Friends Today i got Reliance broadband USB modem. The speed never goes beyong 20 KB/s.My network type in the dialer is selected as hybrid as it does not support broadband in my area it seems. Reasons for slow speed? or with the hybrid network is it normal?

Thanks Arun. I think your suggestion was right. I did that and speed had increase to about 100KB/s. Is it normal?

IDEA CELLULAR has launched a tariff voucher of 51 which offers local calls for 50 paise and national calls for 60 paise for 1 year.

The other day i was hearing to sanjeev aga from idea cellular in an interview to times now. he claims things wil get further bad for telcos before they start looking up. by that he meant that tariff will go down further. his company wants it to happen asap. thats why they reduced local calling to 40 paise. my guess is that local calls would come for 30 paise in a few month time and std may remain at 50. lets wait and watch the unfolding drama.

The company which operates delhi noida direct express way has denied any such news. further clarification is in hindustan times today. so friends hold your horses err cars and bikes.

RGSM sim cards are being sold for 350 ever since the launch of the simple reliance tariff. the common man on the street favoured air tel even when informed about the saving he could make. he still went for air tel. its something i saw with my own eyes in heart of south delhi, bhikaji cama place. I am not very supportive of this churn thing. people get used to an operator i guess. some with reliance some with others. its a matter of convenience rather than savings for many i think. those who keep multiple numbers can definitely enjoy everything. but alas they have not launched 5-6 sim phones as of now. i am using my double sim till then. its better to buy sim of every operator to save costs.:-)

Well its a response. whether it matches reliance or not is another matter. do you think all idea customers will switch over to reliance for the latest tariff. i am not sure. so its good for them. there are people who do other things in life than changing their numbers at the drop of their hats. so one must take it in that context.

MTS launch on october 8. They are launching mobile broadband as well with mobile services.

for second time in as many years the deal is off. i suspect Mtn is a jinxed company for indian telcos. poor mittal.

no matter what tata does i dont see its subscriber number swelling. market is least excited by these so called offers. its a big pain changing numbers and operators for every new best scheme which invariably comes every 3 months. i am not taking tata.

AIRTEL has come up with an offer that is going to choke its network soon. No matter what TRAI has to say in this matter, I find AIRTEL network busy most of the times when i call UP-BIHAR. This offer is an eyewash. They have again copied VODAFONE FRIENDS AND FAMILY SCHEME which in delhi allows local calls to 5 vodafone numbers@20 paise at a monthly rent of 15. of course vodafone dint have the same facility for std calls..

HA HA. I posted earlier that tata cdma started with similar schemes and then it vanished. I am of the view that sooner or later do co mo will fall in line. Other operators are not going to copy it for per second billing. Virgin started with get paid for incoming but did any other operator, old or new, copy it? Its my personal view,others may fancy better things like say per character billing for texts- 1paise per 300 characters?

Recently i was in roaming and unexpectedly i found reliance signals even in those areas where my Mtnl, which uses bsnl network for roaming, was not working.. plus i recharged with 222 to get 400 worth of talktime. so even in roaming my effective std or local call rate was about 50 paise as i have liftime jaadu pack 550..and i dint have to think before taking any call even while roaming..customer care worked excellent even in roaming.. i dont think any other operator offers such schemes.

All those who change operators do share your better or bitter experiences here. I would like to know how it feels. In fact many would be interested to know how is life after four to six years of using reliance and then taking up some other service?

STD calls would settle down at 50 paise by Diwali this year with a nominal fee of around 30 a month for GSM. For RCDMA there would be another lifetime jaadu pack.

Such dollops will not work. They should come up with life time jaadu pack and full and extra talktime top ups similar to cdma services.

Dude I am not impressed. There was nothing in your review that i dint know before. and mind you local call rates were 1.99 and not 1 as you claim.similarly std calls were 2.99 and not 2 when tata had per second billing.

Guys lets not get overly excited. If my memory serves me right tata had launched second based pulse initially in cdma as well. it was some 3 paise per second. This was quite competitive then. Where is tata indi com right now in comparison to air tel, vodafone or even reliance?

Wish i could get something similar in delhi. Its a brilliant tariff. Unmatched.
