I dont know exactly where they have started but there was a news item (online) and on TV saying that it was Manglore and not Banglore that was trying out something hi-tech.
-
bhutes, that idea of yours is a costly one Remember, this is India, we always go in for the cheaper idea

These kinda mirrors are real. I dont know about them in India but they are a real menace in the US and European countries. Even Oprah's show had carried a special show on this problem. They adviced women & men to carry torches and shine them at mirrors in changing rooms, rest rooms etc.... If the light is reflected then the mirror is ok but if it isn't then its a two way mirror. I guess the fingernail trick will do the job too.

I hope Vodafone takes drastic steps to speed up broadband penetration in India. Also, hopefully it doesnt impose stupid limits like other operators. Airtel's plans are extremely attractive just hoping that Vodafone will make them even more attractive...
-
heh. IPv6 is good but it has many problems associated with it as well...
-
yep. it has already started in Manglore (not Banglore). They are providing 128Kbps connections on WiMax
-
abhay you are a pessimist. Google can setup WiMax all throughout the country No need of OFCs
-
abhay, i use a samsung. I never liked nokia phones. I was excited because nokia is releasing low cost phones for the inidan market which will help the cell phone penetration in india and drive the prices down further
-
cool . Nokia rocks!

Hmm...I wonder what will happen if Google comes into India and starts Google ISP
-
haha. good point raccoon. But you must acknowledge that very few will notice errors in their favor
-
haha. so thats like paying them reconnection charges in advance! Stupid MTNL
-
I dont use Anti-virus softwares Why? cuz I dont need em I use GNU/Linux Edit: why isn't there an option called "none" ??
-
Haha. It's very funny to see Google giving out 2600MB of space while M$ is still stuck at 250MB. Atleast Yahoo! got their act together and gave our 1000MB of space but initially they too started out with 100MB. One good thing about competition is that it really kicks the butt of monopoly! M$ used to give out ****Y!!! 2MB boxes and now they give out 250MB!!! Thats a phenomenal rise of 125 TIMES the original space

wget is the best download manager IMO
-
doesnt matter whether your IP is different or same. As long as you login to your ISP's server you can be caught
-
well said abhay! I am with you
-
Cut them some slack people. They definitely improved on the billing front...
-
Haha. No takers for MTNL broadband I guess.... They are plain stupid. They need to open up the hordes of bandwidth that they are sitting on! There wont be a real "rush" for their connections until they give UNLIMITED downloads!
-
It isn't launched in Mumbai. It will be launched shortly...
-
Haha. Well, it's all very simple really. You flood their servers and *poof* their servers delete all the logs pertaining to all connections Don't ask me how... Anyway, Indian ISPs would care $hit about what you do. Why? Well simply because US of A's law enforcement agencies dont have jurisdiction over here and by the time they actually convey the info to the cyber crime cell, the ISPs servers have long deleted the "offending" logs ^^
-
Bhutes, cool it. Never ment to offend you. Anyway, does the broadband signal ever interfere with the voice signals in a DSL modem? No. Why? Well they are on separate frequencies.... More info over here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Broadband_over_power_line

why the hell are you guys so worried? Reliance hasn't sent a legal notice to him. That letter which he received through email has little or no legal standing. As pointed out by city02, the ISP MUST tell you what, when, where, how was the offence committed. And in the digital world its very easy to escape such charges. This is India after all, someone could've spoofed your IP and misused your connection for all you know!

bhutes, have you not EVER heard of multiplexing?
