  1. Acer Aspire One

@amitjain I am really amazed by the performance of the Atom Processor. After fully loading XP Prof SP3, it is booting faster than my Core2Duo Laptop. I donno how? It is a perfect replacement as a 2nd computer, because it does not have an optical drive. But I have also purchased my 2nd AAO for a friend at just Rs. 20,000/- for 120Gb Linux model and loaded XP Prof SP3. I also purchased an ENTER DVD Writer for 2800/- ultra slim model which operates from just One USB powered cable and is so small and thin. I think this is a perfect and cost effective packege, as of now. You could however go for the 160GB model, that I have suggested above also. I just today saw an adv of a Sony Vaio Model of 13.3 screen with 4 GB RAM and 250GB HDD for Rs. 1,26,000/- today. So you can well imagine how cost effective this small piece of **hit is...
  2. Excellent contender but still cant match the Tata Plan, just for the unlimited STD to any network plan...
  3. Want To Know About Internet Charges

@shailesh I would suggest you to seriously reconsider your decision to purchase HTC P3000. It is a handset prone to problems. I wud suggest go for HTC Mogul 6800 from Sadikk or if phone is your priority go for PalmTreo 755P from him and save some moolah too. Yes, you can use use Rel Netconnect and Rel Mobile World, both on HTC Mogul & Treo 755P. Charges AFAIK as on date are Rel Mobile World (volume based) 10p/10Kb and Rel Net Connect (time based) 60p/minute. Rel Mobile World works out to be much much cheaper while browsing on the phone. But for using your phone as Modem and connect your desktop or laptop you will need to use Rel Netconnect.
  4. Thanks Dr. Kasim, for all the cool stuff u are posting.... really appreciate it...
  5. I would suggest you go for a Windows Mobile device like the Mogul for seamless email transfer, rather than Blackberry. Palm I would have recommended if your Phone Usage was your priority. I love the Palm over WM device anyday... But in your particular case - for Internet and Email - Mogul on Windows Mobile 6.1 is still the best... and you have the additional advantage of using wi-fi wherever available.
  6. Open Letter To Arun To Improve This Forum

^^^^ Point taken. I will not discuss this topic further. Hope everyone involved understands and reciprocates.
  7. Open Letter To Arun To Improve This Forum

I tried to reason with the particular gentleman and explain him my/our point of view. We had a small exchange regarding the same a few months back also. But since he is a Moderator and presumably more senior to me on this forum, he racked up the issue time and again forcing me to write to you. As pointed out by Asit and Sadikk, the whole point of this discussion is to avoid the terms NOT ALLOWED, ILLEGAL, FALSE against senior members. A quite PM ought to do that. Looking forward to it Thank you very much for the information, but if possible, a band would be more conspicuous and informative for newer members.
  8. Lets Ask Arun

Dear Arun Could we place PALM and other topics related to it, under a separate Phone rather it being through Other Handsets? Just a suggestion...
  9. My Dear Kamal, I would also request you to be more flexible in evaluating other peoples comments rather than out rightly branding them as illegal and false. I try to give people legal loopholes to get their work done and I dont expect them to agree with me, ever. I only react when I am brandished as a person who is trying to provide only illegal and false solutions and there your comments have played that role. Legal loopholes exist in all systems and whats in the better interest of the consumer must be put in front of them. Regards and its Dhiraj not Dheeraj
  10. Acer Aspire One

A very good website for all Aspire One Users- http://www.aspireoneuser.com/forum/index.php Now also available with 160GB HDD for just 23,500/- with original Windows XP Home SP3 (and I think it has 6 cell Batt for 6 hours - YES, 6 Hours battery Life)
  11. I have confirmed from Reliance, and they do not allow any third party handsets which are not tested by it. Only a handful of companies (like Spice, Samsung etc.) handset outside their own are allowed by them AND CHINESE MOBILES ARE CERTAINLY NOT TESTED AND ALLOWED BY THEM. So Dear Kamal, going by your definition, if it is not allowed by Reliance, hence it is ILLEGAL to use them.... (BTW I do not susbscribe to this view at all) So why the DOUBLE STANDARDS, something else here and something else on some other topic...
  12. "but arent CHINESE HANDSETS, ILLEGAL AND NOT ALLOWED on RELIANCE. we should stop all such activities... which are.... AGAINST THE LAW.... OR NOT ALLOWED BY THE COMPANY.....OR MISREPRESENTED" DISCLAIMER- The above statements are not my view, but the view of certain gentlemen on this forum
  13. Normal Micro SD comes in only max. capacity upto 4gb. SDHC is the new format for higher compression which increases the speed as well as the capacity. Till now SDHC cards can theoritically go upto 32 GB only in SD/MicroSD/MiniSD formats. But with each passing month we are breaking new barriers. 64GB Compact Flash are now available (which are quite big compared to SD).
  14. No Need for proxy - I am using without proxy now... and I am using Blazer, working same as Opera Mini
  15. @chintan - Tunneling should be Reverse - MN-HA SPI: 0 - MN-AAA SPI: 0 - Pls ensure that IP Address - Automatic is ticked - Delete any values in Primary NGG and Secondary NGG - They are Sprint settings and will interfere with Reliance; ONLY put 0 in Port of both. - Your Opera Beta may not be working because of the above Sprint settings, change and try again; otherwise delete Opera Beta and shift back to Opera latest version from their website. - Your suggestion for separate thread is VERY GOOD and MODS should create a new phone under handset discussion as TREO, rather than it being in Other Handsets Rest all settings I have already given in above posts...
  16. YES, its confirmed NOW ITS WORKING on the UTS one also.... so both are operational once again... Cheers and enjoy.............
  17. UPDATE- HOORRAY..... Yes, it has started working on the SC810 one... Both Opera and IE. It remained stuck for few initial minutes in IE and then I opened Opera Mobile and it started working thereafter in both...
  18. ^^^^ ditto, its not working also. Both of them allow me to update my weather from the HTC Home Plugin but dont work in IE or Opera.
  19. @mufaddal wil get back to u on those issues...
  20. @galaxy could you post your Reliance WAP settings here, pls... @others so its back to stone ages, to use Opera Mini, but what about our email clients and push mail which Anupe has just started using... I think Reliancewala's read this forum and Anupe's post and blocked all of us... JUST JOKING.... Lets hope, its a temp issue...
  21. @dj absolutely true.... thats why I am not letting go of my mogul... otherwise wud have chucked it...
  22. Since today they have blocked Rworld for outside sites. Try Rconnect and you will be able to connect.
  23. YES - DISASTER !!!!! They are upto their old tricks again, and with deeper motives this time. They are trying to circumnavigate the TRAI issue by not increasing rates but have instead blocked ALL OUTSIDE SITES. But this could be a precursor signal of impending coming of EVDO... Please ... ALL..... MOBILIZE ONCE AGAIN....
  24. @acs palm has already launched the Treo 750 (windows based) @23.5K in India which is the identical twin of 755p in India, in terms of hardware. So basic hardware is the same. Soon 3rd party service should be available if ever one needs for such a ruggedly built handset...
