Friends, a few things which I would like to share after using MTS for close to 24 hours: 1. Voice clarity is as good as one would expect from CDMA. 2. I havent come across problems of calls not getting connected as it happens in RGSM in Delhi circle. 3. 1/2 per second for local calls at a daily rent of Re.1 is quite cost effective. I made a local call for 157 seconds (close to 3 mins one can say) and was charged only 79 paise(neat saving of 78paise). 4. I get 100 free local/national sms at a daily rent of Re.1 which is as good or may be even better than Reliance as it has no rental whatsoever.With Rcom I have to pay Rs.11 every 30 days over and above my sms charges@1paise.So if my usage does not cross 100sms/day I save Rs.11 a month on MTS. 5.The sms pack is not valid while roaming which is understandable for a new company. 6.After every call I get an sms which tells me my last call duration and the cost charged. I find that useful. 7.Whenever I check my account balance, I get an sms update about my sms balance too(like how many of daily quota of 100 free sms are left)which is again very useful. 8.Caller tune monthly rental is Rs.15 only. Today when I go out to South Delhi and a few malls' underground parking, I would check its coverage and signal strength and share that detail with you all.

10 days wont pass off as haste. And it was a big problem for me being unable to text at all. May be in other circles things are better but not in Delhi where I stay. I generally am patient with things which is clear from the fact that I used the same number for 4 years. And MTS has great coverage in Delhi. I did my homework before taking this decision. I would use it if and when Rcdma gets rid of its problems in Delhi. Till then its bye bye to Mr. Ambani.

I have exhausted the balance of Rgsm and laid it to rest.

In Delhi its available for Rs.2750.

Well Rcom will be completed(finished off) when its account books are thoroughly checked!!

Great offer. That what called putting brains into offerings. It means one pays Rs.1.8 for 4/5/6 mins of calls. That also means local/std at the lowest price of 30paise per minute.

Rcom is dead for smsing in DELHI.

I have been using Reliance mobile broadband since October and I am satisfied with the speeds and coverage.

Rgsm is pathetic in Delhi mostly in evenings. I cant call any other operator in evenings from rgsm except reliance. Its a pain to use Rgsm.

Let them provide same rates for smsing while roaming to impress me!

MTS charging Rs.30 or Rs.54?

RCDMA in NCR without doubt for last almost 5 years, followed by Idea cellular.

The ad is misleading. I saw it in the english dailies in delhi few days ago. First, the sms charges are lowest by Rcom and not MTNL. Second,the roaming rates are the lowest by Rcom and not MTNL which still would charge Re.1 for local outgoing and incoming while Rs.1.5 for std while roaming. Third, full talk time is being provided by RCOM from time immemorial.

I will stay with Reliance CDMA. I have been using it since 2004 and I am convinced by the services of the company.

Its a very good move indeed and that too quite swift I would say.

The only business model Airtel knows it to overcharge the subscribers and make super normal profits. Imagine they used to charge Rs.3.45/sms while roaming till May 2009.

Airtel is going to be screwed up with predatory prices thats why they are crying like babies. Till now they have been overcharging for everything(even now in per second tariff they charge 1.2paise for calls to other networks). SHAME!!!

Indeed a great innovation.Hope Reliance comes up with similar service son.

Its a crap. Nothing as compared to Rcom. Let Vodafone offer 1paise/sec call on other networks first and then let them talk of 1.5paise/sec on roaming. Airtel and Vodafone have made profits only by overcharging customers. Let MNP come and they would realise a few things in a price sensitive market.

Good for prepaid customers. The rent for post paid plan is much higher. The reduced rates for GPRS@1paise/10kb is a welcome move.

I was curious to know if Idea, Aircel in Delhi and NCR allow any special sms pack combination with per second billing?
