Reliance Jio - Pan India 4G / LTE network
Himanshu Singh replied to Arun's topic in Reliance Jio 4G LTE (Prepaid & Postpaid)
I got a UP west JIO sim. The network is patchy once you leave town areas. Speed varies between 2 mbps to 30 mbps depending on signal strength. Outgoing calls are hit and miss. At times calls do not get connected at all. Voice clarity is excellent. Problem is it would not latch on to signal if mobile network is selected to 2G/3G mode. The mobile number begins with 70170 in UP west. -
Reliance Communications to sell iPhone 5C for Rs 2,599 and iPhone 5S for Rs 2,999 monthly plan on a 2-year contract

RCom to sell iPhone 5C for Rs 2,599 and iPhone 5S for Rs 2,999 monthly plan on a 2-year contract Source Apple’s new iPhone 5C and the iPhone 5S will officially arrive in India tomorrow carrying with them a hefty price tag of Rs 41,900 and Rs 53,500 respectively. But according to The Hindu, these devices are not likely to burn a hole in one’s pocket since RCom will sell these devices at subsidized rates ranging between Rs 2,500 and Rs 2,800. The only catch is that a subscriber will stuck to RCom for a period of two years. In a type of contract system, common in Western countries, a subscriber will need to sign a contract with RCom locking him or her to RCom’s network for a period of two years. Under the scheme, one will have to pay Rs 2,500-2,800 and in addition to the new phone, will get unlimited voice calls, SMS and 3G data. The 16GB iPhone 5C will be available for Rs 2,500 per month, while the iPhone 5S will be available for Rs 2,800 per month. The 32GB variants too will be available at the same subsidized monthly rates, but one will have to shell out Rs 10,000 up front. For the 64GB iPhone 5S, on the other hand, one will have to shell out Rs 18,000 up front. To ensure that the phones are not misused or sold in grey market before the contract is over, RCom is only offering this deal to people with ICICI and HDFC credit cards. -

Does bb z10 work with Indian cdma operators?
-
I believe the next iPhones will have larger screen and a few additional vow features. The pricing will remain higher than the androids. Apple will be encouraging people to exchange their smartphones for some discounts in India. That's their new strategy to gain market share without lowering their margins and prices. If they allow those using iphone 4 to upgrade at a discount of 10-15k I believe lot of them would upgrade to iphone 5S.

3G Data Plan Pricing of Telecom Operators
Himanshu Singh replied to MOBILE FAN's topic in Indian Telecom / General News
Rcom has today cut 3G tariff. Now 1 GB@123 only. http://m.ibnlive.com/news/reliance-communications-halves-3g-data-price/407556-7.html From another news source, RComm making 3G/2G data at same price is interesting! -
I didn't opt for the above scheme but an exclusive showroom did offer 32000 for my one month old blackberry z10. I bought Iphone4S by paying 3000 more to the shop.

Telenor in talks to buy merge India unit with Tata Tele Services
Himanshu Singh posted a topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
Telenor in talks to merge India unit with Tata Tele Tuesday, Nov 27, 2012 at 21:22 Moneycontrol.com Norway's Telenor is in talks to merge its Indian operations with Tata Teleservices to gain a bigger foothold in the world's second-biggest mobile phone market, a source with direct knowledge of the situation said on Tuesday. Telenor, which won rights to operate in six Indian zones in an auction earlier this month after its earlier permits were ordered to be revoked, is looking to take a majority stake in the merged entity, the source said. The deal will see Tata Group cutting its stake in unlisted Tata Telservices, the country's No. 6 mobile phone carrier, said the source, declining to be named due to the sensitivity of the matter. Japan's NTT DoCoMo, which owns a 26 percent stake in the company, will retain its holding in the combined entity, the source said. Telenor and Tata Teleservices declined comment. NTT DoCoMo could not be immediately reached for a comment in Tokyo outside their business hours. http://www.moneycontrol.com/news/wire-news/telenortalks-to-merge-india-unittata-tele_787854.html -

Is TATA closing CDMA business?
Himanshu Singh replied to zappydear's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
I bought BB 9330 cdma for Tata Indicom and opted for their unlimited 899 plan. This was before Rcom launched similar plans. Now I have decided to opt out of the same plan and not use it in the BB. How can I vacate the BB and start using the sim card for my number? Any ideas? -

Friends, I have a BB9300 running on os 5. I want to replace it with a BB which should be as good as 9300. In an ideal situation I would like a brand new 9300.. Its out of stock in my place..I need suggestions from you all on this. I find that the BBs running on OS 6 and 7 have some issue with the native browser. The web page takes more time to load and one has to zoom 2/3 times to be able to view the web page. Is it unique to my set or a problem faced by others too?? Is it possible for us to downgrade a BB say 9220/9320 to a lower os than what they originally came loaded with? I tried but I couldnt.. If that was possible I could buy 9320 which comes with OS 7 and downgrade it to OS 5. Thank you all..

Can We Use Aircel Pocket Internet On Blackberry 9300 Curve Or Blackberry 8520 Curve?
Himanshu Singh posted a topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
Friends I have 9300 and 8520 BB. I am planning to use Aircel's pocket internet on either of them. Tata docomo's internet is readily working on 8520 without any effort from my side. Even BSNL works on 8520. But Aircel is not working on any. Is there any way? Thanks in advance. -

Airtel Hikes Call Tarrif

Expected move from Airtel after MNP dint do much damage to it. Had MNP led to Airtel losing customers in hordes it would not have dared such a thing.
