6230 is out of the question for me. It's too costly and I dont make use of all those features though they are nice and all. But tell me about the three phones that I have shortlisted. Anybody using them currently? People give me some feed back regarding these phones!

*sigh* Googles gone mad. Lately it has really been cracking. I mean what were they thinking when they say such things... Power is just one thing, no unbundling of local loop. Look at my pathetic situation right now. Reliance Powersurfer is down for more than 24 hours and I am currently on the ****y MTNL dialup... abhay, please do call me by my nick only

Arun, the LG RD6155 costs about 8800. Too high a price for me. Besides, I would go in for the LG Jukebox (6230) instead which costs about 1400 less and has MP3, Card slot and what not! I have short listed : Kyocera SE47, Nokia 2255, Kyocera KZ830. Can someone tell me about these phones? How reliable are they? The most important function I am looking for is great voice quality and a strong signal. Rest everything is secondary!

Wireless Netway By Reliance Based On 3g Tecnhology
linuxguy replied to abhay's topic in Reliance Communications
Oye...abhay enough of making fun of me... vmsanghrajka, dude, what is important is not the delivery medium. What is important is the cost. What will be the approx cost for a 256Kbps or better connection? Will it be unlimited? Will I have a public IP? Will there be data / port caps??? And with wireless comes two major problems: 1) Security 2) Reliability. If I get weak signals / bad signals then what should I expect from my connection?? -
Should read 500 million.

Hi guys, I need help in selecting a handset for the RIM connection that I am planning to buy. My budget is around Rs.6500. I need the following features: 1. Preferably a clam shell design 2. Big display with atleast 65K colors 3. Good talk time 4. Has send-to-all / send-to-many feature in SMS 5. After sales service should be good (i've heard horror stories about nokia service centers ) 6. Good reception I have been used to my samsung x200. It has a big & excellent display. I really liked the Kyocera SE47 slider and it fits my budget but I dont know much about its features, reliability. One question, why aren't there any samsung handsets? I've always been used to Samsung and their after sales service is excellent. Are there any Samsung handsets expected to be launched soon? Or in general are there any good new handsets being launched from Nokia or the likes? Feel free to suggest your own handsets even if they dont meet my criteria Thanks! Edit: I just checked out some handsets that I liked and are in my price range. They are: 1) Nokia 2255 2) Kyocera KZ830 3) Kyocera SE47 There is some confusion about Kyocera KZ830 as on the main page its model no is shown as KZ830 and inside its shown as KX830. Outside -> http://www.relianceinfo.com/Infocomm/Rim/rim_handsets.html Inside -> http://www.relianceinfo.com/Infocomm/Rim/h...kyocera830.html Can someone tell me which ones the best? I liked the Nokia 2255 the most. The features are awesome, the color (full black) rocks and it has integrated FM. Now my only concern is whether it has the send-to-many feature??? Someone please lemme know. The price that Reliance CC told me is Rs.5299/- can someone confirm? Is this the right price? Check it out here: http://nokia-asia.com/nokia/0,,76202,00.html

Does Changing D Motherboard Need D Reinstallation Of Os?
linuxguy replied to drali's topic in General Technical Discussion
Abhay, infact if it were Linux, say Gentoo, then it wouldn't have worked at all. Gentoo is optimized for hardware i.e. it squeezes out every bit of performance from your hardware ( uses all possible built in instructions available on your hardware ). So when you change the hardware you would need to recompile the kernel to get your system working fine again! While other distros like Fedora, SuSE have more generalized kernels, they would adapt to new hardware without any problems, unlike Windoze here -
i thought DTH could do broadband.....

ya and a public ip, no data caps, no port caps!

See the basis for reserving seats to OBC/ST/SC/NT people is that they dont have the economic means to get lower education as they are more or less from the village side i.e. with farming background. They can't possibly compete with "upper caste" people who have "immense economic means" (as if everyones a billionaire) to go to all possible private tutions. Hence to restore the balance their 60% is considered our 95% and hence they can compete with us on "just and fair" grounds. I'll tell you something, I am from one of the most "upper castes" but financially I dont have means to compete with most people in this country. My parents cant pay my bills. I have to work to pay my mobile phone, internet and other bills. I can't attend private tutions or any engineering classes simply because my folks can't pay those fees. They somehow manage to pay my college fees that too with great difficulty. I have know some SC/ST people who take undue advantage of the fact that they are from the reserved category. Not only did they get into the college with 20% less marks than I scored but they also get all of their fees back because of their "reservation". Here my folks have to shell out 40K with great difficulty while these guys who have no shortage of money get so many facilities from the government. And lets not talk about those self righteous SC/ST/NT/OBC candidates who feel they are "equal" to the "upper caste" and feel its BELOW their dignity to compete in the SC/ST quota and hence encroach on whatever little "OPEN category" seats we have. These people dont understand that 20-30% of all reserved seats are GOING TO WASTE and they are adding unnecessary competition to whatever little 5-10% seats are left for the OPEN category. Oh and lets not forget the progressive girls of our times who feel they need to compete with guys in the OPEN category because getting admission under their 33% womens quota is, well demeaning to their feminity! :/ I personally dont have issues with these people but in all this quota nonsense people with the real problems get sidelined. One day someone is bound to snap and go on a killing spree... The politicians better watch out. These vote bank politics are bad!

whens it gonna be released? -
AFAIK, Orange, Reliance both are following the same practice. They allow you to disconnect your connection at any time and they adjust your security deposit against your outstanding and then refund you. Infact, you can even tell Reliance in advance to adjust your last bills against your security deposit if you plan to leave their service. I have already done that as I plan to terminate my connection this july.
