  1. Bsnl/mtnl May Have To Share Infrastructure

i assume you are using Rconnect for wireless internet connection, right? And webworlds can never replace your place and your PC! Working from the comfort of your home is something different. And for people like me who earn over the internet, going to WWs isn't an option!
  2. All About Rimwebians

i believe he was making fun of your name
  3. Best RIM Tariff For you?

When making web apps PLEASE try to remember that: 1. Not everyone uses Windows XP with SP2 2. Not everyone has MS Office Web components installed 3. And lastly, NOT everyone uses Windoze and crappy, holey Internet Exploder! Some people out there, viz. me and more fools like me, use GNU/Linux, FreeBSD, Mac OS and other operating systems which aren't supported by your web app.
  4. Awesome Optical Illusion

I actually copied over the image to my desktop and tested it in photoshop! The colors ARE THE SAME! Both checks have the RGB values 6B 6B 6B
  5. Dot Seeks Dilution Of Trai's Role

I too am with SexyGurl on this one. CDMA is the future. Nobody can deny that. The only upper hand GSM has right now is, the widespread network (that doesnt hold true for India. RIM is virtually everywhere!) and secondly, the easy portability between operators. Just wait for CDMA handsets to catch up... Time will tell which is going to stay and which is going to perish!
  6. Heh. Sorry for that Chirag. But the basic issue remains the same and it does pop up most of the times. But yeah, enough of beating the dead horse! It's already dead, mutilated, powdered!
  7. Customer Support That Works

The problem with them is that they have too many customers AND they aren't ready to REALLY look into the matter. As in your case, they didn't really look into the matter that lead to the initial confusion which was later resolved...
  8. Dot Seeks Dilution Of Trai's Role

You know what? I think CDMA players would start getting more subscribers if we had these dual GSM-CDMA phones AND the CDMA phones had a dummy "sim". The reason why people are sticking with GSM right now is the ease of changing the operator
  9. Bsnl/mtnl May Have To Share Infrastructure

adwait, my point exactly! What is each villager going to do with broadband? May be the govt. should get its priorities straight. They should first try and bring broadband to cities, which need it the most, and then concentrate on villages. For villages where you dont have decent drinking water, electric supply, roads, hospitals, schools, housing and employement option, what are people going to do with the oh-so-great Indian broadband? Village which require internet connectivity can use VSAT connections. Check out e-chaupal project by ITC.... SexyGurl, I am all for OFCs and wireless! But the problem with BOTH is that ISPs have to start setting up their infrastructure from scratch. Yes, Reliance has OFCs laid out but its still too small compared to the size of our country! BSNL, MTNL will have to start out from scratch. A big hindrance IMO as the govt. makes all efforts to protect their "navratna" companies. While all ISPs will have to invest Billions of rupees in infrastructure BEFORE starting out their services and they will have to keep initial costs HIGH to get back a chunk of their investment. Face it India isn't that rich to weave a OFC net all across our country! It's possible in the major cities but not all throughout the country at this point of time. The only OFCs we have on land right now are for corporates....... So, DSL is the best option until we get Wifi or OFCs. and guys JFYI, internationally broadband is MINIMUM 2Mbps speed!
  10. This is stupid. Like always, our businesses are reluctant to invest in infrastructure!
  11. All About Rimwebians

  12. Source: http://telecomlive.com/tl/homepg/innercomt.asp?N_Id=6711 BSNL Employees' Union against the telecom unbundling proposal The BSNL employees union has opposed any proposal to unbundle the last mile copper cables of BSNL and MTNL and threatened to take 'direct action'. In a tatement, citing media reports, the union said unbundling of the last mile copper cables of BSNL and MTNL would enable the private players to make huge profit by utilising its infrastructure on namesake rentals. The union called upon the telecom workers to start campaigning against the government's proposals and, plan to organise a day-long dharna on November 18, the statement said. The government has to think twice before allowing the infrastructure of government PSUs for being utilised by rival companies, it added Within one year of starting broadband services, 200 cities have already been covered by BSNL and more are in pipeline. MTNL is giving broadband connection in Delhi and Mumbai, the statement claimed.

  20. Dot Seeks Dilution Of Trai's Role

sexygurl (oh i hate typing that name!), you should've read the entire article. very informative. picks out the good points! TRAI has failed to be consumer oriented. They have not implemented a basic necessity like Emergency numbers (100, 101, 102) and toll free numbers! Even the emergency number (112) doesnt work!
  21. Indian Telecom: $10 Billion Up For Grabs !

  22. Best RIM Tariff For you?

erm...rather than asking the user how much time he will spend on the phone, he should be asked to categorise his use. Alternative we can provide a facility to enter minutes...
