  1. i firstly agree with chirag. i have also seen STB from local cable operator in my REGION. UCN Cable PVt Ltd, Nagpur. Although box was made by CISCO company, but box quality was not good. after using TOSHIBA box from tata sky. EVEN i didn't impressed with EPG function, and performance of remote. DTH is far ahead of STB, Benefit is that u get additional channel with same cost. Also outage due to rain can't be compared with cable. In my area i find cable signal lost more frequently. The company also launched HD box, But was not having all HD channel (total 7), and they were asking Rs 75 extra.

    @rajan, Even after 1 year,a also after launching 3G in Mumbai circle. Rcom is not taking GSM customer seriously. and loosing customer. Finally, Nothing can save RCOM's ship in Such TURBULENCE COMPETITION . CDMA- less choice of handset, no data pack GSM- Poor network quality. 3G- No pan India presence, or tie for intra circle or inter circle roaming. Didn't won any BWA license. over than DEBT burden.

    if u get unloked REV B, than BSNL EVDO SIM/RUIM will work. But wont give any EXTRA Speed. it will like upgrading modem at benifit of ZERO. bcoz It will work on exiting REV A network only, just upgrading device to REV B wont help u.
  8. @santanu you r right. @ sougata Enjoy MTS EVDO till tata EVDO comes to your town. May be some OPERATOR come up with REV B also.
  9. sory post edited. TYPO ERROR I have seen UBISURFER. if it's available for less than 4k then ok. Bcoz in windows CE with NAND of 2GB, u cant install any external application. it's just TABLET aatched with keayboard. it will better you buy ANDROID TABLET with keyboard case, which cost u less than 6.5K,
  10. i had used these pack on samsung corby handset on EVDO, ALSO checked on samsung GALAXY pop handset, EVDO. both working superb.

MTS is providing higher speed bcoz of LOW network usage. once they reach level of that of PHOTON+ or rcom BB+, then speed will go down. bcoz Even verizon claim in USA that user will get average speed of 600-1200kbps pssed on EVDO with REV A. I do remeber When photon+ was launched in city, i was used to get speed of 2.4mbps, which now comes down to 1mbps. Same will happen with MTS. once more user latch to MTS for EVDO @ Rs98, speed will be big issue.
  12. @sougata i had also thouth of porting my tata number ot MTS. BUT after buying a SAMPLE sim of OMH, and after facing lot of problem with using MBLAZE of my friend i COMPLETELY SAY NO TO MTS for VOICE AND DATA. Although tata indicom also have similar 2GB pack for Rs 43 for EVDO and 1X handset. discussion is here. ( topic is started by u) http://www.rimweb.in/forums/topic/26536-tata-indicom-reintroduces-internet-packs/ MTS is realtively new operator with very less intention for customer service. also coverage is poor, They have make advantage of time, whenever they want put new TOWER they installed EVDO directly. which make them spread EVDO coverage faster then rcom and tata. Bcoz tata and rcom has to identify site, then install or upgrade tower to EVDO, which is comparitively costly affair. Regarding micromax and ZTE. once you use you will find dieerence, and you would say 300C is better choice than ZTE ac2766. bcoz factory unlocked, no warranty void after unlocking, SIMPLE UI than ZTE. better feature and GOOD network and speed

  14. datawind is good abrand and company, i have seen UBISURFER, product is very good, but costly at price of 7k. It will be steal at 3K with 2G SIM support.

  16. it's still suggestion for u santanu and all. It's always been better to buy and use FACTORY unlocked micromax 300c device. rather than MTS branded ZTE modem.

  18. handset having single slot and accept both cdma ruim or gsm sim is seen. but single sim supporting both cdma and gsm network with single handset is still not available.
  19. @ avishek Can u try to rechage my MTS sim of maharsahtra from your place? atleast Rs4.99, to check whether this plan works in maharshtra or not. also tell me, how retailer are entering amount in thier easy rechage option?
  20. in my area also. RETAILER r refused to recharge with such odd amount. MTS had not communicated to it's retailers about these recharges. MTS not taking it seriously.

  23. MTS customer service is worst in maharashtra. They havnt transfer my MDN from old Mblaze to new (oops refurbished) MBLAZE, which i got from service center. I had eqnuired and shouted ar them many times from last 2.5 months. i dont think it's serious about doing business. Once M& A gets approved, they will merge or sell thir biz. Most probably to VODAFONE INDIA.
