But in my phone(n191) it gets deleted every 48 hrs or so. So does RSurf favoutites menu.

Well but if they delink direct handset sales.. we may not get these highly discounted models. We got to pay the price as decided by the manufacturer, isn't it? But then we can always move betn cdma operators and also new connections(no change) from the same operator.

Now Opera uses different rendering engine than IE. If opera can render the drop down menu... then the menu does not use IE only tags created by MS to retain monoploy. So if Opera can open it, Firefox should also be able to... but it fails. So it is a prob with Mozilla engine. Anyways, MS may hv created some customized tags but designers must be finding them helpful and thats why they r using them. More over in the case of amaeture sites, most of them r designed using Frontpage which incorporates many only IE features. Visit to DHTML help sites show almost 60pc of codes xclusive for IE or u need additional codes to make the same work in other browsers. So if u use IE u can be sure not to miss any part of a site. So even if u hv Firefox & others u just can't kick off IE .

Just one disturbing pt.... in this 3105 display is only 4096 and no support 4 streaming media. Theres this unusual issue with nokia. They have one of the best softwares and compatibility yet look at their display. They r stuck with 4096 colour displays. All the upcoming colour cdma models have 4096 colours... even the camera models. Only the top of range 6255 has 65000 colours. (Samsung and LG high ends support 256k colours) Again most of these doesn't support streaming media... some support video playback only after download. Again its only this 6255 which supports streaming. Now don't u this r the basic advantages of having cdma phones. Even samsung n-191 supports streaming media. I just can't understand why nokia reserves these features for high end cells. Well in GSM it can be understood bcoz EDGE is req 4 stream... so its only in high end handsets. So when these nokia handsets r released we'll either have to choose betwn of nokia or standard features cdma available in samsung/lg models.

Vishal is right, I'm talking about relianceinfo.com. Anyone with any solution? please help. And redshift, Firefox is running quite fast... I like the 'favourite' toolbar on top and the tabs. but if deepu_vk(RIM website is optimized for Internet Explorer. It may not work perfectly on Firefox) is correct, then see this is the compatibility error that i was talking about which non ie browsers suffer.

hi, I've recently downloaded Firefox using it 4 the first time. The Quick Links (dropdown menu) in RIM website is not working in firefox, on clicking the dropdown button the menu drops down but on clicking the options in the menu nothing happens altough its allright in IE. Please help

hey, Airtel will perish... in following RIM tariffs. Are the giving 80p calls to others. Since Airtel is new in UPE so u dont have many airtel nos. to call. As it is people r sending free SMS in thousands (by changing SMS centre no.). How much can it bear.
-
must b a typo... may be 60p/min

It seems Reliance has a strange policy of keeping their customers totally under thier grip. No 3rd party meddlings. So u cant download tones/pics/games inspite of having java phone, nor MMS to others and even not petty EMS. RIM just don't want to share with thier revenue. OR may be they dont follow standards so these 3rd parties r not compatible. Even in there handsets there no local web browser... use the clumsy one in RWorld...favs automaticaly gets deleted, no opts like pics on/off etc. Now they better start opening up and handshake with standards. May be later handsets will more conform to the standards. Atleast this LG model has resident MMS.

Theres no direct link on RIM site. Heres where u'll find it http://www.relianceinfo.com/Infocomm/Rim/h..._nokia3105.html And heres the official nokia page of 3105cdma: http://www.nokia.co.in/nokia/0,8764,45342,00.html But it does not support VIDEO !!

I use DAP and am xperiencing a problem. When I click on any download link the dialogue box : Choose download type-[ REGULAR / ACCELERATED ] comes up and every thing is fine. . It even works with the automatic links (ones whic shows a page 'Your file is being downloaded.') But when ever I download from Download.com the regular windows open/save dialogue box comes up. If I right click and select 'download with dap then either the webpage only gets downloade or some file of size same of the software gets donloaded which isnt recognised by win. The same happens even when trying links from 'click here for more links' link. So seasoned DAP users Any solutions ?

Sierra's price is not mentioned at RIM website. But it may cost more as it also supports voice calls. GTran card only supported RConnect and SMS.(one way i think, can't remember) And Niket, do you get a RIM no. with GTran card?
-
Ya animated avatars r working fine
-
Ya most of the RConnect users connect from home but theres diff bet how u access RConnect i.e via RIM or RIP. This was what I was telling... reliance wants those who want cheaper access to take up RIP just as BSNL service on landline. And since it targets common man so it is continuously reducing tariffs of the feature that most mobile users(common man) look for : voice call rates. And with launch of Broadband they want to separate phone/mobile and internet. Thus allowing customers with very high net usage a solution while Netway as a complete family entertaintment package.
-
I'd read in a newspaper article, rim has RConnect specially targeted at 'mobile executive' section who'll need net on the move ( using laptops). Thats why such high rates. It wants home users dare not use mobiles but use Reliance landline (like bsnl) to access net. But now even wireless has come down thanx to Tata. Its trying to take the advantage of being the only provider of high speed connectios(compared to sancharnet dial up) in most of India. Wait for tata expanding thier network ( it'll soon launch its service WB and Kolkata circles)... RIM will have 2 change 'mobile executive' with 'home users'

Ya, u miss the right click menu. And also win start menu in hide win taskbar mode. And here u'll get some more beautiful themes for Talisman. http://pcdesktops.emuunlim.com/downloads/talisman2

No doubts about this :: WinXP is more stable than WIN98. When using WIN98 the blue screen used to come up so freqntly that i gave pref to Linux. But once I started using WnXP prof I've forgotten about all other OSes. It gives u stability combined with style, user friendliness, aesthetics, features. So if ur PC supports WinXP( I think most guys' comp does) give it a try. You'll soon find ur self saying '' I'm lovin it '' (McDonald style)

hi Redshift, i think i'm the second group of vegetarian. as u'v said it peace now. Anyways, influenced by posts here i've downloaded Firefox.
-
As soon as I downloaded this eicarcom2.zip thru DAP, NAV2002 detected it as a virus... instantly.

RConnect was one of the attractions of RIM. But it seems they are now only interested in reducing voice calls. If they hv actually witdrwn 200pm plan that means min rate comes to 60/hr--- too much. And what wll happn to the existing 200pm subscribers? I think its for the new customers. They can come up with specific rcvs/plan for rconnect users... may be a bit higher voice calls but much lower data calls.

Have u tried this software called Talisman Desktop. http://www.lighttek.com) It has similar thems which let u change the entire look of xp. Infact theres a theme exactly like the 1st screenshot in redshifts post. And you can edit any aspect of the theme in any parameter. You can even add links, buttons, menu etc dirctly on the desktop... and do everything visually. But its a shareware. Editing is allowed for first few weeks. Heres some screenshots: ---------------------------------- ----------------------------------
