^ Best is to always do a hard reset before upgrading but after doing a backup of your data and apps; after upgrade once more do a factory reset; then restore your data after upgrade; it aint so complicated and takes just minutes; these extra precautions go a long way for a seamless android experience; with custom recovery (if u r rooted) do a factory reset 3 times; do a clean wipe 3 times then do a dalvic wipe 3 times; then install the upgrade (if u have it as a zip file on your sd card); this will ensure most trouble free and lag free upgrade to a newer os version...

^ roms are dime a dozen; the main point is that android in its stark naked avatar supports sms delivery notifications across all releases; some roms just disable this feature to save network bandwidth...

^ It is not rational to expect front video camera in 10K device; even high end one's like our Epic/Galaxy-S which have front facing camera but are not supported by the required 3G networks; Doing it over wifi through 3rd party softwares is possible but not feasable; Once we have across the board true 3G with all the service providers, can this translate into usable reality but still dont expect this facility in low/medium cost devices... -

^ Update Just read about a possible work-around. So before going ahead with the factory reset below try this: Here's the solution to unlock without losing your data: Type you gmail username and in the password field type "null". You will then be prompted to enter a new pattern and your phone will be unlocked.

lolz... pattern set karte time avoid nahi to a hard reset is a 5 minute job; if u r backed up and then just restore;

^ delivery reports are a basic feature and available in each and every version of android; however as the os is highly customisable, most network locked phones (like Sprint/Verizon etc.) disable this feature so as to put less load on the networks... in network independent phones and in stock android os, this feature will always be there...

Bought 2 pieces of Samsung Champ (one Pink and One White) for my kids... Links - http://ph.samsungmob...fication#expand http://www.samsung.c...type=prd_detail Price - Rs. 3600/- only (MRP Rs. 4500/=); In fact the bill was 7145/- for the 2 pieces from my distributor friend. Whats included - 1 GB Micro SDCard with SD Card adapter (compatible upto 8GB), Beautiful Leather Case, 3.5mm high quality Headset with mic, Micro USB Charger Observations- - Standard Micro USB Cable works with PC (not included) and it downloads drivers itself (on Windows 7); gets detected as Mass Storage Device and also modem and charges and transfers files in a jiffy via PC - Quality of Build and Finish is top notch (as good as my EPIC/Galaxy-S - and I am not joking) - Screen (though resistive TFT) is superb for its price, and though a Stylus is included (in same colour as handset), its rarely needed and finger scrolling works great - Loudspeakers are stereo and quite loud; Sound quality better than Sony... - Camera (though marked VGA on box and 1.3MP on website) is quite good and very sharp - Call sound quality is very sharp - Bluetooth file transfer from my Epic was a breeze - Contacts/SMS/Calendar can be backed up to the sd card as vcf file (for contacts) - Facebook got connected easily and Net browsing was also OK; Opera and all Java apps can be downloaded - The 4 homescreens can be increased upto 7 (aka our android phones) - Very good inbuilt apps like Facebook, Google (Mail+Search), Fake Call, Emergency SMS function, Mobile Tracker, 6-7 Games etc. Same touch wiz icons like our Epic/Galaxy-S, - 1000 maH battery Verdict - For the price, its a great value for money and feature rich phone...Excellent Ladies Phone... Pink is best colour...
