Caller Tune Activated Automatically On All Rgsm Delhi Numbers
Himanshu Singh posted a topic in Miscellaneous
Reliance has activated caller tune on Gsm numbers since this morning without any charge. The tune being played is Reliance signature tune. -
Idea has unlimited plan for a daily rental of Rs.20. I was hoping that Reliance would offer it for Rs15 if not Rs 10. But there is no unlimited plan as such even for 30.

TRAI had reduced the termination charges from 30paise to 20paise a minute to be effective from April 1. I havent heard of any operator passing on any benefits to the consumers. Please correct me if my assessment is wrong.

No Rate Cuts?
Himanshu Singh replied to Himanshu Singh's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
There is nothing in my post which shows i had high hopes.I had long ago pointed out while discussing on lifetime jaadu pack that call rates cant fall below 50paise for local and 1 for std even if termination or carriage fees are lowered. and thats why i differed from some members who argued that by april call rates would automatically fall to the levels of lifetime jaadu pack, and therefore they said its not a good idea to commit 550 rupees. i stand vindicated today atleast for the time behng. -

Airtel Local Sms@10 Paise,calling@60paise

Any limits for SMS/Calls ? There are no limits.even if they are, the company ads are silent on that. -
Friends I purchased a Virgin Mobile lifetime connection with Samsung SCH-B279 handset for Rs.1850 last week which includes 499 local mins and 499 local sms valid for 60 days. My main objectives were to get STD calls@50paise and cheap STD sms comparable to MyGang@10paise and cheap LOCAL sms@5paise comparable to MTNL. Till now I was using Reliance for locals@0.50 and std@1 Idea for std sms and Mtnl for local sms. it was however inconvenient to carry them together. i dint want to get a postpaid number.Virgin combines everything. My first 2 std mins are charged@1.5 and next thirty@0.5,first 3 std sms@1.5 and next 100 free. voice clarity is as good as reliance, signals are available in basements of malls, sms get delivered. the best part is that i get paid for incoming calls@1paise for every 6 sec of incoming. on an average i get Rs.2.5 a day which is promptly credited the next morning. so it is a very good proposition at the moment in prepaid segment.

Reliance launches STD offer for Reliance Mobile GSM
Himanshu Singh replied to vvinayakpai's topic in Miscellaneous
Any modification would be welcome only after the network is in health, right now network is suffering fron anaemia. I am not going to spend even a penny on gsm now. Network is a problem but I am not using RGSM as an alternative to my CDMA number. I am using it where I get get better tariff. I dont have much problem making outgoing from my home. So I am using it for STD. I am using virgin for better tariff apart from cdma reliance with liftime jaadu pack. -

Local Call@40paise, Std@50paise
Himanshu Singh replied to Himanshu Singh's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
There are 4plans-plan 50,plan100,plan250,plan450. Nothing revolutionary except plan 50 where rent is nil only clip is charged. Add on packs are revolutionary for gsm prepaid in Delhi- 50 for1000 local or national sms,75 for 2000 local or national sms, 85 for local mobile call@30paise. RGSM take a lesson. Aircel has done it much better in delhi, launched postpaid before it. No std sms pack at RGSM, no std calling@50paise,no local calling@30,no customer support. How far will FTT and DTT will take you? what reliance launch couldnt do,aircel launch might-tariff war. -

Bsnl Prepaid Introduces National Sms At 10ps
Himanshu Singh replied to vvinayakpai's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
Think of it, Reliance is the only prepaid service without any national sms pack, at least here in delhi. idea offers 200 national sms@42,airtel offers a similar package, vodafone offers national sms@0.29 paise per sms for 29 bucks. Shame! -

Calls Not Getting Connected To Bsnl Number Which Is In Roaming
Himanshu Singh replied to Himanshu Singh's topic in Miscellaneous
Had that been the case, i would not have been able to call that particular bsnl number when it was in its home circle. but i used to get through to the said number quite easily. problem started when that number has gone for roaming. -

Telecom Ceo Sells His Entire Stake In Company
Himanshu Singh posted a topic in Indian Telecom / General News
Bharati Airtel CEO Manoj Kohli has sold his entire stake in Airtel via two open market transactions for more than 7 crore. He was holding more than a lakh shares of the company which turns out to be 0.006 percent of the entire shareholding of Airtel... Whats cooking here? -
Telecom Ceo Sells His Entire Stake In Company
Himanshu Singh replied to Himanshu Singh's topic in Indian Telecom / General News
Nothing wrong except that Airtel is trading at 6percent lower at the moment amidst fears of some corporate governance issues. The mood in the market is low as it is after satyam drama. Some analysts have predicted that Airtel would remain under pressure for some time as a result of recent developments. -

Who Is Making More Revenue
Himanshu Singh replied to ravi_patent's topic in Indian Telecom / General News
The language used in this forum by some users is downright ugly to put it mildly. Perhaps people dont know how much autowallahs earn in Delhi. Its much more than a white or blue collared professional might be making elsewhere without getting a kick on his back in these days of slowdown. And if being autowallah was bad? There are surely better ways to say that Reliance caters to low end users or users having mid to low usage. Most of the female massage service providers(i hope the real meaning is undestood) put up their ads in leading newspaper and they always have airtel numbers 99 percent times. I havent ever seen a reliance number or for that matter mtnl.So would someone be fair in saying that airtel serves masseurs? -
Who Is Making More Revenue
Himanshu Singh replied to ravi_patent's topic in Indian Telecom / General News
Exactly the point i was making. Right since i started using a mobile way back in 2003 as an 11th standard student, airtel has been more expensive than rest of companies in delhi. the cost may not mean much for salaried people but it remains an issue for students and people without a fixed consistent salary. i have used every operator in delhi except airtel.not because i am biased. but none of their plans either is pre or post paid have ever attracted me. and i am talking about normal plans not corporate ones i opted for idea for friends card and then gang card, mtnl for vidyarthi card, reliance for cheaper national calling via std calling card first and via lifetime jaadu pack now, besides voice clarity and unlimited on net calling. airtel somehow has never attracted me except for its coverage to distant places where i rarely go.
