text file ke liye bhaiya, just COPY & PASTE... You can also use MyBackup Pro to backup and sync those text files between your device and sd card/pc. Also use a software like default notes program to sync your documents to Google Docs linked to your Gmail a/c... for SMS, I have already given name of SMS BACKUP for backing up to Gmail a/c and SMS BACKUP & RESTORE to backup and restore as well to your sd card (both from markt). In fact in the latter, it saves file as xml file which you can also easily edit on your pc and restore onto your phone...

Is Rimweb Turning To Be Buy And Sell Market Place?

Then he wants to be a leecher without contributing first to this forum.... and we, of course, would always be there to help all genuine members... -
Rather than creating a note in outlook which saves it in a "pwi" format which is quite restrictive in itself; what is the problem if u create a note as a text file? And with Android there is no need to use outlook to sync your calendars and contacts at all. In fact i have totally left using Outlook all together and now am TOTALLY ON CLOUD COMPUTING; which I feel is the best and the FUTURE of computing.... All my contacts and calendars sync with Gmail automatically and text files etc. are transferred as easy as 1,2,3... as and when I require them to be... even my SMS sync automatically to my Gmail account which was never possible with Outlook... See Kalpak, its just a matter of getting used to a new format of operating system... and trust me the sooner you shift to cloud computing the better; You can anyways access all your mails etc. anytime without internet connection also by using Offline mode also...

How about shifting to Android for a Blackberry similar (I feel better) experience on Push Mail, specially if you use Gmail.... just a thought...

^ I repeat Kshah, what type of notes do you use, to help me suggest you a good solution.... Do you want your old wm/symbian notes into android or not? What I suggested is the best simple solution to all notes problem. I feel a txt file should be a universal medium for taking typed notes and backing iy up to your sd card + pc the simplest backup solution rather than using/relying on any 3rd party application (like outlook). Why Windows Mobile or Symbian did not think of it as default is their way of complicating things (and making money in the bargain). If you take scribble notes (pen/stylus based), I would suggest a solution to you for that also...

I think rather than using this topic for Sadikk bashing/praising (there is a separate feedback topic going on for that and we can use that for it), we should stick to the CORE ISSUE raised by Kshah and others (me included) and await the RESPONSE of the Admin as to what steps he has undertaken to correct the present scenario as per various suggestions given by the members. Awaiting the response of the ADMIN as to what changes (if any, he feels) he has incorporated OR a response OTHERWISE suggesting that ALL IZZ WELL with this forum and no changes are necessary... -
^ What type of notes do you use? What I did was that I was using mostly text notes on WM; So I opened those notes files in word and saved them as txt files; Now I use a simple Text editor on Android and edit them both in my android phone and pc....
-
^ Let me research it fully and also let some feedbacks come; as I dont want you to load it until its fully tried and tested...

^ No, he meant wm only; as he is comparing all features wm to android; as ram problem is common to wm and android handles the available ram much more efficiently... Here's the snapshot for you Shubhanyu and I have not removed any installed application (even Sprint TV or Nascar) yet and installed a lot many more...

Is Rimweb Turning To Be Buy And Sell Market Place?

Sorry to join the discussion late, as I just switched on my lappy now, but this is a very important point raised by Kalpak, which was in the back of mind of all the regulars (me included) who love this forum. I too like Dj am no techie and have learnt all I have due to this forum and early posts that I remember by Hetal, Kshah, Dj etc. highly motivated me do something similar. And I tried too in my early days to write some informative posts. But recently I am seeing a dearth by us all to share information openly. Why? I see some reasons - 1. Many hacks posted here are getting immediately blocked by the service providers. So it seems their spies are ruling roost here. 2. The leechers (aka people only interested to sell via this forum) are using this for ONLY financial gains without sharing something back to the forum. These sellers do find some interesting solutions but NEVER share it openly on the forum for fear of losing business. If they dont SHARE with us openly then what gives them the right to use this forum ONLY TO MILK PROFITS... 3. General disillusionment and lack of appreciation to the main contributors. Some Solutions, I propose - 1. Immediately cancel all existing memberships of the Techie Enclave and overhaul it totally from scratch, closely scrutinising people wanting to be members with minimum technical requirement or post contribution as a primary criteria to become member of it. Also closely scrutinise to remove all Reliance Spies. ALSO ALL REGULAR SELLERS SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO BE MEMBERS OF TECHIE.... 2. Add minimum posts or reputation as a criteria to post in the buy/sell forum. No noobs should be allowed to sell under any circumstances. 3. Leechers (some of whome I see even in this discussion) to be highly controlled and even banned as and when they post irrelevant posts. I see we have no convention of BANNING irrelevant leechers like other forums. That should be started immediately. PS: Hope I am not he first one to get BANNED for raising certain delicate issues... -

Some more interesting screen shots - These include - - Rworld (yeah, its working), - Google Talk Application (only phone except perhaps Pre which has this); - Bookmarks (with scrolling previews, unbelievable); - Facebook Application; - All Programs (came in 4 shots); - Android Market (download 20000+ applications directly from phone); - Landscape Keyboard (better shot); - Text Editor Application (great for taking notes; there's also an inbuilt notes application where u can even scrible notes by hand; but this is more handy as it opens/edits immediately on PC); - Google Maps Application....

@ananth I just checked and clicked link in a sms and it asked me to select the link after which it went straight to the browser and opened the site; maybe the url sent to you was mistyped or not properly configured @ashok to send a group sms by default application (or you can use the very capable handcent program that I have recommened before), you first need to create a group. Open People (Contacts in android) - then roll your finger to the 3rd option on the scroll bar that you can view below on the screen i.e. Groups - Now click Add Group - the give the group a Name - then add the contacts you wish in that Group. (Also note that this group will be automatically synced to your Gmail account also and will be viewable after your next sync) - Once the group is created - click on that Group's Name and you will get 2 options - First to send group message and second to send group mail - choose group message - it goes into the sms application - Tap to compose your message and click send - to send to all the group recipients... Cut and paste in received sms is slightly tricky - to cut or copy from a received sms you first need to forward it and then select it by a long press in the text body and you will get the option of either cutting or copying - then you can either discard that message or save it to drafts and use the cut/copy matter in any other application... PS: Pls check the rom in which you are, as the original sprint roms specially 1.29 had several issues... I urge all to upgrade to 1.56 or even better to some good custom rom like modaco 1.3 (based on 1.56 base) which is very stable and trouble free and all the screen shots pasted by me are of that rom...

@punit strange, never happened to me; must be something wrong with your rom or the installed programs @ananth java application is built in; u will need to add the specific applications u need to it; the url's when clicked directly from text sms directly open browser window; who uses opera mini in a phone like hero; use the default browser or try dolphin browser which is supposed to be very good.... never had any heating issues till date...
