u can use that till March 31 for free... Lets see wht they come up with after that, whether they really stick to charging 200 bucks for keeping the service on. Coz thts the only hitch i find in this service.

hey man, u got to actually tell a person like me as to how i can put this tone on my phone? tell me the entire procedure, am not from any engg background dude!! i dl the ringtone though, n its on my comp..

i'll talk abt the reverse order, maybe that would help u'l in the probe.. When i mailed from the MMS aplet to my email id, the msg and the wallpaper i typed showed up properly in the mail. But the ringtone that i had added, did get dl on my comp but i couldn't really play it on any software i had! So does that mean, that ringtones cannot be, but wallpapers could be dl from WAP sites?? Any comments on this?

Finally i got thru that forum using a proxy server... Well this is the post that was there... One thing guys, dont msg him, coz am sure he wont reply to each person's SMS. Call him upfront if u have a NOKIA 2280 and get to know wht he can provide. Try it out if that is wht it requires to confirm... And let us all know if this really works!

Guys, we were talking abt developing a WAP site for all of us here, so that we could maybe dl ringtones, wallpapers etc. Firstly can someone confirm that developing a wap site at all would help us dl ing ringtones etc to all our handsets? What i mean to say is, are our handsets compatible enuf to allow dls other than from R-World? If that works, we should carry this discussion further on those terms rather than getting deviated and also keep all off-topic posts off this board

i dont think there are yet any migration plans for changing over to these Camera models. Wht possibly u cud do is ask them that if they could switch ur no. frm ur present b/w handset to the new camera handset. But in this case, u also might jus end up keeping the old b/w handset with urself. Or else, ask them if its alright, if someone wants to buy over the old handset from u and Rel could give that old mobile a new no. or something... What are the tariff plans for these Camera Phones? Any financing charges on them for a period of time?? Let us know wht they have to say...

hmm, if at all ther is such a site developed, then how wud be able to dl ringtones? is there such a facility in RIM phones to dl ringtones from third party Wap sites?

There is no other alliance as of now between Rel and Yahoo and hence nothing more than tht Instant Messenger on R-World... Nothing like an SMS service as yet.

Upfront payment of? and how much to pay in installments every month along with the plan charges?

Does anybody have any idea of the tariff plan or upfront payment for the new Camera handset of Samsung or GTRAN? No where in the website are these details given! Like for a regular Colour Handset A563 we pay some Rs. 300 in addition to the tariff plan every month and an upfront payment of Rs. 5000/- So similarly wht are the plans for A603?

Wht more info r u looking for? Well just to tell u'll, R-Surf in mumbai has got a bit better, in terms of speeds! At various hrs of the day, i could login to yahoo msger without any errors etc and with gr8 ease and quickly! Unlike earlier where there were so many errors for connecting.

as far as i know, i've been able to save nos. from an incoming SMS on my LG handset!

its not jus in Punjab n thts for sure... Punjab used to be the only green state sometime back.. but its not the case anymore. Last yr's good monsoons have got several villages on track. Well wont go into the details, but Rural India is coming up excellently. you'll definitely realise that the way ppl have got hooked onto R-World that they will for sure go back to it though it wont be so much. But it'll be definitely be used extensively all across...

yeps.. yeps.. wht all u said was perfectly true.. and rel has been paying music and movie companies for all the content tht they put up or sometimes its the other way round, where movie companies might be paying Rel to showcase their upcoming movies at R-World! But wht interested me was ur last line at the post.. Villages in India are changing. Mercedez too is focussing in these small villages these days. They find farmers more wealthy!! Every FMCG company in India has changed Marketing Strategies to suit Rural India!!!

haha.. arey none of those good ringtones are made by music companies yaar. They are made by ppl like u and me. With simple things like a composer in a Nokia phone! Ever tried that? its so amazingly simple. I know of a frnd's Sony phone where u can record ur voice or anything else and set it as a ringtone! These ringtones flooding in the market is becoz they are easy to make with just some sense of music of the keys on the phone! Thts why Yahoo, Rediff, Indiatimes have so many ringtones!... Anyways, hope more ringtones come soon!

yeh u r right mahi, but i've also read somewhere that these handsets do have high memories in them, which have been unexploited. So there are several programming dudes all over the country who are actually tryin to decode these handsets and trying to figure out how to add more games or ringtones in them... does any of u all have any clue to such ppl?? let us know...
