  3. Dot Rings Mobile Number Portability

BSNL could miss MNP 2nd deadline State-run telco BSNL has informed the DoT that it may miss even the March 31 deadline for implementing the mobile number portability (MNP) regime if it does not get the security clearance to import the needed equipment at the earliest. It has also sought intervention of the DoT to expedite the security clearance process to import MNP infrastructure so that it could meet the second deadline set by the government. Mobile number portability (MNP) allows cellphone users to change their operators without changing the numbers. "We would like to bring to your kind notice that BSNL has not been able to place purchase orders for MNP gateway for want of security clearance," the PSU telco said in a letter to the Department of Telecom. BSNL said it has submitted technical details to DoT on its MNP infrastructure and is still awaiting security nod before placing purchase orders. The Government had earlier set December 31, 2009 as deadline for implementing the MNP regime in the four metros, and June 2010 for the rest of the country. However, this deadline could not be met after many operators informed DoT that they would require more time to upgrade their networks.

  6. Is Rimweb Turning To Be Buy And Sell Market Place?

I hope I am not committing any grave mistake here on the forum.
  7. Guys they are charging me wrongly since this morning. I should have been charged as per pay per call plan but at times they are charging me Rs.2/3 for local calls lasting less than 10 mins also. It was working fine till yesterday. And CC is not getting connected for last 3 hours. Jai ho Tata.
  8. If this proposal to charge customers for calls made to customer care is accepted, it would have,in my opinion, the following impacts: 1. Customers would be put on hold for longer duration to milk money. 2. Over a period of time customers would become intelligent and start making calls from office phones etc. 3. A lot of customers who don't have the second option would stop making calls to customer care even if a caller tune is activated without request and so on. You might even find companies start charging us wrongly by a few rupees every day in the hope that no one would dare call customer care. 4. If the calls made to Customer care become very less these telcos would not need to hire many for call centers. So job losses would occur and economy would have some impact due to this. 5.May be Raj Thakre would intervene and all those who are fired might get back their jobs.
  9. Friends, Today I talked to a few of the dealers in my area(Dwarka) and I was shocked to hear from them the following: 1. Municipal Corporation Of Delhi(MCD) has pulled down one of Tata's cell tower at Mahavir Enclave for non payment of a fine of Rs.1 lakh as the company had not taken prior permission for setting up the tower. 2.MCD had fixed a one time fine of Rs.1 lakh to regularize hundreds of such illegal towers of all operators. 3.The Tata Indicom and Virgin customers in this area are completely cut off for the last few days. 4.Such action is going to be repeated in many more areas in coming few days.
  10. Which One Is Better Between Lg 3510 And 3530?

Please suggest. I need to buy a phone by tomorrow.
  11. After a brief lull, mobile operators have begun clashing over the fee paid for spectrum (air-waves) with Vodafone claiming Tata Teleservices and RCom were underpaying the government - a charge denied by the two companies. "The allegation of the incumbent (Vodafone) is illogical, baseless, misleading and a blatant attempt to divert the focus from the real issue, which is that the incumbent and other players are hoarding spectrum beyond the contracted amount of 6.2 MHz and not allowing other players to start services in Delhi," a Tata Teleservices spokesperson said. Vodafone, one of the largest GSM operators, had said that service providers like itself and "Bharti pay the highest spectrum charges per MHz to Department of Telecom (DoT) compared to others... For example, the rate per MHz per quarter for Bharti and Vodafone for 7 circles is Rs 1.71 crore and Rs 1.37 crore respectively." "As compared to this the rate paid by Tata and Reliance in only Rs 0.27 crore and Rs 0.22 crore," Vodafone's Resident Director T V Ramachandran has said in a letter to DoT asking it to remove such distortions. The rivals, however, called the allegation absurd and said Vodafone has compared payment of spectrum usage for seven circles including metros and it would be very misleading to compare these circles where the incumbents have been operating for many years and have revenues far exceeding players like Tata Teleservices and RCom and other new players in the GSM mobile-platform space.
  12. Details: Recharge with Rs.94 and get 360 mins of local calls free on all networks. Its valid for 30 days. Effective call rate 26.11 paise/min.Calls are charged per minute and not per second.
  13. Mts Launches Local Calls 26 Paise

heard that they accumulate all calls in secs and then pay 20p/min.. or they pay 20p for every call ? Absolutely right. Further by my knowledge, the companies pay each other only after balancing out their total calls against each other. For instance if Rcomm calls Airtel for 10 mins and Airtel calls Rcomm for 10 mins over a month, they pay each other nothing. Similarly, If Rcomm calls 12 and Airtel calls 10, Rcomm pays for 2 mins of IUC.... In fact this practice dupes govt on service tax that each operator has to pay cos for a lower amount of IUC govt gets lower revenues because the service providers have adjusted their minutes of calls against each other.
