Well well, i assumed that u were using a 6130. Thats wat the thread is abt. This MMS Portal will work only for 6130 or 6000 handsets as of now. If u've logged in from any other handset Number/Password, it wont work. And yes, they know which handset u r using. Thats how they relay the specific R-World Content for u!

SMS charges r 60p for Local(intra-circle) and if u add the 40p for delivery report it becomes 1.00! RIM Postpaid plans offer sms nationwide at 50p!

If u r registered at the site and have a valid Password, then wat is left is to visit the MMS Portal and login there and compose ur MMS with Wallpapers and Ringtones! Shud work. Try that out and let us know. Nokia aspirers are barred from this thread! 6225 info on the Nokia Forum. Not here!

Though i'm not very sure wid statistics to back up, but If u notice 6130 screens are squarish in shape. That means, u need a wallpaper which is square, like x pixel by x pixel. Try that, i've most wallpapers which fill the entire screen! And i dont seem to like them, coz it goes behind the clock!! Check out the LOTR wallpaper on the forum, it fits completely on the screen! ani_meher, did u try registering ur phone at the MY BILL section of Postpaid?? Does it work for prepaid? I know its silly but want to confirm, whether u r able to get a password that ways?

I haven't tried any other methods, except for MMS Portal and Email from rediffmail. But now emails dont easily get thru. I had tried emailing a pic from the Gallery to my rediffmail account abt a month back but that also didn't get thru. So i think the MMS Portal for uploading is the best option available. If u r a very new 6130 user, it might take a couple of days for u to be able to use the MMS Portal. Thats wat had happened for me and my cousin's phones. But am not really sure abt the prepaid thingy, coz u dont have billing password!

Colleges down south are damn weird!! I had a weird experience at Satyabama, Chennai 2 yrs back! guys n gals cant talk or walk together in this 21st century in that college campus. No trees in the campus so that no two ppl can sit below them n mingle!! I mean, wat kind of thinking is that!!Phones have become an essential part of our lives. Banning them is not an answer to it. Phone etiquette is wat is really required.

What we really need is reviews like that of 2030 and 6255(recently posted), which are really so extensive and carefully put together by one person that it becomes decent enuf to make choices! Yeh, Puneet's idea of largely assimilating all the available information of the handset at the forum sounds good too!!

Y do u find MMS method so discouraging? Their MMS Portal is so amazingly good that u dont need to go thru the 1st SMTP method for MMS! I've never used 1st SMTP for my 6130. MMS Portal has always worked good for me! 6130 is one of the most accepted handsets in the RIM bouquet! If u check out the forum stats as well, after the 2030, 6130 ranks as the next most used handset!

ppl dont end up paying taxes, becoz there are 101 loopholes in the tax paying structure. And mr. Chidambaram is doing all things possible to make every commoner accountable these days. Read Fringe Benefit Tax, VAT, n banks to be disclosing interests payable below 5000.So by increasing taxes, all these yrs the government was trying to collect more taxes. Wat is more imp is to "reduce" corruption and reduce the number of loopholes in the system. And also reduce the multiple no. of "ID CARDS" and improve the efficiency of the entire system by labelling every individual of the country thru a common Social Security Number and linking every damn thing of his life to this 1 number and that wud make sure he wud never be able to evade taxes thru his multiple bank accounts, cell-phones etc etc...

Security Alert!!! Registry Errors
Chirag replied to RajanPERT's topic in General Technical Discussion
naah.. its not the pop ups which is an issue wid him, its the spyware which runs in the background in the comp. So after installing Lavasoft Ad-aware, scan ur machine after logging in the SAFE MODE of the OS. That ways, it keeps the least number of proggies running and also these spywares dont run and can be effectively deleted or quarantined. This was told to me by Manoj, which really helped me. -
haha, i had used this.. it really worked!!

Topic is 6130vs6225... Older phones out of the minds!

This is a virus which i had on my machine some time back. U'd need an updated version of antivirus(I used AVG) and preferably lavasoft ad-aware to remove stupid spywares from ur machine. -

And to top it all, they are investing alot of money into R&D right here in our own country!

With this we'll surely get all networks busy all time umm, unlimited std is still a distant thing. This is jus a policy intimation to TRAI. now how TRAI goes on implementing it is to be seen. And more over, ADC has not completely gone. Am i making out the right thing out of this article? Puneet will be able to put more light on this...

Infact arun, when searching for Reliance IndiaMobile or Reliance India Mobile i see that rimweb.com is back on its 2nd position!! I wonder how that happened once again. Jus a week back, the ratings had gone down! Remember we had the ratings good on reliance indiamobile and not on reliance india mobile sometime back. Thats when we edited certain pages to incorporate it! But it seems its going good. waiting to see rimweb.in at the top position on the search engines soon.

Spam calls and Citibank Rediff.com | August 23, 2005 Spam or junk mail is ubiquitous. But, so far as e-mail is concerned, you can at least set filters. Spam snail mail is also easy to handle. A byproduct of liberalisation is that everything useful seems to come through courier services, while everything that comes through regular post is invariably junk. Therefore, you can safely tear up the latter, without even bothering to read it. But I still don't know how to handle spam phone calls. Caller IDs or contact lists aren't good enough, because there are always non-spam calls from people who aren't on such lists. Some variation of Murphy's or Sod's Law seems to apply to such spam calls. They always occur at the most inconvenient time possible. For instance, on a landline, at three in the afternoon on a Sunday. And on a mobile, when you are in a meeting. Or worse, when you are in the bathroom. Mobile phones are more personal and less anonymous. It therefore irritates me all the more when such spam calls occur on my cell phone. There are no mobile phone directories. Therefore, you must have given your mobile phone number to someone, ignored the fine print that says that this information can be passed on, and that database has subsequently been sold to someone interested in tele-marketing. I wonder how much marketing success such spam callers have. And I wonder whether companies realise how much irritation such unsolicited calls cause and turn off existing or prospective customers. I have no idea whether the limited sample survey of unsolicited calls in our household is representative. But if you take a vote in our household today, the consensus will be that banks offering credit cards (or personal loans) are the worst culprits. Three years ago, hotels offering assorted memberships were a close second. Such calls are rarer now, implying that they have finally given up on us or that the hotel industry is doing better. And if you again take a vote in our household about which bank is the worst offender, the consensus will be Citibank. Standard Chartered, HDFC and ICICI will be a distant second. It has taken me two years to get out of Citibank's clutches. I have learnt, the hard way, that it is best to have a credit card issued by the bank with which you have an account. That way, if there is a problem, the bank sorts it out for you. But, as I said, I learnt this the hard way. I dispensed with pure Citibank cards a long time ago. But Citibank also has co-branded cards. And the last one that caused me several months of problems was a co-branded card with the India Habitat Centre. I didn't want the card. This was also before the RBI issued guidelines saying that unsolicited cards shouldn't be sent. Although I didn't want the card, because the IHC was involved, I accepted the card when it was sent to me, but changed my mind later. And my problems started. The card wouldn't get cancelled. I wasn't using the card. But I was being billed for annual charges and because I never got any bills, was defaulting on these charges. Even when I finally cleared these charges, I was defaulting on interest. As a defaulter, there were several calls from Citibank. In particular, a lady named Shalini. Everyone in the household got to recognise Shalini's voice. Not that Shalini could solve your problem. Because she was not from Customer Care. Not that anyone in Customer Care could solve your problem, either. Because every time, you talked to a different person and each such person ended up feeding your cancellation request into the computer and nothing changed. You ended up paying Citibank even though you didn't use the card. Eventually, the problem was solved and I was delighted when RBI guidelines surfaced. No more unwanted cards, no more unsolicited phone calls. I celebrated too soon. After these RBI guidelines were issued, I have now been sent a Citibank card, co-branded with Hutch. True, the card wasn't activated and wouldn't be, unless you wanted it to. But why was I sent an unwanted card? I rung up CitiPhone. Not to activate the card, but to complain. And spoke to someone named Vaishali, who promised a letter of apology, which never materialised. Quite independent of this card, I continue to get calls from Citibank, invariably on my mobile, offering assorted other cards. Reflecting the RBI guidelines, a brochure titled "Important Terms and Conditions" came with the Hutch co-branded card and states, "If you do not wish to receive any direct marketing or telecalling/telesales call from Citibank, please call 24-Hour CitiPhone and inform us." I have tried that as well, but it doesn't work. I have visited Citibank's website, to try and seek if I can be taken off the tele-calling database. No such option. So much for the RBI's guidelines. Personal grievances apart, the more important point is the one I mentioned earlier. Even if I want a financial product, thanks to these spam calls, I am unlikely to ever go to Citibank.

umm, out of curiosity may i know... that if rimweb.com co-exists with rimweb.in and ppl dont directly logon to rimweb.in and keep getting re-directed from rimweb.com, will its(rimweb.in) popularity on the search engines decrease?
