Google Opens Up Android Codebase:- (Source:- Slashdot) "It's official: Google has Open Sources Android. The source code can be downloaded from Android's Git repository. Bugs are handled at the Google Code Android project page with documentation being handled by a collection of Google Site pages. One of the more interesting aspects of Android seems to be the seemingly Eclipse Foundation-like organization of the project, welcoming both Individual and Commercial developers into the Android development pot. One of the benefits of this arrangement is securing the existence of the project by involving commercial interests and their money in the process ... this is also one of the downsides; having commercial entities charter and lead features of a platform that their own commercial offerings provide 'enhanced' versions of, sometimes leaving the free offering always lacking in one obvious way or another. It's hard to say at this point how involved Google will be in this process, or the Open Handset Alliance in general, with managing the health of sub-projects under the Android umbrella as time goes on."

How to get Google Android running on a HTC Mogul (aka Titan, PPC-6800). Last update - 05.01.2009 To run Android on your’s Mogul you need: 1) Unzip this package to the root of SD Card (you should not replace data.img if you want to keep your settings) 2) Start “haret.exe” and press “Run” Notes: 1) If you get errors while unpacking system.img or data.img - then unpack them by hand, rename if needed, and then run 2) Key mapping: * D-Pad - Enter * Win - Menu * Ok - Enter * Left softkey - Back * Right softkey - Enter * Voice Commander - Home * Side Ok - Back * Power - Volume Up * Comm Manager - Volume Down * Camera - Escape * Wheel press - Enter * Wheek scroll - up/down * Email - switch to console * Internet - switch to GUI Status: * Voice calls - fully works * SMS - should work, I have not tested it * Keyboard - fully works * Front keys - works partially (D-pad direction is not detected) * Power saving - power collapse works fine, hovewer panel if not turned off (need to find correct mddi data, if trying Vogue’s - panel cannot be turned on after sleep) * Internet - works ok, hovewer connection need to be restarted manually if disconnected * Battery meter and charging - works ok, but not well calibrated (gives me 97% while phone is fully charged) * Touch screen - works ok, but not well calibrated * Sound - works ok * WiFi - does not work * BlueTooch - have not tested * IrDa - have not tested * Camera - does not work * GPS - does not work Tips: * Hold Home button to show recent tasks * Use Togga application to turn internet on/off, it is in data.img. You can also get if from Togga Application Code from Google * To install an application, put it into AndroidApps (letter case matters!) forder on a root of SD Card. Download: sorry, file is moved to depositfiles as my site is about to reach bandwidth limit full package: is here patch for Vogue’s kernel:: patch against last commit Link (Source from:- Android For Titan) Thanks & Regards,

Getting Error Code While Trying To Connect To Net On 6900
dhullazaran replied to Anupe's topic in HTC
Yes Dhiraj, I'm assuming the procedure should work on the Mogul as well, since both are running on more or less the same platform. To start right from the beginning: (1)Hook up PPC to computer thru ActiveSync, with Hetal's extended ROM extracted into SD card so that two folders called Boot and Service and a SD Config text file are located in the SD card. (2)Bring up the bootloader and flash Sprint Leaked ROM and let it install. (Please ensure you have already unlocked using Cokeman's unlocker if you are doing this for the first time!!) (3)Remove USB connection to computer and let Initial booting up of PPC happen, giving about 30 seconds time before calibrating stylus, etc. (4)Soft reset BEFORE Sprint customisation takes place ( when you see you have 3 seconds for Sprint customising to begin, immediately do the soft reset!!) (5)After the PPC boots up completely, check connection setting to see if Hetals cabs have been loaded, if not, run the cabs from Service folder in your SD card. The cabs which need to be installed are HP_Rel_MobileWorld, HP_Rel_NetConnect and Reliance3.sa. (6)After making sure now the Reliance settings are visible in your connection settings, soft reset once more and let PPC re-start. (7)On your desktop, right click and create new text file and rename it as HTC_CM_Guardian.exe. (8)Download and install Total Commander (cab or windows installer version) from HERE on your PPC. (9)Now connect your PPC to computer and upload the HTC_CM_Guardian file you had earlier created and save it on your SD card. (10)Browse to the Program folder on your phone and delete the folder named IOTA from there.(Use Total Commander if the folder is not visible with File Explorer) (11)Using Total Commander, browse to Windows folder and replace the HTC_CM_Guardian.exe file you will find inside there, with the 0byte HTC_CM_Guardian folder you have in your SD card. (12)Close all applications, disconnect from USB cable and soft rest your PPC. (13)When PPC has fully booted up, Go to Setting/Connections/Manage my Connections and delete the Sprint dialer you see inside there and click OK. (14) Next go to the Advanced tab and under Select Networks, select Reliance MobileWorld as your Network and click OK. (15)Test you connection now using Internet Explorer, your phone should be able to connect to the Net directly. (16)Soft reset once more, and after phone has fully restarted, click IE and check if Net is being connected. It should be working perfectly fine. ENJOY!!! This should solve the issue once and for all. Hope you guys will find it useful. sir, even after doing this i am not able to connect to internet. The error i am getting is "cannot connect" "dialed: #777" Please help. sir, now the error has gone, but now i am getting login page for reliance mobile world and its asking me for Username / Password / Domain. what should i do now. -

Reliance Communications Launches GSM Telephony Services
dhullazaran replied to saketsamir's topic in Miscellaneous
I just visited Relaince outlet in Mumbai and asked him about the Launch of GSM, and he showed me the mail received from Reliance stating:- * GSM will Launch within 2/3 Days. * The connection will be test sim cards. * There will be some lack of services. * They say that it will be billing(Postpaid), but when this Reliance dealer got training at that time they said that it will be prepaid. Things are still not clear regarding this. So people lets hope that, if we take this information as true then by Monday i.e. 5th Jan 2009. GSM will get launched. Do let me know if any update about the same. Thanks & Regards, Zaran Dhulla -

This was the Subject from CNBC - TV18. R-Comm to roll out nationwide GSM service by June'09 Published on Tue, Dec 30, 2008 at 15:12 , Updated at Wed, Dec 31, 2008 at 11:10 Source : CNBC-TV18 The dates are been forwarded, even i asked one of my friends in Reliance he said me that they are coming with a new brand from GSM & CDMA, so that might be the reason to the delay. Now its time to just wait for further Notice. Regards, Zaran Dhulla -
