  1. How did Reliance replace the handset? What had hapened? They didn't replace mine. UT says that I tried to make changes to the ROM. The worst service from UT.

  3. I've Lost Half Of My Phonebook, Please Help Me Recover It...

I've had lots of screw ups with contacts. I've learnt that have outlook as the default address book, calendar, tasks, notes. Sync what's there in outlook to any device you like. Outlook is the main. Any problem like you loose your phone, loose data, data curruption, you can always recover.

  6. Verizon Cdma Will Work With Any Phone

I learnt this from another group. It can be checked on the net. "Verizon Wireless To Let You Use Any Phone On Its Network Posted Nov 28th 2007 11:23AM by Terrence O'Brien Filed under: Cell Phones, Google Verizon has announced, to the amazement of many of us cynics, that it will be opening up its wireless network to any device that meets a minimum set of technical standards, the specifics of which will be announced in early 2008. Those standards are likely to be something simple along the lines of connecting to the CDMA network that Verizon runs, and that don't interfere with wireless traffic. In fact Verizon Wireless Chief Marketing Officer, John Stratton, told a Dow Jones reporter that the devices in question need not be phones. He is quoted as saying the types of devices a customer could connect are "subject to the imagination of the marketplace." Hello, Kindle, Zune, and other wireless devices that are not phones. This means that, if you so desired, you could build your own phone, or mobile Internet device, or even portable video game system with high-speed EV-DO capabilities in your basement on a breadboard, take it or send it to the Verizon labs, and, if it passes muster, connect it to the Verizon network. But that's for geeks like us (or maybe you) -- what's more likely is that people will buy themselves an unlocked phone, or perhaps a phone from a small name builder, or maybe just carry over their Sprint or Alltel handsets. (Phones from T-Mobile and AT&T will not work because those operators use GSM, a different technology than Verizon.) Verizon also said it would allow users to surf the Web openly and download any independent, third-party applications. This kind of functionality has been available around the world for a while now, but it's a first for the United States. The long and short of it is you'll be able to pick and choose what you want to download to your phone, rather than rely on whatever Verizon offers you "on deck." It also means, most likely, that users will be able to download porn for the first time onto their phones (again, something that the rest of the world has been able to do for a while). " Here is the link http://money.cnn.com/2007/11/27/technology...sion=2007112718 Sounds good. When is Reliance doing this?

Yes 700P on reliance, every thing is possible of course I was guided by some one in canada who has mastered treos. If u have 700P or 755P and want to use on reliance let me know, I will assist you in doing so. In treo they removed delivery reports from many OEM as well as non OEM devices. In some ROM versions it is available so some tweaking may get you SMS delivery report. The msg which you have sent, the delivery report remains there. If sent to more than one person then you can tap on it get get status for all.
  9. Blackberry 8703e

I do get the delivery reports. This is on GSM. I think this is to do with GSM and reliance.

I'm very happy with Treo 680. There are few things where windows is better than Palm. This is in relation to the information. If I open a contact in windows it's crazy, I'd love to open in palm. I feel palm is much better and stable device. Windows hangs a lot. I've removed many programs that I had for the hanging. Now it's running ok. It's more like a phone than a pda except the sync with outlook. Treo 680 does not crash. It would crash when a program is installed and has some conflict. I'm very happy with palm.
  11. Blackberry 8703e

The suggestions were good. My situation is like this. I have Vodafone on Treo 680, Reliance on PPC6700. After this it would be tough to carry a BB from Airtel. I have got a solution on Vodafone with Treo. I've loaded Chatteremail and keep GPRS on when I'm not in office. I don't have BB connect but it acts in that way. I get immi alert when a mail arrives in my account. I prefer replying by gmail as it's imap and so i have the copy of the sent mail for my reference. I think I'll just hold on with things in this way unless a better option comes up.

Can the bb enterprise server can work as exchange or dominos server? Can the enterprise server store mails so can load on laptop/desktop? This is very important. I want the sent msgs. be saved to sent folder on the server(if it saves on bb enterprise server) so when /i connect my desktop/laptop i get them into my sent folder. This way I remain upto date on laptop/desktop. I use outlook for emails.
  16. Missing Hutch

The rates of Vodafone worldwide are higher than the other operators while international roaming. IF the charges are lower(I don't think there's any place where charges are lower) the coverage is bad. They are no. 1 mobile service company in the world. You know who the big cheater is? Hutch/3 has very good service all over in the area of their presence. Vishal
  17. Rimweb - Mumbai Meet -IV

That's definately a good idea. I'm in. Probably try and arrange in such a way that people can come from Maharashtra also. Let's make it a big success. Cheers, Vishal Sheth
  18. 19-sep-2007, Day Of Records

It looks like a day of recoeds.
  19. This would totally depend on individual choice. I'd prefer a single no. worldwide with single handset. I use Hutch now, I'd love it with Reliance if I can get the same no.(which is available) with same handset(this is not available). Presently, for Reliance, one has to have different phone while roaming the world.
  20. This would be really nice. I'm waiting for such handsets on windows and Palm based devices.
  21. Problems With Utstarcom Handset

Hey guys, If anyone has faced problems of any nature with UTStarcom handsets then do mail to Reliance on the following contact no. Your problem could have been major or minor, be it the speaker not working properly or calls not going through or any kind of problem. This is so that Reliance learns of our problems. They think that the handset is good and noone has got any problems with the handset. 24. Who Really Used Ppc 6700 From Reliance?

I've sent it to UTStarcom. Sending to Reliance is useless as according to them although this handset was bought from Worli office, they say it's bought directly and cannot do anything. I need to talk to the supplier of the handset. This is when the + dialing was not solved nd I was not able to dial from memory. Now I have magicall so have not to worry for the same. The UTStarcom has the phone and I'm sure they'll do a good job. The phone is in warranty. So I'm trying to meet someone who has bought from reliance and upgraded the ROM. waqnt to see it live.
  25. Who Really Used Ppc 6700 From Reliance?

Well friends, I've bought it from reliance. I don't think i would be interested in teasing them. I'd like to know as who'll have bought from reliance and updated the rom by hetal? I wanted to see the handsets live if possible. This is my 1st ppc, also never have flashed roms. So wanted to be really sure on what's happening. If people donot waqnt to post it here, they can mail me on vusheth@gmail.com. guys do mention your names as i can talk to you over the phone. I'm in Bombay and also would like to meet up. Let me also throw light on the poor quality handset of reliance. Since saturday night my phone does not connect to reliance network. I restarted, hard reset done. The radio module is not mounting. On restart, it shows the radio no, also in the device info it does not show. My uncle bought with me and he cannot hear anything nor can the other person hear. Utstar is getting that part from Taiwan. I think after spending Rs. 33000, I don't think anyone would expect such cheap stuff. I wish I would have known then I would have worked my way out earlier.
