Hey sadikk, just wanted to know - how do you get to edit the cdmafirwareupdator.prc (for treo 755p etc.) to put the latest tata or reliance prl into it - just wanted to know for knowledge sake...

^^^^ bro, 800 is not working on reliance, only tata; hence people are recommending treo755p instead of 800 also, diamond is costing 26K from reliance and treo 10K; and treo has almost all qualities of diamond except weak browser and gps but with a faster and more responsive OS; you do the maths, which is better;

I think futurebazaar is overpriced; ebay offers better deals but you have to be on a constant lookout, no guarantees that your will get the stuff you want... (like e.g. you are getting a Nikon L10 digicam for 6950/- on FB which I had got for 4500/- from ebay under special promotional scheme) I prefer to do my electronics shopping BY HAND from Palika Bazaar and Nehru Place after feeling the goods first hand and I always get much better prices then you can ever get online, more peace of mind, feel and touch the item beforehand, assured guarantees and bills (if required)...

You are a seller not a buyer at ebay; and they have their own sets of rules which you have agreed to when signing on... will be very tricky to get around them... Just explain your position and shown them proof of your purchases like Invoicing etc.; they once had suspended my a/c also when I was selling a used laptop; but on showing them proper proofs my a/c was restored....

Be persistent with your mails to them; communicate your problem and dilemma properly that you have already paid for the goods ordered and they will listen, though it may take some time; They only want to confirm that you are genuine.... Just be persistent and dont let go...

Got a call from Customer Care from Bombay today that my request/complaint regarding allowing foreign handsets has been forwarded to the concerned department and is being looked into seriously!!!!! Whatever that means....

@mauk I think 6265 is ruim based; and hence you can use that phone with any other ruim of reliance; no issues at all... only dont use the ruim programmed into 755p with any other phone...

It can only be done by either Total Commander or by a unlocked Resco Explorer; not be default windows explorer...

My whole point was, as Sadikk pointed out that these dongles are overpriced; its ok about convenience but at this price, u can easily get a handset in 3K with modem and no need to spend 9K as u have pointed out; in fact one of the best handsets with a modem (which I still keep) was the original B&W LG (I forgot the model no.) which came for about 1-1.5K only... so why the hell are they charging so much just for a modem dongle... Run GetSPC.exe from your phone (download it from cracking 6800 folder link given in my post and copy it to your memory card), enter your current (ruim) es* in input and the output will be ur spc; if that does not work try entering your phone's original es* and get spc; 3 rd option is 000000; one of the 3 has to work at all costs...

which rom are u on??... and u dont have to press call key after ##778#; it automatically goes into EPST on original sprint rom...

PRL Update - The new PRL worked just fine in the UP(E) circle today, where the old one was giving problem; that means no problem roaming anywhere in India or abroad (China etc.); tested....

^^^^ dial ##778# from your phone; you will enter EPST; click edit; enter your SPC (most probably 000000); click ok; click view info; click on M.IP Settings; Click on MIP_MODE; select Edit from Menu; Toggle choice to Simple IP Only; Click OK; Click Menu then OK; It will ask you Press ok to reset the device; click OK; phone will restart; AND YOU ARE DONE...

I think the best phones in Reliance are either the entry level 3100 and 3600 or if u want high end then there's no matching Treo 755p and the Mogul 6800.... no sense going in for these mid range craps...

The document has been posted before by the mahaguru kshah in his post no. 71, which I am posting again but with link to download 700p_tools, download them, they are self explanatory, but try them at your own risk... (also the cdmaupdater in the 700P_tools is the one with the old prl, download the new one separately) @mauk - use usb cable to connect 6265 to pc as bluesolil BT adapter is one of the worst I have seen; even I have one which I have dumped - to see nvbackup file u will need resco explorer (attached in the aforesaid document) - copy the prl files by palm quick install only to main memory and not to memory card. they will be visible only by resco explorer, but you will be able to see them under "All" under application as CDMA Up... rest procedure is already given. - try to change name at your own risk only after reading the attached document to first make the nvbackup file and then editing it by hex editor and then restoring it...
