^^^^ Well, the thing is that when the device has already been synced by the PC then on deleting an existing partnership, this problem arises, not otherwise; even after changing settings to keep data on phone in the event of a conflict, it happens; thats why its safer to use pimbackup to keep a copy of your data on your memory card and keep backing it henceforth to google sync....
-
^^^^ have to tried re-logging into gmail; they may visible then; and why did you not take PIMBackup first?

http://www.google.com/mobile/default/sync.html With Inputs from my dear friend Hetal, who has guided me, I started using Google Sync to synchronise my Mogul's contacts and calendar to Gmail Contacts and Calendar and surprisingly found it to be quite simple, superfast and now it seems I will be tension free in the future. This guide can be used with all Windows Mobile 6.1 devices. So I would like to share with you its detailed procedure- A) First of all backup all your data by PIM Backup to your memory card (method and program download already detailed in my Sprint original rom post; click link in my signature) including all your contacts, tasks, messages, emails, custom files, call records etc. as they might get deleted when you delete your existing activesync partnerships. B ) Next, open activesync from Start-Programs, in your phone, and check whether you have any existing partnerships with any PC's; Click Menu-Options- and Delete any existing settings on your PC/PC's; NOTE- at this stage your contacts, calendar enteries and tasks may get deleted hence DONT PANIC as you have already taken their backup through PIMBackup; if you have never used activesync, go straight to point D) C) Next, check whether your contacts/calendar/tasks are intact or deleted; if deleted, RESTORE them by running PIMBackup; After restore RECHECK all your contacts and calendar etc. to ensure that they have been restored back successfully; now wait for 5 minutes to let any running processes complete and then reset your phone; On successful reboot, recheck whether your contacts etc, are all OK; D) Now open your Gmail a/c on PC, Click on Contacts; click select all; and then Click on Group; Click on New Group; Type Gmail (or any other name) in that; Again Select All and Remove those from My Contact Group, so they should be only in Gmail Group; Now if you Click My Contacts nothing should be shown but if u click Gmail every thing old should be shown; YOU CAN SKIP THIS STEP if you wish as you may have to recreate Gtalk relationships, if you remove them from; however it worked for me; E) Next, run activesync from phone once again; Now you will see a different login page and you will see an option with a link saying - Set up your device to sync with it. Click it; Next it will ask for your email address - enter your gmail address; Uncheck - Attempt to detect exchange server settings automatically; F) Next it will ask server address; enter - m.google.com and SSL should be ticked; Next it will ask username, password, domain; youremailaddress@gmail.com, Password = password, Domain = BLANK nothing, Save Password = Ticked, Edit Server Setting = Only Contacts and Calendar; On advanced, there are some options like replace item on device etc.; dont change it and keep it on that; Next Click-Finish (Remember - Replace ITEM On Device should be Selected; Gmail should be kept prime) G) Next It will be trying to connect by netconnect, let it connect; It will say, synchronising... let it synchronise fully; In the end you may get error that sync failed, DONT PANIC; close active sync fully and reset your phone and after reboot sync again; it will be successful next time, surely... H) After successful sync; change settings to manual by opening activesync in phone, click Menu-Schedule- and change Sync During to Manually in both Peak times and Off-peak times; Now you will manually be able to control when you want to sync; and VOILA like magic all your contacts and calendar will be on the net for free and that too in your Gmail Account for ever without fearing of any crashes on your PC; also always take PIMBackup for extra security; Now forth there is no need to backup anymore to your PC through Activesync and Outlook and through any cables as it can be done anytime, anywhere, over the air, without the need of any PC... Enjoy....

Thanks for the info, Kalpak...

^^^^ then u will be disappointed as Mogul has mono speaker and not stereo... but I feel it is sufficiently loud to do its job... @nitink u also cannot deny the fact that u paid nearly 15k more for that handset and cracked or not cracked, these handsets are giving excellent service; I had earlier purchased UT Starcom 6700 directly from Reliance for 33K and got a ****ty service backup from them and no special peace of mind; no use at all buying handsets from them; thats why advocating these half cost handsets, only after personally trying both available options...

@saurav Here is the topic of discussion of acer aspireone, where many users have posted their views - http://www.rimweb.in/forums/index.php?showtopic=15083 Speaker quality of aspireone is louder than my aspire 4710 and is sufficient for single user; yes, you can do share trading and all other tasks that you do on any laptop; only thing is that the screen is a little small 8.9" and resolution 1024x600 and no optical drive; rest all normal tasks are fully functional and some even better; and u will save lots of moolah as it is available at only 15K for linux 160GB, 1GB ram model; u can load xp yourself; though I would have preferred a 12.1 screen with at least 1280x800 resolution but those available are nearly double the price; so choice is urs; If this is not your cup of tea, then I think Dell Inspiron will be your best bet as it is a full fledge laptop with optical drive, core2 processor and 3gb ram; no need to go for vostro for home-office use; Also consider Acer travelmate 6292 ultra-portable laptop with 12.1" around 40K; Ultimate Ultaportable will be the Samsung X300 but at a prohibitive price of 115K; also Dell Laltitude E4200 at 170K; Apple Macbook at 72K;

@mohan speaker quality is not the loudest I have seen, but sufficient and you can set a tweaked up mp3 if u so require to hear a louder ring... speaker phone is also satisfactory but not the best I have seen; on some chinese phones I have seen much louder speakerphone and speaker but they are not as per FCC regulations and have been tweaked up unnecessarily...

^^^^ try using it on a pc first; also try reformat and recreate folders; if you are unable to do this on the pc, try changing your card reader; still if problem persists then your card is defective... -
@rajinder I have used diamond personally and find it NO MATCH to my mogul; Both are running WM6.1 Professional so the basic usability is the same but It doesnt have a full sliding qwerty keyboard like mogul which has become an indispensable part of my usage; it does have slightly higher ram but that does not justify it price; it may be sleeker but then the bulk is due to the keyboard in mogul which has far more usage; It also does not have any expandable memory like the mogul and I can use upto 32GB micro sd card with the mogul which I can never do with the diamond; somehow I found the mogul much tougher and it ages also very well in comparison to the diamond; the battery life of diamond just ****s in comparison to the mogul and is nearly half in practical usage... there are many other things also.... and it certainly does not justify the 30K price tag when I can get the mogul for 15K....
-
Diamond is not worth the 30K being charged for it, at all; htc mogul at half the cost with 8gb card will prove a better option...

^^^ You will need to know service programming to do that and its not that easy and fast on the move with treo 755p (although I can do it in less than 5 minutes) because it involves editing your NV backup file and backing it up; so for all practical purposes for you, I would not recommend it.... until of course, you feel confident enough and have the access to a laptop along with you (because that will be needed)... for detailed procedure read the es* change procedure of treo... -
shyam dude, this problem has been discussed many times before friend... you will have to replace (not delete) the HTC_CMGuardian.exe file with a dummy text file by the same name through 3rd party software like Total Commander or Resco Explorer as the default windows explorer doesnt show hidden files; then you will have to delete the Sprint Connection permanently, not before that; complete procedure already laid out in post no. 86; pls read it carefully... and no, u wont be able to use rworld to download phone directory as that is not compatible with outlook contacts; u can use any other method like transferring contacts as .csv file and importing them into outlook and then sync ur phone through outlook to get those contacts...

Good to hear that deepak; enjoy the power of treo.... -
What error are u getting; pls elaborate; To use you have to press the hardware key on top right (besides the flashing green light); that opens the explorer and use can use it with wi-fi or with reliance mobile world connection but without proxy; dont use rel net connect as it works out to be expensive; I personally use Opera Mobile and have configured that hardware key to open opera mobile rather than IE; you can find all software in the first post or post no. 86; to configure hardware button, press start-settings-personal-buttons-and assign button2 to opera Mobile 9.5 beta (after installing it, of course)

99% Of Mobile Users Are Prepaid
dkaile replied to hritik123's topic in Indian Telecom / General News
@kshah It is not a matter of getting offended or insisting for no reason, at all... On the contrary this kind of debate if discussed in the true spirit of discussion is good to put forth a point of view. There are other topics where we can be to the point and objective, but some topics deserve more debate. And thats what forums are all about. If you are passionate about how you feel, there's no harm in putting it in words, and from both sides. And maybe we can force the policy makers to see our point of view and change how we perceive things outta be. Thats the whole object of this debate, I hope... And if Gandhiji had not been persisting with his non-violence policy, we may never have achieved freedom, though I think his ideals have lost grip in today's day and age, and this topic does not deserve the same passion, but what the heck, why not... -

We cannot be elitist in our views; A true democracy calls for market forces to function in such a way as to provide the best value of any product or services; that's what a market driven economy is all about; this forum too should reflect the views of the people, by the people and for the people, not only of a select few; even if we are corporates, we have a corporate responsibility to force the service provider so as to provide best value at the best possible quality of service. And that people should have a CHOICE; thats the true essence of any democratic setup; whether it is a low end, middle end or a high end subscriber, does not make any difference; so from what I gather from the subject of this topic, THE PEOPLE HAVE CHOSEN... -
My beloved Harley Davidson Motorcycles are finally coming to India by the end of this year (Source - Hindustan Times) though the high end would be a prohibitive price of about 20 Lacs wherein the entry level will be around 5 Lacs and will be TCKD and will be the first HD assembly line in India. The coompany is scouting for a place at Gurgaon... http://www.zimbio.com/Harley-Davidson+Moto...r+2009+Assembly

That's one of the major flaws of SONY, i.e. we have to use their customised Memory Stick, which no other manufacturer uses; because I am a stickler for the more open ended SD card where in you can get a 8 GB SDHC card for the price at which the 4GB memory stick is available; With the latest PSP you can use memory sticks upto 16GB but their prices are quite prohibitive even now... My son uses the older model PSP with a 4GB memory stick with hundreds of games as it has been cracked...

99% Of Mobile Users Are Prepaid
dkaile replied to hritik123's topic in Indian Telecom / General News
99% of the consumers are not fools; only on this forum I see people advocating post paid over prepaid, nowhere else; they are not ready to accept the rationale which is driving 90%+ of our public; I fully subscribe to this view of going prepaid... It is the truth of today's time and age which we must accept... -
