after reading that review i felt as if that person was completely let down by the handset becoz he expected just too much out of it.... and moreover he was from a city like Jaipur.. when things dont happen in Mumbai wht kind of customer service Jaipur can give !!
-
all i meant was whether it is compatible with post paid or not... i guess it shud be. coz someone whose not interested in RWorld or RConnect can go for this handset and take a Budget Plan... hence in 3500 u can have a handset with no other obligations or payments everymonth henceforth! wht say?

As far as my frnd remembers, u can block calls and not SMS... try the following. Heres where u can find the option for blocking CALLS from a specific no. Goto SETTINGS >> SECURITY SETTINGS >> CALL RESTRICTIONS ... Here u got to select the no. to block.

Well i assume that Reliance India Mobile's basic role is to offer just connections. They are telecom operators and not any telephone manufacturer or something. In that case, they are liable to give just a connection to anyone who comes to them with a handset. Well, as i see, that they have worked out their entire marketing strategy in such a way that u wont really find a good CDMA mobile worth 5000 bucks in the open market at all. Anyways, i think we can purchase mobiles from anywhere and we have all the right to ask jus for the connection. Does someone know of good CDMA mobiles avl in the market? and can they list the model nos. here? I'd rather go for some decent handset than the new stupid Motorola handset...

Interesting WAP sites that work on rsurf...
Chirag replied to justanotherguy's topic in Data services
Since this discussion has shifted to WAP sites, can we all add onto some good WAP sites found when we were exploring the lil gadget??? Last night i checked my mails at Rediff from RIM!! It was some fun... though quite time consuming... Any good WAP sites with a difference? -
do u have any specific conclusions to how much long the battery really lasts or something?? How do u really verify if the battery lasted longer?? (i know its a lay man's question... coz am a lay man on this subject)

Not at all.. y do u feel so?? its jus that the NOKIA handset doesn't have the Ringtone menu... so its out of question for those ppl... ok... Cricket has been replaced with R-BILL(coz Cricket is accessed most by all only when the match is on)... Now u can vote for R-Bill if u want to... Any takers for Astro / Games / Contests / Messaging(Wallpapers,MMS)?

i just want to add on to this... or maybe someone shud throw more light on this.. If say, I am customer frm Pune, my telecom circle is entire maharashtra(Except Mumbai). So now with the new numbering scheme i shud be able to make calls to another city in Maharashtra, say Nashik without adding '0' to the new 10 digit no. coz its the same telecom circle. Thats the practice followed by IDEA cellular in Mah, i know. Incase, dialling a '0' is mandatory, still the call shall be charged local since its the same home circle. For this, just ur STD should be activated. And for activating STD, i guess, we dont have to pay anything extra.. right? As far as in my case, Mumbai goes, as sharad pointed out, Mumbai - Kalyan -Vasai are considered to be one circle... So calls within this circle should be allowed without dialling a '0'... And sharad, the reliance website clearly mentions that a resident of Meerut has Ghaziabad within 50 kms so i am sure Reliance will take care of the charges within the 50 km radius...

So heres a poll inspired by NIKET... gr8 !! I use the Ringtones and Wallpapers section the most! rest things like news and contests are something i check out sometimes, coz i dont require it; thnx to my Cablenet! And yeah, if the songs section had more downloadable songs, i sure would have been freaking out there often, too! And once my Bill starts pouring in, i guess i'll be there most often to keep a check on my expenses !!

Has someone got insider info whether how the new numbering scheme is taking shape? Is it now freezed for the March 1 deadline?

Should read this one too.... And above all, the word "alliance" we were using at the yahoo msger thread should be actually "inter-operability agreements" !! Found the right word !!

One more customer care lapse!

local intranet! what way?? couldn't get wht u meant here..
-
who told u that?? did anyone prepaid subscriber access yahoo thru sms? Coz as far as i know that the Yahoo mobile registration for Reliance is there for quite sometime there. But tht is only for Reliance GSM users... Can someone throw more light on this?
-
my frnd who uses Nokia handset for TATA told me that he could block incoming msgs from a specific no. in his handset !! I'll find out from him, how he gets this done...
-
didn't understand wht u were trying to point out. Would u describe this more? And moreover, most CDMA users are now charged for SMS. coz since Feb1, TATA started charging 50p / SMS for all its users. Hence in effect, only Reliance DAPO users have free SMS as of now. And i dont know wht nos. they run into. But DAPO users are not more than the monsoon hungama customers for Budget plans and now the prepaid ones..

There is definitely an alliance between Orange(Mumbai), Hutch with Yahoo and MSN for allowing users to login to MSN/Yahoo thru SMS. If for example u goto Yahoo Mobile Registration thru Yahoo Messenger, u'll find that Reliance is listed there as a partner for Yahoo IM but that Reliance is the Reliance GSM operator! So once Reliance IndiaMobile joins Yahoo IM then we can all login to Yahoo IM thru SMS via RIM. also Recently, HUTCH started charging for incoming SMS which are generated thru MSN! so theres definitely a service charge which operators have to pay these websites too...

Would like to add on to this thread.... Recently i've been observing that our new users are posting msgs on the forum abt discussions which have already taken place at the forum. I would urge new users to kindly go thru all the posts at the forum first and only if they dont find a suitable thread, shud they make a new thread for its discussion on a new topic. I've been merging topics all along just to avoid users from discussing abt the same topic at two different places and at the end, ppl lose out on something important or something helpful for all. Keep an eye on whats goin on at the forum first and then post... and use tabs like "VIEW NEW POSTS"(which is at the top right corner, below members.. of every page at the forum) which help u locate all those posts that u've still not read.. Well frankly for me, am definitely glad to see the tremendous no. of posts and the unbelievable response that this forum has recd!! Thnx all of u'll to contribute in your own way to the forum! Its always been a pleasure to be here! Keep POSTING !

hi Sarath, Glad to see u posting at the forums! Well, another way to reset ur pin would be to go to the nearest LG service center instead of Rel Webworld and ask them to find out the PIN for u from the phone. I've seen them doin all that our frenz above posted. Or if they deny doin it, then ask them to simply reset the entire phone for u! (just rem to ask them to retain the phone book for u). Once they reset the phone, ur PIN will be reset to 0000 Keep us updated on the method u follow and its outcome.

his policies are pretty much reliance related !! heheeh... anyways.. thnx for slashing the rates for RIMWEB users!
-
yeh, many have complained that this UNBILLED INFO is not updated every day or so... It gets updated over sometime!! So not useful actually... Its like the BALANCE info on Prepaid cards. Like most balance info doesn't show up the same min, thts the case with UNBILL info! Cant really rely on it much!
-
this is really weird... it shud have been NIL at max 100 or just 200.. .... 212 is weird!! Take this to the nearest Webworld... and if the matter doesn't resolve there, then u pay the bill minus these 212 rs.
-
are u looking for the R-Connect Software?? thts avl on the Rel website...
-
i guess he is talking abt dl ringtones from R-World... which is not avl for Nokia 2280.
