That is way expensive! Seems u've checked it up at a RWW! Check it up somewhere else! If u dont get it within 2000, then go for Samsung SLIM. Its avl mostly everywhere within 1500 bucks!

LG2030!! Atleast u can tweak it to the fullest!! And i guess its cheaper as well! LG2130 is the worst. N2280 is also a good sturdy handset if used only for voice n sms!

I'd like to get this thing under notice once again. Can we get our newly bought handsets an insurance cover with any company for loss/theft atleast?? Wat abt handsets that are converted to prepaid from DAPO? are they still part of insurance till the 3yr period?

If u have ever used any other RIM before, then u'd be thankful for this new Battery! Its quite better. U can be sure of this coz am on DAPO and i use SMS like hell. And yeh, Group SMS is definitely on this now with Ver15 so Mukeshbhai better hold his breath before he sees my SMS Usage this month I agree with both, Cam is good as well as bad. Coz it simply depends on the way it is used. Getting the right combination of different resolutions,flash and zoom and stillness of the hand is completely in the hands of the user. Isn't it the same with an SLR Cam? So u cant really blame LG for the cam. Maybe we need to get better at clicking snaps over a cell phone!! I've got both good pics and bad pics on the phone! Good quality of light is essential for the Cam for sure! Display is visible in daylight. PM me ur Cell no. and i'll get back to u, for where to purchase it from! I got it from a dealer in Kurla at a decent price with the help of "Munnamobile".

Munjal, I have a N191 with the same issue lying wid me. The exact amt they quoted is 5575. Since it was a DAPO connection and covered under insurance, they said it can be claimed. I Would like to know how much exactly would we get back in the claim? I've been told that abt 5425 would be returned. But according to general insurance policies i want to make sure that there is no depreciation attached to this and that whether they'd give that amt or deduct 25% or 50% since the handset is now 1.5yrs old! Can some1 explain more on this??

To add, The image can be a *.jpg and preferably less than 100kb in size. U can change the image in photoshop like s/w

The issue with 6130 is that the Display is blacked out if not in use and hence any animation would not b of much help. I guess that display going black itself is a screensaver, so may be some1 may explore possibilities of installing a screensaver.

I haven't had tht problem ever wid my handset, rookie. Can u tell me which s/w version is loaded on ur handset. Try n go for a s/w update to ur nearest ASC. Okies, the error still persists and i've noted down the complete error. It reads: defheap_free:free eWDefHeap. c123 with this, the handset hangs, restarts on its own. If any of u face the same thing, kindly report at the ASC. Alrite, now apart from all this would like to tell u what this S/w Upgrade has done! Something that wud make Dhirubhai scratch his head for sure! Version 15 has added one feature to the handset! Earlier as i had mentioned, we could only SMS to the Groups by scrolling 1 by 1 down and selecting the name. This hasn't been touched, but a new SMS Groups has been added to the Messages Menu which has actually made it possible to SMS to the entire Group(10 Members) at 1 go(with 1 press of a key)!! U can make 5 such groups(with 10 each)! Certainly 50 is less, but then ek DAPO customer ke liye yeh bahot hai! Let me know after u guys upgrade the s/w!

It costs approx 90-100 bucks for unlocking a handset at an LG ASC irrespective of being "in" or "out" of warranty. I read this at the LG ASC in Mumbai.

Haven't really tried it as yet. But have been passing on information to users of N2280 i know, abt this !!

I guess ppl here have given enuf reviews abt this phone. Its jus worth the bucks! Lately found that on powering ON (switching on) the handset, SMS cant be sent. Simple solution is to make a call(missed call) and then msg some1. I checked up with the ASC, and they affirmed the issue saying that unless a call is made, most handsets are not able to establish contact with the BTS(Tower). I dont remember facing this problem with 2030! Also in my recent trip to Jaipur, i had very grave issues with the phone giving errors after sending an SMS and then hanging up and rebooting. The error that was displayed was defheap.... heapdef c.123 or c.87 For this the ASC suggested, i observe the phone after the upgradation(ver 15) and report to them (on 9323190404) if the problem persists. Acc to them, they've still not recieved complaints for this error on 6130 (they have recd it for other models and for which the PCB needs to be replaced!) Quite an interesting handset though!! Wanted to know from any1, for sending sms to multiple nos. via Send to Group,... is there an easier way to insert nos. from the Group.(u got to scroll down to insert every no. - should have been a search feature in that as well )

Today, I went to the Mumbai Auth Service Center for a Error in the mobile that i get. Found out that on Monday they'd got a new s/w Version for 6130. Got it upgraded for my cell The details are: s/w : RD613F15 PRL : 2 JAVA: CLDC-1.0 MIDP-1.0 If they say its "not come", insist them to check it up on their LG Website & dl it for u! Interestingly on Monday, i had gone to the Jaipur ASC, they still had version 8 wid them, while i had version 9 pre-installed on my phone!!

U can, on getting a s/w upgrade (version 15)http://wap.yahoo.co.uk works fine on 6130!

Its becoz the post was merged into this existing thread. Hence the goof-up! Will keep checking for such stuff henceforth.

I found atleast 2 guys wid this problem today at the ASC. See if u can locate another service center in ur locality for this issue or check up lgmobiles.com and write an email to them abt the non-availability of the speaker.

I guess, VOICEMAIL is a service provided by Reliance & Answering Machine is a service provided by the handset manufacturer. For VoiceMail, check up the Reliance Website and for the handset, maybe u can look up the manual!

Search for the handset u have in the appropriate forum, and see if ppl have tweaked it to put their own tunes (widout paying anything to anyone). U'll get tonnes of tones at the Tech Forum as well.. Check it up!
