  1. Buying New Laptop

Though it is a good laptop with fantastic 3GB of Ram and 250 GB HDD, it has a slightly dated 1.83 processor (by todays standard) and NO Bluetooth. For all Pocket PC users, I feel Bluetooth is a must for fast and wireless syncing and data transfer.... Better Products are available here, though the deal at 640$ (around 30K) is OK but hassles involved are too much and NO Warranty
  2. Buying New Laptop

MSI, though good, does not have good service backup in India. Though it has a bigger screen and Bluetooth as additional features, but Aspire has a bigger HDD (120GB in comparison to 80GB) and both come with 3cell battery as default (though both can be upgraded to 6 cell units giving upto 6 hrs backup) Because of Service Network and Full Value for your hard earned money, I am recommending ACER...
  3. Buying New Laptop

U may also consider Dell 1525, though slightly pricy (by about 4-5K) but build quality is better....
  4. Run GetSPC.exe on your device. Enter First your original es* in input and then get output (spc); if that does not work, then enter changed es* (as per your ruim) in input and get output (spc). Either of these 2 (or the default 000000) will definately work. Go to CDMA workshop and change sp* to 000000. Then go to qpst service programming and reload reliance.prl and check all parameters as per Dummies guide. Your problem will definately get solved.
  5. Buying New Laptop

  6. Dear Yunus, All these problems have been repeatedly and repeatedly discussed in the already running Original Sprint ROM topic for the mogul. The solutions are absolutely common and there was no need to open a separate touch topic. Anyways, kindly read that topic fully, and all your problems will be solved. You have let the sprint customisations to run and hence so many issues. All solutions are mentioned in that topic, to all ur problems...
  7. Htc Victor Being Launched By Reliance Shortly

Lets hope they launch the Double Camera US Model and not the Single Camera one like the Airtel Crap.
  8. I am using this original rom, as it is, without any changes and it works perfectly. Though I have added HTC Home Customiser and HTC Home Plugin to get the cool look and big clock and all notifications and launchers like in Hetal's rom. Other cabs I have loaded are- HP reliance mobile world and net connect, customisation tools, resco explorer, burt icontact, ashok karkera contact restore, emunutz HTC home customiser, HTC HTC Home, Opera 9.5 beta, Resco registry add-in, Valentin Iliescu Chess, Google Maps, Total Commander, THATS IT I am using latest GoogleMaps 2.2.0.19 and Destinator (DIRECTLY FROM MEMORY CARD - I have not installed on Device at all) with GPS perfectly without any problems. I have not installed any other add ons like audible air cabs etc.. Hence I do not feel the need to fiddle with it to remove office etc.. I am facing no memory problems at all...
  9. @Chintan Its not the new beta version, in fact its the beta version of the current one (hence older), but works perfectly without hanging, somehow...
  10. Microsoft Direct Push Technology.

BUT THE BOTTTOMLINE IS - You cannot use push mail without remaining connected to the internet either through Reliance 1x network or wifi at all times.... so its not free on the move like receiving SMS's...
  11. Microsoft Direct Push Technology.

Here - I found something more... Push email with Windows Mobile 6 Posted Feb 18th 2007 12:00PM by Brad Linder Filed under: Windows Mobile, E-mail Windows Mobile 6 is the first version of Windows Mobile to include push email support without setting up an Exchange server. Of course, it only works with Hotmail, but it's a start. Once you have a Hotmail account, all you have to do is: Open Windows Live on your mobile device. Enter your Live information and set your device to use Live services including Messenger, Mail, and Contacts. Click on menu and selection options. Select Sync Schedule Under frequency, select "as items arrive." Now every time an email is sent to your Hotmail account, a copy will be sent to your Windows Mobile device. You can even configure your phone or PDA to work with both Hotmail and an Exchange server, allowing you to receive push email from two separate accounts. In my earlier post on Windows Mobile 6, I had indicated that I will keep you all updated with links and news as I come across. But this is something that cannot be buried under UPDATE, so I have done a new post for this. With Windows Mobile 6, you will be able to put your good ol’ Windows Live Hotmail account to some use, if that isn’t your primary email id today . This is because, with Windows Live Hotmail and Windows Mobile 6, you will have push email. Cool. Best of best, it’s free! If you are worried about junk mail, well use Grupa MÅ‚odych Artystów i Literatów ( I mean Gmail) - now that all can sign up - to filter your emails. Use the powerful gmail filter and labels to sort emails and forward the important emails to your Windows Live Hotmail account which will be then ‘pushed’ to your Windows Mobile 6 device How cool is that? Howto Setup Push Email with Windows Mobile 6 Once you have a Hotmail account, all you have to do is: Open Windows Live on your mobile device. Enter your Live information and set your device to use Live services including Messenger, Mail, and Contacts. Click on menu and selection options. Select Sync Schedule Under frequency, select “as items arrive.” Now every time an email is sent to your Hotmail account, a copy will be sent to your Windows Mobile device. You can even configure your phone or PDA to work with both Hotmail and an Exchange server, allowing you to receive push email from two separate accounts.
  12. audible air cab??? where is that...
  13. @vipul As i have already mentioned in my pm to u, if your Internet Usage and Wifi usage is more and u want gps, then the Mogul is the phone for u, but if u want ur PDA to be a Phone first then there is no beating the Treo. But do remember it has a weak browser (even opera mini) in comparison to Opera Mobile. However emails and normal browsing are not a major problem... but there WM is better. As for Excel etc., this Treo comes with Documents to Go (which u have to download) for free 1 year, with which u are able to edit and use all office documents and view pdf files. Its not an issue at all... At this price Point, Treo is worth it, and as advised by Hetal also, much better than BlackBerry, it is in fact ... a steal... when u compare it with Rs.36K BB Bold, or 31K iphone, or 40K N96...
  14. For all opera mini users - if your opera freezes after 5-10 minutes of browsing then u will have to uninstall the opera mini, reboot and then install the opera mini beta version (which I am attaching). This is an inherent flaw in opera and its beta version is working better than their main version they are telling it will be sorted out in the next version of opera mini, till then use this beta version... opera_mini_4.0.8462_advanced_beta.zip

  18. need registration code for softick ppp.....
  19. Wireless Bluetooth Hot sync and Wireless Bluetooth Dial Up Networking (to use phone as modem to connect wirelessly to PC) connected SUCCESSFULLY. 20. Bsnl Launched Ev-do

^^^^ Thats what I am saying...
  21. Bsnl Launched Ev-do

EVDO Broadband launched yesterday in Meerut. They are promising 144Kbps speed and unlimited broadband package at Rs. 250/- per month via USB EVDO adapter/modem (as per local newspaper report). Its pathetic, 144kbps is actually 1x speed and not EVDO, but thats what they have advertised, but the price seems lucrative, 250/- for unlimited... Now I have to ask feedback from anybody who has used BSNL EVDO Broadband to actually assess their quality... If anybody could provide more information....
  22. No option over there. Only available is Display either- Next Appointment or Upcoming Appointment & Tick mark against Display All day events. Nothing to choose No. of days before which to display... I think there is some solution but that is via registry hack. I need that....
  23. @chintan here's the step by step process for loading Java and Opera... Download Java from the Link given by Kalpak on the previous Page. It will create directory PalmOS JVM 5.7.2 wherever u choose to extract it. In that go to sub directory JVM/ARM4T. Copy only files J9JavaVMMidp20.prc and j9pref.prc through Palm Quick Install ONLY and that also in the Handheld directly (not to expansion card) Do HOT SYNC. These 2 files will be installled on your Palm/s main memory. Reboot Palm Treo after install. Now go to Prefs - You will find 2 options in Other - IBM Java VM and J9 Java Options - Click IBM Java VM Now on top u will see [Global preferences] - let it remain selected and then edit below - Set Memory Maximum - change to 4Mb (u may experiment later with 8Mb and 32Mb if you so desire); Set Maximum Java Thread Stack Size - Change to 32Kb Click Done Reboot Phone Thats it - After that go to Opera Mini site http://www.operamini.com/download/ Select Download to PC - then select phone Palm - then select Model - Treo755p - Select Language English (International) - Then download file - opera-mini-advanced.prc to your PC - It will show file name as - opera-mini-4.1.11355-advanced-int.prc Now after download select this file and copy it again through Palm Quick Install and install to Handheld ONLY.
