datawind product comes with some preinstalled application. This shows GPRS and not 3G. So u can call from voice sim which is there. Mostly it will work with tata docomo or vodafone network.

In last week itself, i brought TATA HD+ at a net discount price of Rs1500 from tata sky, under one offer "SATURDAY JHINGALALA" IMHO buy TS+ asap. great price, great software, good CC, and wide Channel range, and of course 625Hrs of recording in HD content. Buy from letsbuy or online website after applying discount code, rather than buying from retailers or TATA SKY outlet.

But when i heard offer. it was cheaper than normal HD box. so didnt resiste myself for buying 2 boxes. I was very busy in handling TATA SKY engineers from last 4 days. And finally connection activated yesterday. Those Technician(tata sky called them as ENGINEERS) are so irresponsible and wasted my more than 10 hrs in last 4 days. Bcoz my preferred technician was on leave for 3 days, and finally he came and provided me service. HD+ is awesome with HD channel clarity and pause and live feature. I had noticed one problem today. If i mute sound from tata sky remote for 15min, then after unmute also no audio comes. i need to make box standby for 5 second, does anybody faces such issue with HD+?

theay have again hiked data tariff for subsbiber, who have not activated any of these pack. now deafault rate for docomo 3G/GSM/CDMA is 10p/10KB

now you can check remaining data usage by sending toll free sms. send sms as DP BAL to 12524. reply will tell you reaming data available in ur account, but it will not show you validity. NO other way is available till now. but this method works, i had tried .

@rachit, you can use PHONE as modem with these data pack, but only with 1x spped. IF u use EVDO(3X) then data usage will be chagred from main balance and not from these pack. this way these pack are better than GSM 2G GPRS pack. Bcoz these pack allow you to use EVDO for browsing internet on PHONE ONLY. GPRS 2G pack gives only, 2G speed, but these data pack gives EVDO(3x speed)
