Now that the ADD SLIDE thing does work and MMS Portal is restored, i'm a lil wary that its gonna surely be charged!! What do u guys say?

xshay421, handset prices do keep changing, according to their popularity and demand. Handsets like 6225 & 6130, had starting prices in the range of Rs. 8k to 10k when they were launched. They are now in the range of 6k to 8k, and all this happened in a couple of months. LG 6000, has more or less stood by that price tag since the beginning, coz of its demand and popularity. It kind of remained an exclusive product. I believe in any case, if u want to upgrade from 6130, which is quite a good phone, u must wait, atleast for a month!

With so many LG CDMA handsets in the market now, am sure there wud be plenty of LG Accessories available in the market now(Not the Webworld). Accessories like Body-Covers, Handsfree, Chargers etc! I found one such place... Heres the details! Mobile Shoppee, Sahakari Bhandar, Opp. Bandra Rly Stn, Bandra(W), Mumbai - 50 Body Covers avl for RD2030 @ Rs. 130/-(negotiable) --- Colours - Black, Silver and White) Black looks awesome(but the problem is the damn battery) New Unbranded Battery for LG2030 @ Rs. 400/-(Negotiable). So, with the default plan, on a DAPO, would the charges be deducted from free call mins, like we had earlier? Is there some option there, to let plan mins be deducted or not?
-
If thats the case, i wonder y isn't it listed in the RIM/RIP list of R-Connect Plans! A communications company doesn't have a website correct!!!
-
Dude, that scheme went off from RIP, coz RIP wasn't considered a landline by TDSAT etc... thats the issue. If its considered a Landline, it'll surely come back. Its not really the COAI who must be blamed for this mess. If you read properly, its the COAI exploiting the loopholes in our dear government's policies! So darn these bureaucrats and politicians!
-
Belated wishes, Ashok!! Hope u had a blast! Keep having it all the year
-
EYES WIDE OPEN at this hour!! That + sign reflects only on the plan for R-Connect CARD and not for RIM/FWP.
-
What i meant is that TATA is using the same old trick that RIM used ages back by procuring Cheap handsets from manufacturers and selling them in the range of 2500-5000. Its a simple marketing game plan! nothing else.Obviously the tariffs wud look good initially, coz they were the first to offer... Slowly all operators wud line up in the same queue, jus as we saw everybody following RIM. So hold ur breath. TATA is still no where close to RIM when Network comes into play in all the circles put together... If calling TATA to TATA is what they want to portray, how many TATA mobile frenz wud u have, compared to RIM or other operators. I believe, its a good re-start for TATA to get a holding in the market. Lets wait n watch wat other operators do in a month or so, before jumping in for TATA. As far as handsets go, GSM still outweighs CDMA. CDMA operators need to release the handset monopoly to really get the growth in their subscriber base!
-
But there is a factor of R-Connect Rental in all RIM plans. Except for R-Connect Card where one of the plan doesn't have a rental... correct?
-
So now there aren't any plans with zero R-Connect Monthly commitment? where i can pay as per use, per min?
-
What?? which one r u talking abt?
-
Lolz! No apologies needed, dude! yeh, 0123 seems to be too good.. But on a long term basis, even RIM offered us some great stuff and now it almost seems to be some fume!! So wait n watch... No point getting a cheap handset jus for some "scheme"!
-
Essar is not jus about Steel... Its grown real big over the years like the TATAs Birlas and Ambanis... Essar is into Shipping,Constructions, Telecom, Power, Oil & Gas, AGRO, IT, Publications, BPO and so much more already!! Its abt a huge corporate which has not come much into the limelight until recent times!
-
All entry level handsets seem to be of the category of Rs. 500-1000. This same strategy was used by RIM in a very effective manner during its launch! So, keeping ur mobile live for incoming for 2 yrs at a cost of 2000 is quite a good marketing gimmik! And moreover, all those who rave that TATA gives 100% talktime on its prepaid, can please check up its tariffs as well.

COAI or TRAI, vb?
-
65k colour screen! is that wat i read? Y do they do this!! Seems to be a relaunch of 6225 in a new package!
-
why wud u want a static IP?
-
Orange doesn't appeal to me as much!! As far as customer care execs go, they are close to wat RIM has! I have one Network problem pending with them for months! According to them, its solved... Planning to shift that phone to Airtel now!
-
posts in all other forums "except" General Chat are counted. So lots to post, iceman! Meet ... meet ... Am IN. This time, probs Shivaji Park?? Quite central a location!
-
very sure. Its not available on call. The marketing execs visit the premises of customers, where their fibre optic lines are ready to use!
-
Does USB or Serial cable, both give similar performances for PC-Sync etc?? Serial Cables are low-priced, and am not really looking for R-Connect, so which wud be recommended?

I was in one of the offices along the Andheri-Kurla Road, Mumbai yesterday, when an Airtel Marketing guy walked in and was trying to push his Airtel Landline to the owner! Details that i heard -- Its a Landline + Internet Connection. No security Deposits. 10 mins of ISD free for 1 Number. 100 mins of STD free for 1 National Number 1000 mins of Local Calls free for 1 Local Number Quite a deal... Charges, dont know much!
