Happy Republic Day!!! Please pray that nothing disastrous happens on this 26th. Remember the Bhuj earthquake? Tommorow is its anniversary. The Tsunami disaster also took place on the 26th

I have faced the same problem on some phpBB forums. It seems to be a "post-collision". It happens when two users reply at almost the same instant.

imvikki do you realize you could've crashed the aeroplane? There is a reason why those guys warn against the use of cellphones/laptops onboard an aircraft. I am not joking. I am dead-on serious. The aircraft contains very sensitive equipment which are HIGHLY sensitive to radio waves

This is a WARNING for people who are using Wi-fi / Wi-Max. These connections are HIGHLY, I REPEAT HIGHLY, insecure EVEN WITH ENCRYPTION ENABLED. The hotspot which consists of a Wireless Access Point/ Router CAN BE SPOOFED. For all those non-techies out there it means a laptop or a simple computer with a wireless card can disguise itself as a legitimate hotspot(access point/router) effectively overriding the original hotspot. Thus your laptop/PC which you're using to connect to the internet through Wi-Max or Wi-fi will be fooled into sending your login information to the attackers computer. With the right tools he can easily decrypt that info and use it for his personal use or worse he can use it to get into your PC. Again remember THIS IS JUST A WARNING. So try it to your own risk.

seriously dude, we need to have a stronger network. BSNL/MTNL networks ****!
-
It is possible with GSM phones too. Nothing great about it. They have an onboard base station thats all

Take it immediately to the WW!! There have been many incidents where cellphone batteries have exploded killing or badly hurting their owners! I am not trying to scare you. Thats just what has been going on.

Mind explaining me where did you get this "differential" information? 1KB = 1024B 1MB = 1024KB 1GB = 1024MB ... It has always been that way for both primary(RAM) and secondary(HDD) memory I think what you are referring to is a new standard. KiBi, MiBi, GiBi. Some years ago they changed the industry standard. This is evident only in HDDs not in other computer memory. For example, a 160GB(Gigabyte) harddisk actually has a storage space of 149.01GB. How? Heres the explanation: 1 K in computer "mathematics" is 1024Bytes while "k"(notice the case) in metric system is 1000 units. So the HDD manufacturers actually define their harddisk size on the basis of the following conversions... 1kB = 1000Bytes 1MB = 1000kB 1GB = 1000MB ... So their 1GB is actually 1000 * 1000 * 1000Bytes The older ones were(in the renamed units): 1KiBi = 1024B 1MiBi = 1024KiBi 1GiBi = 1024MiBi

Students must be strictly prohibited from carrying anything electronic. The teachers should be allowed but must adhere to strict rules about their use in the school premises. Same applies for high schools/junior colleges. As for the degree or university students. I think they are 18+ so they can induldge into any "activity" they want YET their use of cellphones or other electronic gadgets must be guided by strict rules. Oh yeah and dont forget the enforcement part of the rules

Chip/Digit are the best IMO. I dont know why PCQuest is rated high. 75% of the magazine is filled with ads. 24.99% has reviews crammed into it and the remaining 0.01% has hands on articles which are like half a page in length. Yeah, the previous text can be replaced by a single word - "Useless".

Deepu, something weird happened! I had posted that text and it appeared under your name

which p2p app are you using?
-
guys please stop speculating. Lets wait and watch I just hope they dont crush our dreams

They can define 1GB however they want. I bought a 120GB samsung SATA HD. It says 120GB but I actually have a 114GB HD Its because samsung has defined 120GB in a different manner. As long as they define what 1 GB is they can get away with anything

I envy you guys!

Buddy, My friend is using BT internet in the UK. He has a consistent speed of 512/256Kbps(Down/Up) and has no limitations

Vivek are you really going to believe a company(i.e. Reliance) after it has cheated its DAPO customers and not its FWP customers?! -
how much are they charging for the broadband with netway? I dont want anything! I just want fast internet access at a moderate fee WITHOUT download limits!
-
yes, deepu, i too am hopeful for DishTV

I dont know who put crap into your brains, well actually its obvious - these SO CALLED INDIAN BROADBAND ISPS.... NO ISP IS CHARGED ON THE BASIS OF VOLUME BUT *******ONLY******* ON THE BASIS OF THE BANDWIDTH(THATS THE NETWORK SPEED LIKE 1Gbps or 100Mbps) Get that CLEAR! Tell it to your friends. Tell it to EVERYONE. WE, THE INDIAN CONSUMERS, SHALL NOT BE SWINDLED BY SUCH PATHETIC BROADBAND COMPANIES!! Kartikeya, I am NOT angry at you. I am angry at those basta*ds who cheat the poor innocent, unknowing consumers -

abhay, yes, dial up do provide public ips. But even they can use NATing. Its not difficult. The only difference between a dial up connection and an ethernet connection is that you use a different infrastructure to connect to the server. But once you're connected to the server, they can do whatever they want, including NAT you . And buying out public IPs is a costly affair. Reliance is capable of giving us all a unique public ip BUT then they will increase their costs. Remember what happened to DAPO customers.... Dude, a 1GB limit is decent. But what do you think of a 200MB limit per month on a 512Kbps connection? Hathway had the guts to do that -
deepu, 10GB download limit it MUCH better than BSNL's 1GB and MTNL's 250MB

Umm...no. My current ISP has given me a public ip. Public ip is a real IP like 64.58.26.54 unlike a 192.168.xxx.xxx or a 10.x.x.x Even though I have a public IP, I cant still run p2p apps like Kazaa or Bittorrent. Why? Because these guys not only block ports but also protocols. Now, I dont want to go into deep explaining you the details of how they block but they just block. Why? Well most of the p2p traffic is ILLEGAL. It means the ISP can very well get into trouble if one of its user gets into trouble. Look at what happened to bazee.com in the MMS case? Buddy, if they block all my ports then how the hell am i supposed to run p2p apps? You know that all p2p apps have built in servers. So if I am running bittorrent then i need the port range 6881-6889 mapped back to my private IP. If they dont map it back or the refuse to do so, there simply is NOTHING I can do about it . So what good is the speed if you can make use of it. Believe me NAT is evil. I know. Very true. Well, if you're calling r-connect as RIL BB then yes they dont use NAT. But the true RIL BB with those 256Kbps speeds and all WILL definitely use NATing. Why? Simply because they cant allocate a public IP to everyone on their network. Since public IPs are VERY costly and they will have to pass the "cost" factor to the poor end user when the govt. has told them to keep the price low. True. Most common port that any ISP will block is 25. I think I will skip this part. I know my ISP quite well Sify s**ks anyway. MTNL/BSNL still have dial ups. I've heard MTNL ADSL will not use NATing. Its good news for me BTW heres is one more reason why NATing is evil. See, you cant run any servers like http, ftp, ssh, game servers etc.. Also, what NATing essentially means is, a bunch of guys are connected to a router which has a public IP so that everyone 'shares' the IP. Now suppose you have this nasty guy on your network who visits pr0n websites, spams, indulges in illegal activities etc... He will most likely get your router's public IP banned from forums, free email sites, free webspace websites etc... Whats even worse is he might invite the wrath of crackers. And once your router is compromised....I dont think I need to elaborate further. So why should the group suffer because of one guys mistakes? -
redshift, which city are you in? Right now, RIL BB is looking good

No, 900, 1800, 1900MHz. And we are currently using 900MHz or 1800MHz
