Updated : Iphone 3g Out In India !
dkaile replied to Honest's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
Even then dear man, it is a horrible horrible pricing decision by the two companies. -
@hitman What is the rom version you are on. Check in device information and let me know. AFAIK u cant connect your PC broadband to your phone. For that Wi-Fi is provided. @vishal sheth skype is still not working even on original sprint rom, only chat via skype is working, no voice calls. @karki @hetal bhai @arun I need resolution to connect to Rconnect on PC (phone as modem) on Sprint Original ROM. It was working in all other ROMs but in the latest Sprint ROM it does not connect. When I try connecting through Internet sharing - it gives me message- Cannot Connect-The remote party has ended this connection. Rconnect and Rworld works perfectly on the PPC though. Pls BOSS log, reslolution chahiye.

Resco 2008 Device ID: PPC-6800 Serial:36284. Also try 36744, 19229, 65377 @Anupe @Vijay Waiting for your responses to my problem...
-
Even I can connect to both on the PPC but can you use your PPC as modem to connect to internet on your PC, that is the question... When I try connecting through Internet sharing - it gives me message Cannot Connect-The remote party has ended this connection. Maybe we need an enhanced Internet Sharing Program as was there in Hetal's New ROM in which we could also select which connection we want to use to connect to Internet Sharing.

Horrible Pricing Decision.... -
@tarun You will have to read the topic of using Sprint original rom posted many times by Vijay and Anupe (link available through HTC Tweaks topic-in 2nd last page) And you will have to use QPST programming to Replace the Sprint Banner with Reliance AND then you will have to load the 3 reliance cabs as per the above mentioned post AND then you will have to delete the Sprint Dialler AND then you will be able to connect to Rconnect and Rworld AS I HAVE JUST NOW BEEN ABLE TO DO @Hetal Bhai Your G ROM was the best, most stable, everything working (except voice dialling), beautiful Chess game, SO I AM PLANNING TO REVERT BACK TO G ROM after having used this new rom for 10 days now and also the original sprint rom (for a few hours). Because most importantly I need Destinator to work, which is giving much trouble running in this Rom.
-
Core Player is also malfunctioning in this ROM (the lower Menu Bar has become invisible though it is playing all videos) Thanks Vijay, Do post here the iphone theme file. I will give this Sprint ROM a try for a few days, till Hetal sorts these small nick nacks out and comes out with the PERFECT ROM (if he has the time).

Nokia's so afraid of iphone that it has launched N96 ahead of schedule yesterday for around 30K. Also iphone is pipped to be launched at around 32k for 8 Gb which would be a shame, and could deter its takers.
-
Thats exactly what I really meant... BTW lets get back to the topic, otherwise our dearest Kamal's gonna pop in...

Havent tried on Vista yet. Was so fed up with its incompatibilities with so many things, just reverted back to XP with SP3. RUU and QPST should not be a problem in Vista (and that should suffice for most jobs except ES* change) but CDMA workshop can be. Pls wait, someone using it on Vista may post his experience soon.
-
@vijay any problems being faced on original sprint rom or is everything running OK, means Rworld, Rconnect, voice dialler etc etc.
-
dear phani, do take the pain to read the forum, as this problem has been discussed many a times. You need to reload the reliance.prl file through the roam tab in QPST service programming as mentioned in the dummies guide, and that's it, the roaming icon will disappear after reboot. And dont worry this icon is harmless and not going to cost you anything.
-
Vishal, I suggest you go for the top of the line HTC 6800 Mogul imported by Sadik. You wont regret it.
-
Great shop, kalpak
-
@vijay But I was able to run Destinator smoothly on Hetal's G Rom @hetal bhai help needed
-
Update: Though the ROM is quite fast, but the memory usage is very high and I am unable to use Destinator either by directly installing on device or through memory card. Resolution to this problem is a must for proper functioning.
-
You will have to install Mobile Device Center in Vista instead of activesync to sync your phone in vista. I am attaching a pdf file for instructions on how to backup/restore using active sync as well as MDC. Hope that helps... Backup_Restoring_Personal_Data_on_HTC_Mogul.pdf

Std Tariffs May Drop As Trai Allows Internet Telephony
dkaile replied to ravi_patent's topic in Indian Telecom / General News
Thats great news... and one that may change the telephony scenario hugely in the near future... -
Yes, I always vote in the General Elections...Always But to whom....I cant tell you....Anyways I always change my preference according to the Candidate standing and the Work he and his party has done for us. And obviously it was not our dear susri in question....

Very unique and useful problem (How many times I have wished I could hear what the other person says about me before picking up my phone - he he) Seems the registry messed up, but you say you have updated latest rom, so that cant be the case. Maybe Alltel needs a different initiation procedure, same as Karki had posted for the Quest 6800. Perhaps that topic in Techie enclave could provide you with certain hints.

Agreed with your facts dear gurus... But I dont agree that iPhone is not a great phone (perhaps your phone was a defective piece Anupe). Ask Hetal. I have used my cousin's phone for 2 days, and it works just fine as phone. SMS forwarding can easily be added via software. Even I was a huge critic of the iphone few month's back (read my earlier reviews) and this SMS forwarding was a point I myself raised sometime back. But now I am a convert. After having seen the performance first hand. As someone said "better change your thinking with changing times or be left behind" But I absolutely agree with kalpak that it is basically a phone for music/video lovers who want an extension of their entertainment into their phone, and not for business users. There are much better alternatives for business users, like our HTC's and Treo's. And I hugely support the cause of Freedom - Whether of speech, civil liberties or from monopolistic practices. But all these things should be taken with a pinch of salt and adaptation to the changing scenario (otherwise my logic defies how Mayawati can rule over our state ) Yo, petar, finally we agree on something...

What do you expect from a handset, guys --- the World? Not possible on any handset in the world, to give you all the features in one go. Some shortcomings are always left - for next upgrade... iPhone has created a hype, no doubt ...that is why the expectations are TOO HIGH and UNREALISTIC. It is a good handset, period. It has shortcomings..no doubt. It has the best graphic interface in the business and in the world as on date .... and that is what 90% of its users like and are going to use (besides making a call) It is retailing for 199$ in the US (even though with a service contract) but that is peanuts. Even if it retails for 20K in India with Airtel, it will be a good deal, just for its graphic interface and full fledge iPod features. Dont shut yourself out from any new technology, opt for it rather than being a follower...
