  1. Quite good enough. The new MIUI is so well interfaced that no lags are noticed even with around 70-80 apps installed.Sent from my ASUS_Z00AD using Tapatalk As an alternative one can go for Lenovo k4 Note which is 3GB memory and 16GB storage with dedicated memory expansion slot and dedicated SIM slots. How many times do I need to repeat that K4 Note does NOT support VoIP and hence useless for Jio. Many people are using both sims along with memory card on RN3. Search YouTube videos as to how to do it. Also a cheap Mediatek chipset based phone can never parallel Qualcomm based one. 3. 3GB/32 GB version is not available in today's sale also, even on Mi.com, as the clock countdown timer is showing only below the 2GB version.
  4. The SAR calculation is not so simple and differs from country to country and is different as per testing procedure type. The SAR LImit in India for mobile devices is 1.6W/kg. Tests for SAR are conducted using standard operating positions with the device transmitting at its highest certified power level in all tested frequency bands. Like for e.g. SAR value for Moto G on LTE Band 7 is 1.069W/kg but on GSM 900Mhz is 0.905W/kg whereas Moto E has an average of 1.02W/kg whereas Asus Zenfone 2 has an average FCC rated figure of about 0.92W/kg. But the same phones CE rated SAR value is 0.351W/kg. Some specifications test at 10mm from the body whereas some test at 15mm from the body. During use, the actual SAR value is usually much below these stated values because the phone automatically decreases full power when not needed for system efficiencies. So in fact a slightly higher SAR figure may in fact mean that the phone increases it's power to give you a better call experience. Also RN3 has a host of more bands than any of these other phones and it has to be tested at the extreme end of the band spectrum which have lead to the slightly higher SAR values but that band you may NEVER use in actual usage. Anyways. so long as they are below the India specified figures of 1.6W/kg, I am good with that. Hope that helps.
  5. Smartphones that will work on Reliance 4G

    Is my understanding correct? Yes.
  6. Reliance CDMA Shutting down

Hope that clarifies.Whatever backbone JIO may be developing, the reality is that their commercial launch is being delayed just because of their unsuccessful VoLTE testings. So JIO cannot think of providing voice fallback for RCOM 4g customers. Chances are very high that JIO will use RGSM and their ICR partners for its voice fallback even after successful VoLTE launch. Lolz. OK, so at least you got the point that LTE is in fact GSM for layman. There is nothing wrong with VoLTE technology used by JIO. Their VoLTE testing has been successful wherever their towers are operational. It is more to do with lack of VoLTE enabled handsets with the mass public and lack of full penetration of their towers that will force JIO to look for other partners for voice support and that too for the time being.
  7. Reliance CDMA Shutting down

What plans are on offer for RCDMA users migratign to RGSM? Migrating to RGSM is completely different than upgrading to 4g. You have to do MNP/INP to migrate to RGSM and the plans are not very attractive too. Better upgrade to 4g and ur same voice and data plan will continue. You can use the 4g sim in normal 2g/3g gsm handset also if you dont want to use 4g. Post 90 days you will b eligible for MNP once again. What do u mean by 4G is different than RGSM here? Are you saying that CDMA customer who upgrade to 4G will have different network than RGSM? I thought even RGSM customer can use 4G network Reliance CDMA migrating to 4G will NOT use Reliance GSM network at all. They will solely use JIO's LTE/GSM network. When did JIO put their gsm network ??????. They only have their own LTE network and for voice they are still struggling with VoLTE.Sent from my ASUS_Z00AD using Tapatalk JIO's LTE network will be known as GSM for the general public for all sense and purpose. It will use 4G enabled phones with LTE bands which are all basically GSM phones not CDMA. Reliance's GSM network is pathetic to say the least and the voice fallback plan for Reliance 4G customers is suspect and JIO is developing it's own backbone over LTE and VoLTE to counter that. Hope that clarifies.
  8. I think he is referring to Mi Note Pro and not Redmi Note 3 Prime (which is same as our RN3). Mi Note Pro is a different model all together. It is available for sale through Aliexpress in China. It has a 810 Octa Core processor with 4GB of RAM and 64GB ROM with a 5.7" 2K screen (2560x1440, 13MP with OIS/4MP cameras with a 3090mAh battery, glass body and aluminum alloy frame. Cost there is about 20k. I was referring to news in Indian Express and other web sites. Tried to search the source but unable to find the release date of May'16. Maybe you guys are right that Pro is for China and Note is for India. However, 91mobiles reports that Note 3 Pro will be launched in June. It also lists different specs. It is not having hybrid slot but independent 2 sim slots. A price difference of +1K. If Xioami will not offer 32GB vesion then Lenovo K4 note is already an alternative. It supports Dual SIM and SD card simulteneusly and has 3GB RAM. Readily available online. AFAIK Lenovo K4 Note does NOT support VoLTE - https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/K-and-Vibe-Z-Series-Smartphones/How-to-add-or-enable-voLTE-in-K4-note/td-p/2255791
  9. Smartphones that will work on Reliance 4G

Please choose a handset with ALL LTE (4G) bands and with built in VoLTE support (must). I chose Redmi Note 3. Even my Asus Zenfone 2 does not have VoLTE. Though people think VoLTE can be done via software upgrade in 4G compatible handsets, IMHO if it does not come out of the box it will be a difficult proposition later on. Kindly search the internet, there are lots of 4G+VoLTE handsets available in India but mostly in the higher price bracket - http://telecomtalk.info/list-rjio-volte-enabled-smartphone/147516/

  12. I believe it is a tactical decision on Xiaomi's part not to offer the 3GB/32GB model freely so as to boost the sales of their Mi5. Because I believe 90% of their Mi5 customers would switch to the 3GB model due to the fantastic value proposition.

  14. Reliance CDMA Shutting down

Reliance CDMA will CLOSE on 25th April according to the Webworld here. Only existing CDMA customers will be shifted to the LTE network of Jio. Once CDMA closes, you cannot port your number to Reliance CDMA for the time being i.e 1~2 months (like I was planning for my Airtel) till things streamline. Don't know how much truth is there for the latter statement.
  15. Usually only 2 or 3 top selling models are stocked there. See the model that is stocked on most shops and go for it according to your budget.
  16. As you are in Delhi, you should go to Gaffar Market and pick up the best Sony 5.1 system. It's at nearly 50% rates from the authorised showrooms. I had picked up one for a relative about a year back from there, don't remember the exact model number, but it came with 4 tower speakers and a blue ray player for around 25k.
  17. Honor Holly 2 does NOT have VoIP so I do not think it will be future proof for the upcoming JIO network. Voip requires software not hardware. You may justify your purchase BUT if it does not have it out of the box, I doubt you will be able to get it later on with software updates, as some basic hardware requirements are there.

  19. After update CDMA is working i havr got latest update but the problem is data is not working Yes, calls and sms work even after the latest updates. You just need to be patient and let the phone remain with the sim as it is. It finally latches to Reliance in CDMA mode. The phone has become very fast after the latest MIUI version.
  20. Reliance CDMA Shutting down

they could be used as wifi only devices. or permanent navigator/mp3 player for your four wheeler. it could be a for occasional candy crush/temple run. be innovative and you could surely use them as more than paper weights. for quite some time now i have avoided going for a cdma only phone. at least anything north of 5-6k. it somehow always seemed like safer choice to keep world phones. specially because i travel a lot and mostly to hills where i often did not find cdma signals. just hoping these phones that i have in my family support at least one of the lte bands. Lolz... You took me quite literally did you not mate. CDMA is dying in India. It is better to accept the fact and move on was my main message. Of course you can use your existing devices for those mundane tasks you mentioned. But will 90% of the exisiting world phones work with the Jio Network's backbone on which RCom will piggyback for a while, is a distinctly remote possibility as some crucial bands and VoLTE is missing from 'most' world phones. Hope you get the message. Cheers...
  21. Reliance CDMA Shutting down

Move on mates. Use those handsets as paper weights. I remember the good old days of PPC 6800 when we were into some serious s#!t.
  22. ^ You are lucky. Kindly post screenshot of evdo working with speedtest to validate. My son took the phone to Delhi yesterday and 1x data started working automatically and continuously for the two days he was there. But as soon as he returned to Meerut, data stopped....lolz. Anyways, Reliance CDMA is going to die come May 1 in UP West and all customers will be given new LTE sims (hopefully) for 4G and they will piggyback on JIO network for the time being, so I am not too worried neither I am following it actively. Cheers.. PS - As soon as you update to the MIUI's new update 7.1.8.0 Global Rom, evdo stops for many, like me.
  23. Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 supports CDMA

Of course you will need new sims and most even new phones. Reliance 4G will piggyback on Jio's LTE network. So GSM phones with LTE and VoIP capabilities will be needed.
  24. Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 supports CDMA

http://m.moneycontrol.com/news/business/rcom-to-upgrade-all-cdma-customers-to-4g-networkmay_6175881.html They will start giving new GSM (LTE) sims in 5-6 days to existing customers. But I would still prefer Jio as I have reliability issues with Anil Ambani... lolz
  25. Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 supports CDMA

Yup. May 1 is the deadline, at least here in West U. P. Sent from my ASUS_Z00AD using Tapatalk
