Very frankly, you should NOT be using Android, if you dont use Google for email and syncing data. Just a personal opinion.

I would go for a HTC or a Samsung any day over any Motorola as on date.

Just purchased a Samsung Galaxy SII for a family member @28.5K and it is right now in my hand- Initial Observations - Really liked it's screen and lightness though the build quality is a little plasticky. I felt the Evo3D to feel more solid in hand. However the US versions of Galaxy S like my previous Galaxy Epic 4G seemed better built. The screen quality was just mind blowing and better than my current HTC Evo 3D and the phone was also lighter than Evo 3D. The quadrant scores were also quite higher than Evo 3D. Just got to know that Samsung Galaxy S III is around the corner and to be launched in 2 months time (as per info recd from my distributor friend, though he didnt have any specs). Maybe he might be confusing with the LCD version of the same which is already launched, not sure. The interface was very zippy but I'm not a fan of the Samsung Touch Wiz at all. Anyways that can be changed anytime to many options available. The camera was also very sharp and precise. Sound output was higher than my Evo3D. It however lacked the notification light (which I find very useful) of my HTC. Compared to my HTC Evo 3D- Overall, I feel it is one of the best smartphones in the world at this time in the world but there are equivalent contenders like the Evo 3D which have something extra than this.

^ Galaxy SII from Sprint i.e. Epic 4G Touch is already topping all wish lists for December shopping due to its falling prices. Top of the list from Engadget (a known iphone lover) goes something like this - Entry Level - HTC Wildfire S Mid Budget - Epic 4G touch (Galaxy S2) Money no issue - Galaxy Nexus (yet to be launched) and yes the also-ran included the iphone.... lolz

Changing default SMS Application to Handcent and also changing the 4 default icons on the homescreen - Click Applications-Menu-Edit- Now just change any of the 4 bottom apps with the ones you want e.g. hold down Handcent SMS icon and take it to the Messaging icon below. Both will get automatically interchanged.

Most roots for the S2 have some issue or the other which are messing up the radio. You may be in low wifi signal area. No such issues detected.

I found the GPS to be excellent. The magnetic north problem is with the compass programming and does not effect the gps programs. Wifi is definitely slightly weak when compared to S2 but not a major issue.

Got 2 of these for my wife and bro's wife - The Google Nexus-S 4G from Sprint - http://www.google.com/nexus/tech-specs.html#/features Most value for money phone in cdma today with highest specs. Just 12K each. Will be the 1st to get Ice Cream Sandwich after Galaxy Nexus along with Face Unlock. Already on 2.3.7 and Video Chat on Gtalk working perfectly. Only downers are no notification light and fixed 16GB internal memory. Get these guys before stocks run out. Most easy to handle in hand. Better than the 4.5" devices -

Kies is a 'stupid' program from Samsung to sync your phone's data (like Nokia PC Suite) and other programs like updating the phone, drivers etc. I have never used Kies and am most at peace.

Update: Bluetooth is working perfectly. There were some driver problem in my PC.

Yes, that's a compromise with the Toshiba's... the HP looks good too but both ram slots are full but 3gb should be sufficient.
