Sprint Touch Pro SMS Timestamp Hotfix | 01.13.2010 Please follow the instructions below to download and install a hotfix that will correct this issue. The hotfix will resolve the issue causing incoming SMS messages to display the incorrect year, and it will correct the incorrect year on SMS messages that were received prior to installing this hotfix. ^ I agree, Sprint has always been a better handset provider. Verizon has even been known to push refurbished handsets at lower prices. However here the question is whose coming out first... as refurbishment in such a new handset is almost out of the question...

I regularly burn at full speed lots of avi movies; also burnt the W7 iso at full speed without issue...

@kshah any suggestions as to how to get the modem on lg 3540's motherboard to start working??

I used to have lots of burn issues previously but after upgrading my dvd drives (btw I'm using LG super multi and Samsung Octoedge), my issues have more or less disappeared i.e. drive quality and having the latest drives does matter a lot...

^ 1. I'm using moserbaer without any issues; CD-R 52X 700MB, DVD-R 16X/4.7GB 2. I use Nero Express Essential to burn iso image directly without any issue; Magic ISO Maker ver. 5.5 (build 0276) cracked and registered also does the job. 3. Just right click ISO file and open with Nero Express to start automatic burning to media.

Hmmm... Well, I was trying to use this phone (LG3540) for some other purpose (finding meid/min of ruim) when I saw that it got detected as a USB Modem also when I installed the drivers. So I presumed it has some sort of hardware for modem on board. It is also showing as LG USB Modem in Device Manager. So it definitely has a modem. Now when I tried to confirm that it is working as modem or not, I could NOT connect to it; Maybe its blocked, or needs some extra initialisation string settings... more research needed...

For Internet connection sharing Touch Pro on default Sprint rom uses the My ISP connection; Kindly edit it - Phone as Modem - and put username and pw as your MDN or internet (as suggested above) and then you can share internet connection on pc/laptop.

Its not waterproof or fallproof (but they want u to think so, see the stress test video in my signature), but Nexus 1 is hard to rival...

its the same series; may hv the same board; u cud give it a try; i used the micro usb cable of nokia (ca-101); then lg drivers or windows 7 cud download them automatically also; it shud detect it as a modem too; use generic dialer in w7 #777, mdn(username), mdn(password) use the Detected MOdem via Control Panel - Phones and Mode and u r good to go...

Yes, I found out that LG 3540 has a modem and works just brilliantly on net connect at 1100 bucks... what more do we want??

Vodafone is 2G and you are trying 3G; maybe your magic does not support the 3G frequencies being used in India... or maybe its data is locked for 3G...

^ if its working on iphone and Nexus 1 (for me) that means something is wrong with your Magic's setting....

^ are you trying on Nexus1 or some other phone; if some other phone, check whether its unlocked for data; also check this apn on some other phone and try using 3g...
