OK folks, the wait is OVER. A short unboxing photo shoot is finally here.... phew... First, is the BOX - Its quite SMALL, compared to my hand - The Box Contents (pretty frugal) - First Glimpse of the INCREDIBLE - All Contents revealed - Now without their clothes (lol) - The Phone - The Back - The top ports (Power, 3.5mm jack and Back Camera with dual flash) - The Side Volume buttons and Micro USB port - The RED As$ revealed - The beautiful charger - Some more close-ups - The Screen Guard revealed (a perfect fit) (optional accessory) - The Lock Screen, Home Screen, Clock Application - Various Scenes (Themes) - Friends Stream and Pinch to Zoom works great - The Clock and the Optical trackpad - Video to follow. Update:- As the EVO has been delayed to/beyond June, I shall be going in for Verizon Incredible... Launching 29th April... My order date around 7-10 May... Should be with me around 25th May... The Only difference I see between the EVO and Mr. Incredible is - - 4.3" Screen to its 3.7" (though both have same resolution of 800x480) and the 4.3 inch beast may become TOO cumbersome to handle... - HDMI Output in Evo vs Component Output to LCD TV via accessory cable on Incredible - 1GB internal memory in Evo compared to 8GB Internal gigs in Incredible - Additional 1.3Mp Front camera in Evo - 4G vs 3G (dont laugh... we are still awaiting 3G) - 170 gm EVO vs 130 gm Incredible - No Track Pad/Ball on Evo vs latest track pad on Incredible Comparative Scores by latest surveys - HTC INCREDIBLE 85/100 SPRINT HERO 81/100 BLACKBERRY 9700 77/100 APPLE iPHONE 3GS 83/100 HTC HD2 79/100 Comparison - EVO vs Nexus 1 vs Motorola Droid http://pinoytutorial...t-specs-review/ 1 step painless rooting and recovery instructions - here OFFICIAL 2.2 FROYO UPDATE PROCEDURE - here

Review: Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note II - SPH-L900 - The Next Big Thing
dkaile posted a topic in Samsung
Samsung Site & Support : http://www.samsung.c.../SPH-L900ZWASPR User Guide : http://downloadcente...uide_LJ1_F5.pdf Engadget Review : http://www.engadget....note-ii-review/ Note II GSM India site : http://www.samsung.com/in/consumer/mobile-phone/mobile-phone/smartphone/GT-N7100TADINU The Ultimate NEXT BIG THING in hand Stock Photos : Initial Observations : 1. Though it is a big device, it is very easy to hold in hand and use as a phone. I was pleasantly surprised by this fact. 2. Build quality is Samsung's patented plastic which has exceptional durability and scratch resistance; Feels solid in hand. 3. 5.5" Super AMOLED Plus screen is brilliant but colours slightly under-saturated than my Epic Touch (S2). It is BGR technology having least pixelisation that I have seen in any phone. 4. The sound quality is just brilliant, the best I have seen yet on any phone. 5. The 8MP camera is again brilliant. Front Camera is 1.9 MP. 6. It is on 4.1.1 (Jellybean) and as a existing S2 owner, I had no issues transitioning to this device. If anything the level of customisations is now miles ahead. 7. Special software enhancements exists for One hand handling. 8. GPS locking is without any error and very very fast unlike S2 which has issues on stock rom. 9. 16GB in built memory + option to add upto 64GB micro sd card. 10. NO dedicated camera button. 11. Notification light is now present in Note 2 unlike Note 1. 12. Humongous 3100mah battery and battery life seems double than my S2 upto now. Should last 2 days for normal usage. 13. The highly glossy battery cover and all plastics are of the highest quality only attainable by Samsung. 14. Brilliant S-Pen, features of which I am still discovering. What I don't like: 1. I am getting "Activation not completed" message in notification bar and it tries to Activate on each restart. Minor irritant. 2. Under saturation of colours (in some photos). Videos just look unbelievable. 3. No flip case in box (cost cutting nowadays?). Have to buy separately. Original (with NFC) is 1600/-; Chinese (without NFC) is 500 bucks. 4. No kickstand. Even with these, it is now the MOST DESIRABLE SMARTPHONE in the world at the moment. It's sales numbers are proof of that because every second person I meet is carrying a Note 2, so a bit disappointed by lack of exclusivity. Now for some PHOTOS: The Box The Box opened in multi layers The Box's total contents. Notice the white charger, USB cable and headset. The Front and the Back Feel In hand Close up Shots of the Camera and sides The Back cover opened and the humungous 3100mAH Battery. The Back cover has NFC contacts and also supports cordless charging. The S-Pen Video's and the Screen is just brilliant Size compared with Epic Touch 4G (S2)- 95 replies

Nope. its a permanent plan. But they offer it mostly for port in numbers and don't openly offer it to all customers. Yup, I am now fed up with these cdma restrictions.
-
I have ported one of my Reliance CDMA prepaid number to Airtel Postpaid. Took the 399 Plan (specific to persons porting in, I think). 750 minutes local and std calls free, 250 sms free, 750MB 3G data and thereafter unlimited 2G data. Took 7 days. Service seems great. I hope it is not the first of many that I will port out. All this due to NON registrations of new MEIDs. Maybe my personal Reliance CDMA postpaid number will be next. Bought the new Micromax A1 Android One phone for this number.

The fault in our stars (2014) - 4.5 stars - One of the best movies I have seen this year. Little emotional as its a love story of 2 cancer patients but the Anne Frank twist gives hope...

Unboxing - http://www.rimweb.in/forums/topic/31537-review-sprint-htc-evo-3d-worlds-1st-proper-3d-phone/page__view__findpost__p__236203 Screenshots - http://www.rimweb.in/forums/topic/31537-review-sprint-htc-evo-3d-worlds-1st-proper-3d-phone/page__view__findpost__p__236206 HTC Site Specifications - http://www.htc.com/u...rint#tech-specs Sprint Home Page - http://now.sprint.co...3d/#/techspecs/ HTC EVO3D Official Support Page (includes Post launch update instructions) - http://www.htc.com/u...rint/downloads/ Review by Engadget - http://www.engadget....-evo-3d-review/ This below photo is of Green Hornet in 3D (though the 3D effect is not visible here). It is just unbelievably awesome. 3D actually works without glasses and eye strain. Initial Observations- 1. Build quality is top notch; better than Epic 2. 4.3" screen is brilliant 3. 3D photos watching is a pain on the eyes but movies is another matter all together 4. Though it is half the depth of Epic, feels heavier and solid like steel (though fully plastic) 5. Sound Volume seems lower than Epic 6. Soft buttons 100 times better than Epic (my main grouse); same like Incredible 7. Plastic Battery cover is like pappad but after closing feels solid 8. OTA to 2.3.3 (ver 1.13.651.7) has started automatically on wifi 9. Gingerbread + Sense interface is just awesome and beats any Samsung/Moto interface hollow 10. Watching Green Hornet in 3D (free download via wifi on the phone) is just F AWESOME. No Eye Strain at all. This truly has to be the biggest selling point of the phone that 3D in movies and games "actually" works on this phone. Volume is a little low (as was in Epic for movies). Headphones needed. 11. Downloaded all settings, HDR, PPP, PRL etc. in 5 minutes through Hetal (a big Thank YOU). Just waiting for MEID registration to complete. 12. The Lockscreen can be modified to many in-built themes. Default is set to weather. 13. GPS locking is about 5 times faster than Epic (as with all HTC's) 14. Wifi strength is also better than the Samsung's 15. 8GB micro sd bundled in box 16. Build quality of dedicated Camera button and 2d/3d mode is great 17. Qik Video Conferencing works great (tested over wifi) 18. Google sync did not work after software settings through cdma workshop were loaded. Had to do a factory reset to get it to start working. Factory reset did not spoil the software re-settings. 19. The Sense weather has more melodrama added with sound effects. 20. Dedicated Notification light on top. Algorithm is better than Samsung 21. 3D Movie - The Green Hornet and 3D Game - Spiderman, loaded by default (needs wifi) 22. Battery Life seems much better than Epic. Results here - http://www.rimweb.in...post__p__237741 23. New Update to 2.3.4 is now out and I received it OTA over WiFi (unrooted phone). It upgraded my Android Version to 2.3.4 and The Software number to 2.08.651.2. Details here - 24. After the new update, now you can take screen shots on EVO 3D by long pressing the power key and then the home button. Image will be in the gallery under camera Shots. Works even on unrooted phones now. Details here - What I dont like - 1. Low volume compared to Samsung hardware. Same was in Incredible where we solved it by 3rd party app. Will research more. Edit: With use for some days the sound seems to have opened up and increased by itself. Sound Test Video posted here - http://www.rimweb.in...post__p__237822 Seems more than sufficient to me now. 2. Screen brightness of S-AMOLED of EPIC is brighter than this 3D though very slightly. Nothing much to crib about. 3. Its heavier (170gms) than I anticipated. Maybe because of the humongous 1730maH battery (the highest capacity I have encountered). Its almost 60gms heavier than its competition Samsung Galaxy S2. It is even heavier than Epic (155gms) though it is thinner and easily pocket-able. 4. The Galaxy S2 is much slicker and sexier than this curvy babe. S2=Kareena; EVO3D=Silk Smitha 5. No headset in box 6. Lacks Kickstand aka EVO4G 7. 8GB Card is LESS by today's standards. Though 1GB RAM is standard. 8. Locked Bootloader. HTC has promised to send a software update by 1st week of August to unlock it.Therefore NO CyanogenMod ROM for EVO3D till it is unlocked.Edit : S-Off achieved; Bootloader Unlocked - http://www.rimweb.in...post__p__238042 Do the following immediately- 1. Change Proxy to 0.0.0.0 to enable YouTube Playback on EVDO by doing this - http://www.rimweb.in...post__p__237026 2. Change to EVRC-B for enhanced and clearer call quality by doing this - http://www.rimweb.in...post__p__237274

Received Sense 6 update on my Sprint HTC One - Software status post the upgrade EVDO Speeds But the surprising thing is that my son's Moto G is giving 2.6 Mbps speeds compared to 2.1 Mbps on my HTC One!! My sons makes jokes of my phone that his 7K phone is better than my 30K phone. Moto G has a phenomenal radio. Lolz... Sense 6 is basically skin upgrade. Few good things I found were the Themes. Also Time Schjedule is now added to the Do not Disturb Feature which is very useful. Lots of small changes in interface, camera app etc.

Got myself a Dell Inspiron 11-3137 Netbook recently - http://www.dell.com/in/p/inspiron-11-3137/pd . US Site - http://www.dell.com/us/p/inspiron-11-3138/pd . It has the latest 4th generation Intel Celeron Processor 2955U (2M Cache, 1.4 GHz), 500GB HDD and 2GB DDR3 RAM. It has a 11.6" Touchscreen. 3 USB Ports (1 is USB 3.0), HDMI, Wifi N, Bluetooth 4.0, Card Reader and RJ45 Gigabit LAN portand OE Windows 8. It also has Waves Max Audio pro which sounds quite nice. The screen brightness is good but lesser than non-touch screens due to the additional glass and digitizer layers but comparable to all the touchscreen laptops floating around. Build quality is fantastic. Total rubberised feel. Top quality hinges and buttons. Spill-proof keyboard. A nice technical review - http://forums.anandtech.com/showthread.php?t=2355208 MRP 32.5K, retailing about 29~30K at Flipkart/Amazon/Ebay. Picked it up for 29.2K from a local store with breakage warranty included. Only thing I found was that RAM was low. So upgraded to 4GB Adata RAM. Paid 1.5K more in lieu of the older RAM as there is only 1 DOSIMM (RAM) slot. This takes in a DDR3 Low Voltage RAM i.e. of 1.35V instead of the normal 1.5V. All this low voltage architecture translates into fantastic battery life of about 6~7 hours which is quite commendable. This thing can supposedly support upto 8GB RAM and can turn into a rocket if that is combined with a 512GB SSD drive which many people have done and then started comparing it with a Macbook Air. With the SSD the boot time comes down to approx 9~11 seconds. Overall seems as a nice portable everyday lappy/netbook, powerful enough to run Photoshop/Autocad (now tried and tested) etc. PS - Updated to Windows 8.1 OTA foc.

Ecosport will cross 10L in its diesel avatar. If that budget is OK with you then go ahead. But if you are ready to shell out 10L, then I think the new Polo TDI is well worth a look. I would have gone for Polo TDI over Ecosport Diesel. The premium feel of the Europeans is a league ahead.

150kmph. I ride in the day mostly. Going to Nainital with 23 Harley riders (6 from our Meerut Mutineers) on 18~20th April. That 600km ride will test our bikes and us properly.

Today's 60km random ride made me happy on my Pocket Rocket. With my friend accompanying me on his Ducati Diavel. Bliss... All shots clicked by my Sprint HTC ONE...

My Woodstock SA-7000 has gone kaput recently. This looks decent. Kindly share the cost if possible. Thanks...

I would like to suggest to put buysellweb.in link on the homepage/landing page of Rimweb on top like the 'Buy Sell Forums re-opened' link, so it becomes easier for users to just click and reach there.

The Wolf of Wall Street (2013) - 4 Star Rating - Great acting by Leonardo but Martin got carried away with extreme nudity. Must see. The Art of the Steal (2013) - 3 Star Rating - Nice and realistic, but kiddish in some place. 12 Years a Slave (2013) - 4 Star - Definite Oscar pick. Dallas Buyers Club (2013) - 4 Star Rating - May get best actor Oscar. The Counselor (2013) - 3 Star Rating - Depressing in the end but that's how sometimes life is. Gravity (2013) - 4.5 Star Rating - Edge of the seat. Brilliant NASA photography. Would have loved to see this in square format imax. Captain Phillips (2013) - 4 Star Rating - Again edge of the seat. Based on true Somalian hijacking. Jackass presents Bad Grandpa (2013) - 3 Star Rating - If you have a gang of friends watch this with them. Hilarious but deplorable at the same time.
