And for all the critical evaluators, here's a list of 6 things that Nexus-S doesnt have - 1. No 4G or HSPA+ 2. No Micro SD 3. No LED notifications 4. Only 5MP camera instead of 8MP 5. No HDMI out or DLNa 6. No Dual Core Processor And for all the AT&T (read HSPA+ lovers) lovers in US - AT&T named the worst mobile phone network in the U.S.

^ Well, if you all are looking for a perfect device (or a wife) it DOESNT exist... Samsung is beating HTC hands down in the hardware part in all aspects; only the software synchronizations remain... that aint far either with Google in tow...

^ it seems, the online link to the Meerut Edition is not available; and as such this has appeared only in the Meerut Edition of HT-City... something's better than nothing, I guess... -
^ Well for a 500$ device, the features seem more than sufficient; there's never going to be an end to the wishlist and 3 months down the line we will be talking of Tegra 2 (post#16) and LTE as standard on the newer devices; but as I have repeated this many times before, this is a vicious circle; So as on date, Nexus-S seems the device to buy...

I cannot answer your queries further, but would like to assure you that this process is genuine (if done by the right genuine people) and handsets are listed as such in their database i.e. Samsung EPIC as Samsung EPIC... I hope that answer's your query...

^ - does iphone have one (micro-sd card slot)? - cheap plastic? have you handled one lately? - open source in iphone?? or do u need to be stuck with itunes for ur life... lolz - HSPA+ ?? in India?? who needs it... 3G to aa jaaye pehle yahhan par; its fully compatible with Indian 3G; and next step is LTE (4G); tab ki tab sochenge, as there is no handset for it yet (commercially) in the world, maybe Verizon's cdma iphone... lolz... No micro-sd card is the only valid point but may not be a deal breaker for many wanting to taste gingerbread and all future updates from Android... I havnt used half of the 16gb micro sd card on my epic... lolz.. and gingerbread is taking apps to another level with special support for only inbuilt memory (read its full details)...

Let me try to answer your queries as frankly as I "can" - 1. Reliance and Tata DO NOT officially accept foreign meid's but plans are afoot to make them do so shortly 2. Registering Foreign Meid's and clo*ing are 2 separate issues; while the latter is illegal (and is strongly discouraged), the former is "perfectly" legal 3. "Officially" Registered foreign meid's face no issues of resale or change of numbers; it can be done easily at any webworld by retaining your MDN (phone no.) to that particular meid; the mdn can be changed to a ruim one at any time and this meid then becomes free for use by any other mdn 4. You can send sms GETSTAT<space>"14 digit meid number " (without quotes) to 53733 (for reliance) and know the "official" handset's meid status on their network. Just ensure that your registered meid is the same meid which is printed on the back of the handset. Hope that answer's your queries...

The Most Awaited MNP Finally Introduced!
dkaile replied to SumitVerma's topic in Mobile Number Portability (MNP)
I am with Reliance as a "choice", not as a "compromise". MNP or not, I would have left my current service provider long ago, if I was not satisfied with its services vis-a'-vis other operators... -
Tabs will never replace phones... anything above 4" is not "truly" portable or feasable; as long as we dont mutate with 12 incher hands and 2 feeter face... lolz... on an afterthought - Khali ke liye theek rahega vaise...

As I mentioned previously, I have reverted back to 2.1 and will wait for a stable release; I was already using 2.2 on Incredible, and it was pretty good on that though you wont feel much visual difference. I am already using LauncherPro Plus which gives quite many features of froyo on 2.1 and I just miss the apps to sd feature; anyways actual OTA is just around the corner for Epic too, though Samsung's software deptt. does lag in front of HTC's... @satishdave - use Ndrive as posted by Kshah elsewhere on Rimweb; use search button...
