Unless CDMA handsets show the same portability as GSM ones I am afraid that even though the technology is superior, it is bound to die...

Jammers are illegal in India. I think you need to be a high profile institution to get a permission from the government.

lets just wait and see what Google has to offer...

abhay, what Static said was correct. I just wanted to be sure so I asked you to post the images. See, BMP (Bitmap) is a format where each and every pixel's color and location(?) is stored. So when you save it just as a bitmap, each pixel matches the original image. BUT JPEG is a lossy compression format which means, some of the pixel info is lost. To the eyes, the image will not seem different (lest you use a very high compression factor). So the pixels RGB values differ in the second case.

abhay, why are all your problems SO weird. Can you please post a sample image and the one saved by your program so we can have a fair idea as to what you really mean? BTW do the physical dimensions of the image change when you save it?

I am not very sure what to make of the news. It may just be a prank. Look at this line and decide for yourself. Intel being thrown out? Thats like saying Windows will be thrown out!

Number Portability Implementation in India
linuxguy replied to niket's topic in Indian Telecom / General News
wtf? all they gotta do is add call forwarding when the person switches services! Call forwarding is freely available with all telcos. Its just that they charge for forwarding each calls according to the local airtime. All they need to do is sign MoU with all operators that they will not charge each other in this case... -
oh boy...now it has started... :|

Sorry guys. Seems i have offended some of you. Anyway, Arun, I wasn't stereotyping Biharis. All I was saying was Bihar is renowned for its lawlessness so one needs to beware when dealing with companies / people in Bihar. Again, no offense meant. Secondly, zehirgibi, you need to hire an Indian agency that will represent you legally in India. So I guess you will need to come to India atleast once. The cost of the case would run into thousands of USDs without any guarantee of ever catching the offenders. So IMHO move on. You better check out some other service.

hehe. thats right

yeah, me too waiting eagerly for DTH launch! May be this will finally solve our last mile problem!

those are properties of JPEGs. But why do you care what pixels color values are stored? And how did you manage to blow up a 100KB file to MBs?

India s**ks! :| We need more operators.... The entry fee should be removed! The sector should be heavily subsidised!

linuxguy replied to abhay's topic in General Technical Discussion
eh? i dont understand how exactly will VPC solve his problem. Forget solving problems, it is going to complicate them further. And I have told this plenty of times, what Abhay is trying to achieve is _not_ possible with TCP/IP -

Personally being a Samsung Fan, I have to say that Nokia handsets aren't that good. The build quality is bad except for the high end phones. I have seen the 6030 and I must say that the build quality is poor while Samsung does a great job with their handsets. I never had to go to a Samsung service center in my life...

Network Congestion Rating, Who Is Best N Worst In Your Location?
linuxguy replied to Greens's topic in The Lounge
I feel none of the operators can be rated "BEST" in Mumbai. All of them give below international standards services while ripping off Mumbai residents :|
