@varun VIA website is loading just fine on my HTC 6800 Mogul via W-Fi, so I see no problems why it will not load through Rel NetConnect or Rel MobileWorld. PLS NOTE that Rworld is NOT FREE NOT FREE NOT FREE to browse outside sites even on DAPO as per changes incorporated wef 09th July in Reliance. Yes, You can browse Net (if you can now afford the charges-read separate topic going on for that) both through Rconnect and Rworld. I advise you not to go for P3000, You should go for the more better equipped HTC Mogul 6800 through Sadik on this forum (search topic).

That is a standard message on *228, so need not worry about that. You must have done some settings wrong. So recheck all settings again as per our guide. Else contact the person from who you procured the 6800. He will be able to guide you better.

Reliance Mobile Internet Data Plan Introduced Wef 7th Dec 2008
dkaile replied to @mitJ@in's topic in Data services
Even I got an SMS just now from no. 9320572051 at 3:57pm stating and I quote " Now visit any Mobile Internet site from your Reliance Mobile at Re1/10kb. Introductory Offer! RMW charges remain 10ps/10kb. Reliance" HOW FUNNNIEEEE -
@greatest Use Reliance Netconnect as your default connection in your Mogul (where username and password is your 10 digit mobile no.) and you will be charged at 60p. per minute. DO NOT USE Reliance Mobileworld as default connection. Procedure for changing- Settings-Connections-Connections-Advanced-Select Networks-(from drop down box in Programs that automatically connect to the internet should connect using) Choose Rel NetConnect. Also click edit and check that username and password is your mobile no. and in Proxy Settings No Wap servers are enabled.

@vijay even on hetal's new rom (see link http://www.rimweb.in/forums/index.php?showtopic=12511# picture no.3 in 2nd row) there is no call key on the dialler and we have to press the hardware call key to dial. Or is there something I am not understanding. I want to call from the Dialer screen from Touchscreen itself and not by hardware call key. If somebody could clarify.
-
Thanks Anupe and Sougata. I just wanted to search for a good dialer like the original sprint one, where we can dial from the touch screen itself as there is no call key on the dialler and we have to use the hardware key to dial. It is not possible from the Hetals G Rom Dialler. Any clues for that...

I totally understand and agree with the point of view of Tanveer, as I am in quite a similar boat. I would also request my dear members not to disconnect and look at what options do we have with other service providers. For a 24 hours net on usage, no network is going to be cheap. My options right now are 1. Use Rconnect for connecting approx 5mins at a time thrice daily to check my mails/surf for other stuff, to keep my usage low. 2. Use wi-fi wherever possible. -
Hi hetal, Nice to know you have just turned into the terrorist assasin Altair ibn La-Ahad wanted by the Israelis. Just joking... Assasins Creed Hope this rom sorts out the pending issues. Great job man, as always... Desmond signing off...

Reliance Mobile Internet Data Plan Introduced Wef 7th Dec 2008
dkaile replied to @mitJ@in's topic in Data services
Dear Friends, I suggest wait and watch. We have done what we can. I have shot mail to 15-20 people today (trai included), but I doubt very much if they will wake from their slumber. Because in another related in which I raised a hue and cry in March this year, which was a blatant unscrupulous racket being run by Reliance, they hardly reacted, and whatever compensation I got was from Reliance only (They basically gave me what I wanted and shut my mouth). Now from what I gather on this forum, we are a very small minority group of not more than 20-30 people being more affected by this move on this forum. Even at all India level we may be a 1000 or so, using high end PPC phones. Now that is a very small peanut minority for Reliance. Others using browsing on Rworld on lesser phones may surface, but it will take sometime (at least one billing cycle) to see if this leads to outrage at all India level. That is why I am suggesting Wait and Watch. Don't expect freebies from anybody, Tata or no Tata. Coverage is a major issue with Tata. Forthcoming EVDO is another. When it will come? What will be the charges? etc. etc. Do you think our GSM counterparts are better. Wake up friends, they are not. Right now I am searching for a source to Amar Singh. May be he can sort out our matter with Lala (Anil) ji -

What the h*ll is going on at reliance. In the meanwhile, I repeat what my friend Sadik has told in a previous post, All 6800/6900 users enable RConnect as your default connection instead of Rworld, till the gravity of the situation is realised or rectified. What I personally feel, is that Reliance wants that all browsing should be through Rconnect and not Rworld, because there you are browsing with your own identity i.e. your Mobile No. If Amit would be kind enough to confirm what are the charges of Rconnect as on date. Have they been revised too? If they have been made the same as Rworld, then GOD SAVE RELIANCE... -
not without nue tools. search and download.

@nawal No hard feelings nawal, but when someone criticizes a brand which we all love so much it does get on our nerves sometimes. Yours may be a one off case, and your sync problem may have been solved by the suggestion that Mukesh has given above. But I do empathise with you because anybody who has invested so much money does expect some sort of service from the phone. But we have to keep our expectations realistic. And you should realise that a Pocket PC is quite different and a 100 times more capable than an ordinary normal phone. But it requires a little time getting used to. But I do agree that the S720 is heavily overpriced from Reliance and not worth a buck more than 10K. That is why we have gone for a much better and cost effective option of the Mogul which is much more capable and solid device in comparison.

@sitansu Yes, GPS does indeed work for FREE on our 6800, because GPS chip on the phone tracks the latitude and longitude via a battery of GPS satellites revolving around the earth. At any given location we can have upto 4-10 satellites tracking your location. This service is free. But if we use Google Maps then it needs internet connection to load the Maps. At home/office we can use Wi-Fi but en-route we have to rely on Rconnect and that is chargeable but works quite nominal. To use it totally free, we use Destinator with One India Maps Loaded of more than 30 cities, so we do not need Internet connection to load the maps. It also has very accurate Voice Guided Navigation, which works as a charm.

If your G Rom hangs a lot, could be because of lots of programs running in the backgroung. FIX- Go to Start-Settings-System-Task Manager-Button- and click on End Programs by tapping "X". This will close the programs immediately instead of them running in the background. This is one major issue by which G Rom stops hanging.
