What s**ks big time for me in my handset is tht theres no option for Group msging or an option for Sendin an SMS to many at one stroke... Also the LG Desktop 1.0 doesn't really do anything more than editing the contacts. Also, the call duration history, automatically on its will, resets without doin anything to it!! Dunno how my total no. of calls reach 100 -500 and then 200 suddenly... Whts really reqd is a diff duration history for Recd calls and diff history for duration of Dialled Calls... Moreover, when the clock is switched on, the wallpaper gets cut off frm the top, whts the point!! There are so many other things tht cud be listed if each of us try and jot down the probs... y not make such a list and send it to the LG Cust Care at helpline@lgmobiles.com such tht they could include all these in their next upgrades...

this is the LG CDMA Mobile Website... and their email id listed there is helpline@lgmobiles.com .. I think this shud be working solely for CDMA handsets... can u prepare a list of probs in the handset in a real crisp manner such tht members from here can mail them abt this, and demand an urgent upgrade to the handset?

Yo !! thnx Niket! I Downloaded the new LG Desktop 1.0 !! Absolutely basic in nature, this has loads of things to have fun with! Am sure most will agree. Ok, can someone now prepare a easy step by step guide to using this? Coz a person like me, wouldn't like to lose his 250 contacts for something tht i can wrong with.. pls... There are options like TO DO and MEMO.. they dont work wid LG 2030 right? And in Contacts there are several other categories of information filling, like Pager No. or Contents or Middle Name or Category(Biz,Frenz) etc that would work with LG 2030... right?

As i said hovs, enuf of corresponding thru mails.... Thts absolutely nonsensical now... Just go ahead to the nearest Webworld. Clarify all this once and for all and get it straight... Once things dont work out there, go to the consumer forum and get it done that ways... y wait?? for whom?? just go ahead, u've got all the things on hand. Enuf of material now.. i hope u understand wht i mean. Fighting a case in a consumer court doesn't require any lawyer or something i guess... u need to be a consumer thts it... Naah Niket, Wht Hovs said, did make sense to some extent.... but hovs, at the end of everything, when u say that u r liable to get 400 mins completely free and not pay anything additional... and if u read all the offer documents and the contract tht the customer signs on and agree with the terms, i am damn sure, that Reliance wud have a clause where they have a right to change or withdraw the offer at any point in time and terminate the contract or something of that sort... And hence they have coolly gone ahead and done all this. Moreover, since they launched their service on 28th Dec, then, TRAI i guess had approved their 15 secs pulse and even the 40p/ min thing... do u rem, that Reliance had actually applied for 40p/ 3 mins and TRAI didn't approve of that saying that it wud crash the entire market and it was actually trying to protect state owned companies. So it made reliance change the tariff to 40p/min and allowed it a 15 sec pulse.... and hence those advts of 10p/15secs were put up all over.. Later after the IUC, i learnt that since most operators made 60 sec pulse mandatory for their offnet incoming charges, Reliance had to forcibly make it 60 sec pulse... Now in all this, I am not sure how TATA manages to have 15 sec pulse and still pays the other operator for 60 secs!! As far as ur SDCA prob stands... u can demand transcripts frm them to be produced to u, for verifying that those calls were made by u outside the SDCA.. till then, u dont pay for all those calls, deduct tht amount and keep paying ... Let them explain to u, how did they charge u for those calls, and if they can exactly produce transcripts of those calls and which Tower of theirs caught that call of urs... u have all the right to move the consumer court for this atleast and make them do al this.. I've heard that its not tht difficult to do that ... and some local NGOs wud surely help u in this... Write back to us more on this... And as Niket said, make their life worse now by moving the court and get some result out of this, rather than u getting more and more frustrated abt it... simple!

hi Khandu.... For more on this, u got to contact ARUN whose the admin at this forum. He has developed the basic layout of the forum(Invision Board). We too were discussing the new things that could be added onto the forum... Though all final decisions abt this, wud be taken by ARUN himself. and u got to get in touch wid him only... Now this was something i just couldn't digest!! As most of u'll know, my frnd had bought a DAPO connection in February 2003 and wanted to sell it. So we went abt investigating as to when his 3 yr term starts and ends... coz tht would help us determine the no. of balance months and according decide the payment to be made by the buyer to the seller. We first obviously thot, that since he bought it at upfront payment, his months started in February. So in effect he used it for 12mnths and balance 24 are left.... But then he pointed out that his 400Rs. monthly plan charges were deducted only from May2003 onwards. and hence his three yr term would actually end in April 2006. and hence in effect, he used the phone for 10 months and balance 26 months were left, and hence i needed to pay him, 500x26=13000 plus whtever he demands from the club membership! But today, i called up the Customer care, and they said, that the plan charges being deducted have no reference to the date of phone bought. Hence the three yr term is calculated from Feb2003 only!!! So if thats so, y didn't they show in their bills, that the plan charges have been deducted from Feb 2003 itself?? also can someone throw more light on the first scheme of reliance?? What was the various headers under which the money of 21000 collected?? Was it (36 x 400) = 14400 + 6600(Club Membership) = 21000 ??? And was local calls activation of Rs. 1000 charged in addition to all this?

well hovs, i have read both ur posts above entirely... do u mean to say, that since "The date of effect for actual implementation of IUC shall be 1st May, 2003" was added as a new clause in the IUC Law... that all dapo users should have been returned the money that they were charged for calls before 1.5.03 ?? Is that wht u mean by the entire discussion above?

Well the TRAI themselves hadn't really come out with any interconnect agreements initially!! They came up wid tht in May and hence all operators reworked out their tariffs, and hence all these changes in the call rates. And if u rem, the interconnect charges were decided in May, but all the operators were asked by TRAI to implement IUC to fwd these charges to their customers from March or April bills also, and hence these charges were simply passed onto us in our bills... And it was only becoz GSM operators lobbied like hell to get their incoming calls free to attract more customers and introduce the CALLING PARTY PAYS regime in the telecom industry! Otherwise all of us, wud have had 40p/ min for any Local call thru RIM. hovs, there are so many things that ppl dont really know abt, which go on in the backdoors, for which many ppl have been blaming Reliance for it.... None of us, are working for Reliance and trying to shield them. if u read all our posts at the forum, we've equally accused reliance for its biling probs etc. But there are certain things we knw for sure, are not really mistakes of reliance...

oops.. i'll have to do an extensive SEARCH archive thing to get u all the answers to wht u r looking for, coz we've discussed all these issues at the forum already... Let me give it a try... but its just a try, or u'll have to go navigating urself thru the forum i am sure, u'll find many more of ur questions answered there.. All these charges were enforced on Reliance by other operators as directed by TRAI. And hence these interconnect charges were calculated from March onwards for all calls and passed onto the customer... something of tht sort.. I dont rem the details now distinctly. But a frnd of mine explained to me in detail abt all this... Anyways, i also got one bill, in which they stated at the bottom of the first bill, tht Reliance would start giving 40% discount on all those money charged before 1st May 2003 in the subsequent bills as credits... Go look out for ur June July Aug bills.. its there at the bottom. I dont keep my bills at home... so maybe i'll get u this laters... This is like getting the bill settled.. All members shud take note of this, tht such things are possible Check this thread for more answers onto this.... or u can read this or this infact there are tonnes of posts onto the forum where this issue has been discussed and proved as something really stupid for us to think now.. Who said DAPO users dont have free SMS as yet?? or do u mean, Budget plan users?? Absolutely every legal authority to change anything without prior notifications. Though they have to inform thru relevant media channels.. and they have been doin so consistently thru their website. Check out the media page i think at this point in time if u r out there to dc ur DAPO connection, u'd be considered a fool !! Am ready to look out a buyer for ur DAPO connection, coz i am sure, he'll be blessed to get one which has free SMS and the lowest call rates in the World!!!!

yeps, its like, u have to get really specific to search for someone's no. with this option.. I mean, whts the point doin tht... if i only knew all of tht, then it would be no point looking out for one !! They could have kept the option open for pagewise reading of all those crores of names yaar... Anyways, i think the reason this thing doesn't function tht easily is to discourage unnecesary easy navigation to any and everybody's no.... !! hhehe... too many paradoxes!

In LG2030, as and when i type a new word that is not in the T9 dictionary, it gets added and when i attempt to form the word next time, it displays up !! but after sometime or days, tht word is again lost, and i have to write it manually once again... and its again in the dictionary for a few more days !!

i guess, munna meant 500 rs. for Motorola handset and not the LG one.. !!!! and also, that LG 2030 which most of us use, can be converted technically with a smal upgrade in the software to Prepaid.. i dont know, if reliance is allowing that... But their reason for not allowing wud be possibly becoz ppl have bought handsets in 501 scheme and they still need to repay the installments and financing charges to Reliance for these handsets... which cannot be recovered in the Prepaid scheme... So all this will take quite some time...! And its better that they verify the RSNs... coz if tomo any handset is stolen, and if they allow no-verification, then they might just allot a new no. with Prepaid to the old stolen handset !!

not anymore i gues... enuf of these freebies i think..... Its time to get the funds back from the ppl... They got to move on, and Reliance's strategy is clear... they become market leaders, charge premium rates, and establish another company.. in another field.. I have already heard abt their new business ventures... its time for them to move on...

yeh, thts pretty simple.. If i am an agent of RIM prepaid, i have the handsets and recharge coupons offered free wid me... There still are ppl from our society, who cant even pay 3500 upfront, so for them, being a generous person, i'll offer them a handset in Rs. 500/- and give them 2 out of 10 recharge coupons free!! Nice inhouse marketing scheme :'( All these things keep on happening, but they are infringing on the companies policies.. But the company will still allow that to happen, coz it has nothing to lose in it... but it will not publicly admit or publicise such things!

Ashwin, did u get ur phone checked at the service center... I suggest tht u do that right away before goin any further into this..
