 2 compared to my S2 (Epic Touch 4g). Everything working, voice, sms, data, evdo.

That Note 2 is big is an under statement. For the purpose of just a phone even the S3 is big. You don't need a device any bigger than with a 4" screen. Also if you don't want to be stared at while taking a call, Note 2 is not for you. It's wow or 'what the hell is that' factor is yet to die down with the general public. But that Note 2 is cutting edge technology is also true. That it can play 2 simultaneous applications on its huge screen without a single lag due to its Quad Core processor and 2 GB of RAM is a fact. It's a geek's delight. It even has features for single hand use where the keyboard shrinks to one side of the screen. Its S pen is revolutionary and has so many uses that are still being discovered and custom software being made for that purpose. I use my phone very less for calls, hardly 10 calls a day. Its for other things like internet, messaging, emails etc. that its mostly used. It requires at least 7 days usage to getting used to. But after those initial 7 days, every other phone will be just that in comparison, just a phone. So if you like your device to be cutting edge and filled with unlimited potential then the Note 2 is for you. For the others there's the i-phone.
