Chirag replied to Ashutosh's topic in Reliance Communications
Ashu, 1 more thing u cud do wud be to probably write to the Chairman's Office and mail them the entire details as u've mentioned here, with the agency's nos. and name of the person who called u, and mention that they better take action against the agency or else u'd take RIM to court! tht shud do, coz they r damn quick at replying frm the Chairman's office! Let us know wht u did! -

Quite an interesting Observation, tezo! With this i assume its jus a CSTN Display. Wht r the implications? Experts advice awaited!

Is it a crack on the top-most surface? or is it the crack on the LCD(if tht happens i guess, the liquid shud start flowing out)... If its jus a crack on the top surface(which is glass), then LG service Center might charge u close to Rs. 350/- for replacement! Worthless! I saw body covers avl @ Rs. 130/- in Mumbai, and in that ur top glass also gets replaced! Try n find such in ur city!

Seems to be a B/w display right? Approx cost abroad?

dont think that TATA has lesser amt of problems with their Billing! I can give u as many live examples of TATA billing problems u want!! The only advantage they have is that their customer base is jus a fraction compared to that of Reliance. And hence the hue n cry is lesser! Check out the speed and quality of the connection before goin for it.. Rest if at all u have any billing issues later, then jus keep the patience of settling them with RIM. It does get settled, only thing is tht it takes time!

Yeah, u can register just any email id as a .NET Passport, and use that as ur SIGN-IN Email Address. For this, u can register a New .NET Passport and enter a suitable password. and get going... Now sign-in with this email id and password. To change ur nickname, u need to make sure that u've confirmed ur email id from the mail sent to ur registered email address! And there u go! Add any other MSN Contact and u can chat up wid them! No need for a 2MB Hotmail account to access MSN!
-
Thts the reason i too got myself a hotmail id... But the day i found out that i can use just any email id (rediff or indiatimes or yahoo) to access MSN Messenger, i felt like a dumb!! Now i've passed on my hotmail id to most n hence cant afford to change it... But overall, viewing images and replying to emails to n fro to other hotmail acc. is much better with a hotmail acc. Its a different experience using each email id!

Trai Initiates Process For Mobile Telephone Direct
Chirag replied to city02's topic in Reliance Communications
May be, but at today's churn rate in Mobile & Fixed line connections will it be usefull and pracitcal to have such a directory. An online directory will definitely have an edge over Printed version coz of the ease in updation! Can be done at least once a month, if not everyday ! -
Upgradation is Free. And if u r lucky n there is no queue at the Service Center then upgradation wud take u just 20-25 mins!

Indian scientist working on $250 PC-phone-TV August 17, 2004 11:37 IST Last Updated: August 17, 2004 12:13 IST Rediff.com Can you imagine a machine that will serve as a computer, television, telephone and videophone and cost just $250? A researcher of Indian-origin has developed a PCtvt, a wireless network personal computer targeted at the four billion people around the world who live on less than $2,000 a year. Raj Reddy, a professor at Carnegie Mellon University at Pittsburgh, plans to unveil his new project at the end of the year. He feels it is possible to bring information technology within the reach of impoverished communities without depending on philanthropy, a media report said. As his low-cost computer doubles as a TV and a DVD player, Reddy believes he will be able to end the digital divide in developing countries, the New York Times reported. He says his device can find a market in developing countries, particularly those with large populations who cannot read, because the machine can be controlled by a simple TV remote control, the report said. Reddy has backing for his project from Microsoft and Trigem, the South Korean computer maker. He is working on it in partnership with the Indian Institute of Science, the Indian Institute of Information Technology and researchers at the University of California at Berkeley.

oopss.. never thot abt it.. Coz my dad's got a BPL connection. The thing in MIZONE is that after making a logo u get a LOGO code and u can SMS that LOGO code from any mobile to get the logo on ur mobile, hence i thot u all cud try it out.. But as far as getting access to MIZONE is concerned, i dont know if non-BPL nos would work. Y dont u try ur Reliance No. .. n if this doesn't work, try putting any of ur frnd's GSM no. ... coz all that it wud do at max, is send u a password on that Mobile No... There is nothing more confidential abt it...

I envy u guys, man! Enjoy! Reliance slashes prepaid tariff by 60% August 13, 2004 19:07 IST Rediff.com Reliance Infocomm on Friday drastically slashed mobile tariffs, reducing prepaid tariffs by about 60 per cent on Reliance IndiaMobile and offering virtually double the talktime available on competing prepaid services. Under this tariff structure, local and intra-circle calls from RIM Prepaid to any Reliance India Mobile (prepaid and post paid) and Reliance India Phone (FWP/FWT) is reduced to Rs 0.99 (from Rs 2.49). The local and intra-circle calls from RIM Prepaid to any other GSM operator has been reduced to Rs 1.79 (from Rs 2.49 to Rs 2.99). All inter-circle calls from RIM prepaid to any RIM or FWP/FWT anywhere in the country will now cost only Rs 1.79 (from Rs 2.99) and to other GSM operators and landline, it will cost only Rs.2 49 (from Rs 2.99 to Rs 3.99). A Reliance Infocomm media release claimed that these are the lowest mobile tariffs in the country. Announcing the new RIM prepaid tariffs, S P Shukla, president, wireless products and services, Reliance Infocomm said, "All existing as well as new RIM prepaid customers can avail of the new tariff benefits when they recharge with a new prepaid voucher of Rs 325." Reliance Infocomm has already lined up a range of mobile phones at affordable rates for the spread of mobile telephony in the country, from a data-enabled, multimedia black and white handset at Rs 2,499 to a colour display handset at Rs 4,999. Another advantage for RIM Prepaid customer will be that she/he can also roam on home tariffs across India. When roaming, out going calls will be charged at home tariff, whereas incoming calls will be charged at Rs 1.79 per minute, which is less than half of what the industry charges for roaming facility, said the media release. Voice mail retrieval will be at reduced home tariff rates of Rs 0.99/minute, against the lowest in the industry. Prepaid customers will also have access to 1234 SMS-based services and call management services like three-way conference call and caller line identification. It also offers a single toll free customer care access number across the country with an option of 9 different languages. Reliance Infocomm Ltd, a Reliance group company, is one of India's largest mobile service providers with over 8 million customers.
