Interesting Wishes!! Any wishes regarding a simple utility service or something on R-World?

You rather visit the Insurance Tribunal / Redressal Forum... than trying to crack National Insurance's office. National Insurance went into a big loss dealing with RIM. And it stopped servicing its clients. I know thats no way to work but thts wat they chose! Its a simple biz strategy. The one who knocks the court, would get his/her claim... Rest keep waiting!

I have read abt Bangalore and its state of administration and infrastructure several times earlier. At rediff, u'll find many more such articles. Never visited Bangalore, but from wat i read, i believe it really needs a change in the mindset for something to happen. Am not advocating here... Mumbai is no better, either!! The city has gone down the drain! trust me on that. We live here and so we know. No doubt, the number of ppl are much more here, and hence the available infrastructure seems less, ex: public transport / roads etc. What is really needed in most metros, is more of an over all haul... rather than efforts in tits n bits. What generally is seen is that plans r drawn keeping in mind the term as next 10-20 yrs... but they dont seem to take shape till the next 10yrs in reality and then it becomes a real waste of time and most importantly, money!! In Mumbai, the best examples are the Bandra - Worli - Nariman Point Sealink, Skybuses, MUTP, MUIP, 50 flyovers... which haven't taken shape or took shape so late, that they never served their purpose at a time when it was really reqd! Town Planning & its management is a very different kind of work and is really not the job of politicians. Every thing that they seem to be doing is keeping in mind, their votebanks... and hence its all a big waste! What we need, is more citizen participation in the governance of our cities/towns/villages. We need more sane public opinions, rather than useless litigations, which drive the whole purpose of a project to zero. Lets hear more from others...

I guess it can work, if simply a small antenna(for signal reception) is placed on top of the building(terrace/roof) and then the wiring is used as a last mile connectivity to the subscribers home. It might involve some cost and Subscribers can bear a part of it, but it will ensure the current tariffs for more time!!

MTNL to offer phone, broadband, cable on one line Rediff.com September 19, 2005 12:36 IST Faced with the challenge of retaining subscribers, state-owned MTNL is launching a 3-in-1 service, offering voice, broadband and cable TV on a single line while assuring affordability to its customers. "We have already procured equipment and installation is on. We are planning to launch this service in November. Our subscribers would be able to get all three -- voice telephony, broadband and cable TV along with video-on-demand on single telephpone line," MTNL's CMD R S P Sinha said. Asked about the charges for all these services, Sinha declined to give figures saying these were yet to be finalised but assured affordability. "We shall be re-writing and repositioning MTNL with the launch of this service called TriplePlay," Sinha said. MTNL has already tied up with about 25 TV channels, including AajTak, BBC and some other regional channels which are free-to-air, and the company is in negotiations with other channels for similar agreements, Sinha said. MTNL is planning to offer at least 200 channels in all. Sinha said MTNL has a lot more to offer to its subscribers and the company was planning a series of such offers in the months to come. Claiming to have 40,000 broadband subscribers, MTNL has a capacity to add 500,000 customers and is planning to enhance the capacity to 1.5 million next year. For video-on-demand, Sinha said the company was talking to various content providers and a decision would be taken soon on all these matters to launch the services in November. For video-on-demand, Sinha said, there would be nominal charges and these would be billed into a consolidated bill. MTNL is also planning to talk to distributors to have premier shows of new films depending upon the demand and subscribers' ability to pay. On assured demand from subscribers MTNL would tie-up for showing premiers of new releases. To offer TriplePlay, MTNL had placed orders for Multi-Protocol Playing Label Switches with the Sterlite-Huawei consortium for about Rs 53 crore (Rs 530 million). Sinha said all these schemes and new initiatives would yield the results after 8-10 months once they get stabilised.

It'll depend on wat u want and not on wat is available. So list down wat all u want in a phone/budget and then u'll be able to make a wise choice!

They provided me with the Backup of the phone book only. Rest was all gone!! Anyways the phone book can be uploaded to R-World. I'd still suggest u go for a Firmware Upgrade. U can always put the tones/wallpapers again now!

I checked the portal, it sure works fine!

Well i searched quite alot but couldn't find a website similar to that, for AUSPI where we could see the city-wise MSC codes of RIM and TATA. That would be really helpful!

Can u tell us what are the account Settings u've kept for the Incoming and Outgoing Mail Server?? -
MSC Codes I am surprised to see so many new MSC Codes... Especially the ones that begin with 99xxx and 97xxx. I had thought that 97xxx was assigned to Bharti, but i think they've got 99xxx. Hutch has got 97xxx. But these ppl haven't shifted all of their subscribers to these series! Anyways, check them out!!

Since u've used an LG fone. And if u like its functionality. I would suggest you go for LG 5130/6130 or LG 2430. They would be quite good for your requirement.

umm, no one can really tell unless they see the handset. Its ur own choice. Though, the second hand handset market has really gone down. Second-hand reliance phones like 2030 r available for as low as 500 bucks!

MMS or SMS Portal was never commercially launched! So hope that it gets launched commercially in a much better format! Now dont ask me if it'll be paid!
