1. Restart the phone(we tend to forget this! keep the fone on for 24hrs! ) 2. Reset the R-World Menu 3. Restart the phone most of the R-World prob end with this. And anything more than this is becoz of network prob. Jus register ur Complaint at RWW with ur address, and mostly such probs get rectified in a week.

Piyush's case is a bit different. He has a doubt on the internet billing and not the voice calls... I am not really sure whether u get itemised bill for R-Connect! Does any one have a clue on this? Piyush, they are obviously goin to tell u tht their billing is correct. But u can tell them that u have urself logged ur usage, and u r sure as to ur off-peak usage. So tell them not to jus give u an assurance tht the bill is correct but to also give u a log of ur R-Connect usage.

Good Question!! Well but the irony here is that u'd find more ppl at R-World these days coz its free and moreover there are live Cricket Updates avl there And non-DAPO users would always prefer R-World over 1234 SMS Service!! But yeh, overall i visit R-World once in a day to explore something new, or rather get informed abt whts up there, coz i seriously admire the quantity and the quality of content at R-World!! I think their venture of employing more than 1000 programmers only for R-World would now start paying off when they start charging for it...

Govt allows roaming on mobile for Pakistan March 13, 2004 16:53 IST Last Updated: March 13, 2004 17:06 IST Rediff.com The government on Saturday allowed roaming facility on mobile phones for Pakistan for a period of four months, apparently in the view of the ongoing Indo-Pak cricket series. "We have allowed roaming on mobile phones for 4 months only on experimental basis and the experience will be reviewed on June 15," Communications and IT Minister Arun Shourie told reporters in New Delhi. He said that Sunil Mittal-owned Bharti and Hutch would be in a position to offer roaming services to their subscribers within a day or so. The minister, however, said that such a facility would not be extended to Jammu and Kashmir and North Eastern regions. When contacted, AirTel spokesperson said they have already inked a bilateral agreement with MobiLink, the only GSM-based mobile service provider in Pakistan and AirTel's customers would be able to avail both voice and SMS facility with immediate effect. Asked if the roaming facility was allowed in view of the ongoing Indo-Pak cricket series, Shourie said: "This is part of the process Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee initiated for restoring normalcy between the two nations." He said that the roaming facility would be on a reciprocal basis. Attaching paramount importance to the security concerns, the minister said the review would be on the ground of the general situation and the feedback from the security agencies. He thanked the prime minister, the security agencies, the home ministry and External Affairs Minister Yashwant Sinha who cleared the proposal from his side, on Friday evening. He said that another private service provider Hutch was also working on it and was expected to make the roaming operational on Sunday. While state-owned BSNL, riding on the network of Spice, was in talks with MobiLink and is likely to provide service in next 2-3 days.

Credit Limit On Reliance Postpaid Subscribers
Chirag replied to bellamkonda's topic in Reliance Communications
yeps... tht stands for all cos... their credit limit can vary for person to person... If the person has defaulted on payments earlier... his/her credit limit would be reduced.... Its pretty normal now.. n Once u start paying regularly as per wht they say, u'll see ur credit limit being extended... -
Gartner warns against telecom bubble burst Source: Rediff News, Feb 19, 2004 The Indian telecom bubble may burst, just as it did in the US and European markets, if telecom service providers here lose sight of profits and keep focussing on expanding their subscriber base, according to telecom expert Bertrand Bidaud. "There is no doubt that the Indian telecom market is booming and has tremendous potential. However, the level of competition being so high, there is a risk that companies may lose sight of profits and treat subscriber growth as priority, which can land them into trouble," Bidaud, vice-president, telecommunications (Asia-Pacific), Gartner, said. According to the expert, while the wireless sector has seen tremendous growth, development in other telecom segments in India has not been very encouraging. "While the wireless sector is emerging as the important segment in telecom, other areas like Internet have been very disappointing," Bidaud said. According to Bidaud, the telecom regulator has a key role to play in seeing that there is no predatory pricing in the market. "A company that is too aggressive on subscriber growth can bring down the industry. The regulator has to step in, not just on issues relating to tariffs, but also on matters like interconnection and unbundling of services," said Bidaud. "Apart from keeping their sight on profit margins, Internet usage should be promoted. Operators will also do well to offer differentiated services in order to tap the corporate market," Bidaud said. On the services side, Bidaud said SMS would continue to be the money spinner for operators for some more time. Bidaud also predicted that there was ample room for growth in the Indian telecom industry, given that the usage level in India was still behind other developing markets in the Asia-Pacific region.

TRAI Releases Quarterly Performance Indicators.
Chirag replied to niket's topic in Reliance Communications
then such kind of a thing is like having one BSNL itself where the govt or some authority fixes up the tariff!! Thats not what private operators really want !! Thts like getting back to the old system! u can have competition only if there r more players and more tariffs etc etc... ! And only then u can see the rates dropping as we all witnessed in last 2 yrs.. Infact i feel that there should be one more new entrant in the telecom industry... A huge company i mean... We will see the fiercest battle then Is there any one ready to launch one!! -
hahaha.... Look at the funny side of the whole thing now... Once u de-list ur name from RIM dir, u can never enlist it back I came to know of it only when i delisted it!!

Wow, Samir that was so wonderfully described!! I really appreciate the way u put it down!

i just happened to use the Motorola 131 which is owned by my frnd... My experience with it was pretty much good. What i liked was its light weight, soft buttons and cool look!! What was sick was its extremely small alphabet display... it is really difficult to read something on it... and yes, its navigation for messaging is the same as of nokia 2280 or Samsung ... which i personally dont like,... Otherwise, in Rs. 3500/- its a fairly good deal...

TRAI Releases Quarterly Performance Indicators.

its absolutely impossible to create this situation.. and infact if this happens there'll be much more dominance by these two mega players... and we'll all be at their mercy!! I just dont want it! -
alrite... so how do u enter these commands? from where? and whts the basic idea of manually giving these commands? its there already in the phone... so whts the fun? Am a lay person for all this.. hope u dont mind answering these silly question!

Alrite... its still been my personal contention that Reliance Infocomm is just a Telecom operator(service provider) and hence it does not have any right to make it mandatory for customers to buy the handset from them only! I should be able to buy any damn CDMA handset (obviously compatible with their network.. i.e. 1x 2000 3G handset) from the open market and use it with their network as we do for GSM... MTNL(Garuda) allows this for its customers... y cant Reliance do that... A frnd of mine just told me that handsets sold by Reliance are available openly at Paris Bazaar in Chennai at a fraction of the cost at which Reliance boasts of selling... Like LG2030 is avl at Rs 2500 , Samsung 191 is avl at Rs. 3025 and even Nokia 2280 is avl there!! Can anyone from Chennai pls confirm the above information and let us know?? And can anyone from a legal background find out whether it is mandatory to buy handsets from Reliance?
