"I have used all these programs without feeling a need to go back to my core2duo notebook" - Doesnt this answer ur question....
  2. Sorry mates, my fault, I by mistake selected Reliance Telecom Ltd instead of Reliance India Mobile. So Sorry for the goof up... Yes, it is not showing that line through Reliance IndiaMobile.
  3. Even I have a very old hotmail account, well before Windows Live came into the picture ...but this term is coming... maybe u never realised that they were cutting 1 Re....kindly cross check again by sending a test mail or something and let us all know...
  4. How can there be 2 terms and conditions. I just copied and pasted from their website. Which version of messenger are u using.... Maybe u did not do it from messenger.... And yes, I have cross checked; This line is there in their terms and conditions...
  5. This is a copy of their terms. It states that we will be charged Rs 1 per alert received and on the other side it is saying sms recd is free. Its a contradictory statement. Could any of the users elaborate, what exactly is the situation, before I start this service... TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR USE OF THE SERVICE: This service is available for all Reliance Telecomm Ltd subscribers. Currently for each SMS received from Windows Live is free and the cost of sending an SMS to this service is Rs. 2/- per outgoing SMS. The applicable charges will be added to your monthly mobile bill or will be deducted from your prepaid account if you are a prepaid subscriber. You will be charged Rs 1 per alert received from your Windows Live Hotmail and Windows Live Messenger account on your phone. Currently, there is no maximum number of SMS messages that can be received from this service every month. This service is a Windows Live service and is covered by the general Windows Live Terms of Use. The terms and conditions for use of this service may be modified by Reliance Telecomm Ltd and Windows Live at any time without any notice.

Thanks for the suggestion Manish, and I am a fan of all open source codes and os, but as things stand at the moment there are lots of compatibility issues, learning issues, hardware issues with linux. By default AAO uses Linpus Linux and has got its own User Interface. Acer has also released the open source code of its version of linpus (i can give the link should anybody require), but Linux still has a long way to go.... Therefore I was suggesting xp, otherwise once these teething problems are solved in linux and we get one standard version (BTW I am confused by the no. of versions available in linux), I might give a serious go ahead....
  7. @ketan There is no way your internet will not work if you have followed the instructions in the above post no. 273 carefully and implemented it fully. Also remember to Reset your phone (by taking out the battery and reinserting it) every time after you use the internet, because this is a problem in Treo as mentioned many times before, otherwise you will get error message. So pay attention once again and follow that post carefully and your internet will run, unless you are making some mistake, because there is no other way we can guide you... or you can call me...

No probs mate... If u want u can play around with Linux for a few days; its got Firefox for browsing; but my trackpad/mouse got hanged when I tried to slow the default settings, had to do linux level programming to get it back .... but overall I couldnt get the hang of linux, the learning curve is just too big....

Now u are talking business... ur job is a s good as done.... process will be very simple now... Just dont forget to delete all partitions on the Linux disk, and I mean ALL and make a fresh install of XP from the external CD that u have got...

I did it from a 4GB USB Flash drive, process is slightly complicated but I will explain to you and send u required files by email... If u require u can also purchase an USB optical drive with it - costs around 1100+700 for case for Samsung DVD Writer, but it is bulky and requires an external power source; I bought the ultra portable Enter DVD Writer for 2800/- very sleek and small and works from just 1 USB port on the AAO. It is not compulsory to go for the Optical Drive, if u have networked ur home/office by a Wireless Router (as I have done) and I used my other Laptops DVD Drive to install Office and Corel etc; just installed fine by putting CD/DVD in the other computer and installed on my AAO.

Computer Empire - 26414645, 41808394, 41808488, 41617626 102/104 Meghdoot Bldg., 94 Nehru Place - Go to shop no. 104 for Laptops, though there so much rush, cant tell u whether he will answer phone queries, try anyways, but best price u will get when u reach there and tell him what rate u are getting, he is slightly prone to bargaining, specially for laptops----- I got for 20K on 23-9-08 120GB version, and prices are dropping everyday, and once u tell him rates u are getting, he will definately offer u better rates.... Also try Cost to Cost Computers, besides him at 106-107 Meghdoot Ph 26489193, 26280764
  13. Ketan - Read the above post no. 273 please.... and do settings accordingly....
  14. You must reconfigure your internet settings as posted above... First crosscheck and complete the lower half settings and then proceed to complete the top half settings...

Sorry for the late reply chum, didnt track this topic.... Anyways what that person has told u is a load of Bull.... I am using 2AAO's in the family, and believe me I am ready to dump my high end Core2Duo Notebook anyday for this work of art.... Its battery life easily lasts 3 hours on Windows XP Prof SP3 and 2.5 hours if u watch a movie. Thats as good as any other notebook. Another thing is that the 160 GB 6cell model is now available which will give u a battery life of 6 hours - now thats equivalent to the high end 1Lac noteboooks flying around.... He was saying it in contrast with the processors used in cellphones, and it wont withstand such heavy applications acc. to him. It has got the latest Atom processor and and I am using it for general browsing, editing (word etc.), coreldraw 12, Autocad 2006, Photoshop 7. I have used all these programs without feeling a need to go back to my core2duo notebook. Though theoritically Atom processor is not recommended for high end graphics intensive applications, but I didnt feel much difference in performance. If there's anything else.....

Fax: 0121-3031001 Mobile-9358055599 e-mail: piyush.t.tyagi@relianceada.com Reg : Foreign Esn Handset In Reliance, Request to RCom to Allow this Officially Dear Sir, We have got the following 23 Connections with your Company which we have converted into Prepaid from Post paid in the Month of February'08 whose numbers are as follows: xxxx & my personal number xxxxxxxxxx. I would request Reliance to Start Allowing all Customer to enable Foreign ESN / MEID Based Handsets. As it is a monopolistic policy of Reliance to disallow users to choose their own make and quality of Handsets unlike their GSM counterparts. In fact if Reliance does this like TATA is allowing, it will lead to greater Customer Confidence and boost the image of Reliance as a transparent and customer conscious company. Now many CDMA 1X handsets are available in the USA and other countries which we are unable to use due to this restrictive policy. What Reliance should Expect from Customer who Owns the Handset * The Customer must know the SPC of Phone or it should be 000000. * It will not Resposibility of Reliance for Activation Failure. * Reliance will not be Obliged to Activate R-World on it. * If Handset is lost Reliance will not Bar the Phone ESN as it Already Unknown to their Database. * Reliance may ask for Memo, Bill, Credit Card Statement to get proof of the Ownership of Phone. * If Such Document is not available then Reliance may ask Client to Indemnify Reliance for any Further Legal complication may arise if the Phone is lost, stolen or misused etc. * Reliance may Keep a Separate Database for such Clients for their own Purpose. I think in the long run it will generate more revenues. So I request Reliance to give up this monopolistic attitude in the Interest of the Customers and immediately allow Outside Handsets on their network. We hope you will take this letter most seriously. Awaiting your immediate reply in this matter. Yours faithfully, For xxxxx DHIRAJ KAILE xxxxx
  21. Good one mufaddal Now for versa mail the procedure is - Press Applications key (below red power button), select email application... Press Menu key (right lower most - this key is important in Palm and used to get menu in most applications) Select account-account setup- select New- Enter a name in account name field - Select Gmail as your mail service - In username enter your email address before the @ sign - enter ur password - incoming and outgoing servers will be automatically configured - after that - click next - selct done - yes - OK - go to account inbox - select get - to start retrieving messages - set additional mail options with advanced feature - Then start enjoying email -------
  22. ^^^^ Bro, dont type in CAPS, pls... 2ndly I also use gmail, its very simple to configure on Versamail - step by step method is given in the user guide enclosed with the phone. Thoda to hath pair maro yaar... Read this topic page by page from the top and u will get solutions to half ur problems... In palm we use prc file and not rar/zip files to install programs. These may be copied by you in the Palm folder in your memory card or directly to main memory through HotSync. prc files are available by the thousands on dozens of websites and all the crucial ones are already posted in this topic. All the programs you mentioned are useless except ringo, and u may hide them if u need, search http://mytreo.net/forum/index.php?board=62.0 for more info on the same. Better leave them as it is, they are not troubling u...
  23. ^^^^ - It should not take more than 5 minutes to totally sync all data and contacts. u must be doing something wrong... best first copy all your data to outlook after creating a profile in outlook, then sync that outlook profile to your palm by ionstalling palm desktop and palm hot sync from cd enclosed. - Best way to download music and games is to copy them to your mini sd card eith by hot sync or directly by card reader. - Of course u need a email account to access email. Make the email settings in versa mail or even better download and use snappermail (links given in this topic) Use Hathway?? for what?? coudnt get u?? - set ringer volume and tones from Prefs (preferences). Use a program like Minitones to copy your favorite mp3 tones and set them as your ring tones. Use Butler to set mp3 as Alarm Tones.
  24. ^^^^ Its Mrs. Patel right??? Anyways, kindly give me the email links and addresses to whom we have to send this mail....
  25. No Problems at all.... I have done it on one of my Treos from 1.04 to 1.07....Just follow instructions as it is from Palm website..... As for settings and backup u can use NV backup to backup all your data and programs and messages etc... and restore once updated or everything will be back once restored. Download from my rapidshare link in this topic itseld for ver 4.57 works perfectly.... if u want 4.71, I think the solution for 4.57 will work with 4.71 also, which is already there in my rapidshare link...
