I never said in any where that MTS/TATA has 100% upgrade their BTS to EVDO, I mean They cover city completely 100%, not necessarily mean each tower need to be upgraded. There is difference between city cover partially and fully. But for end user it doen't matter that every BTs is EVDO or not. TATA/mts has done cost effective solution by choosing few tower location to complete whole city/town area to EVDO. Sorry no Comments Very much true with 15% of Metro youth, and 0.05% of non Urban youth. Regarding bsnl coverage visitBSNLEVDO No comments for 1/4 or 1/10 ratio of Operator.

@kesav, TATA and MTS is not doing cheating aswhat rcom does(1 tower=1city), I think u missed out this thing, and feeling reluctant for those. By this i Remembered somthing. IIn olden days not every small town/city/villages were covered by Telecom operator, and i used to check out "Coverage section" on vodafone/hutch airtel Tata indicom reliance website. In those days for CDMA 1x means u have coverage, and Companies do marketing like "we are having XX cities, YY town ZZ kilometer of road and rail coverage" I used to see maps, and fall sad about those town/villages where only one operator was exist, and other town where other operator was exist, Feel good that both places are covered by bsnl.So same situation is now with evdo and GSM-3g. Thus if u see on city then it must be fully covered and not do partiallity by installing BTS in place where Most of Market/busniess exist and earn more. Rcom is doing that by placing only 1BTS enabled to ATLEAST catch hold of those customer who for biz purpose need Wireless internet which they can't use at home, bcoz there home is at other end of city where EVDO doesn't exist. WHAT IS USE OF SUCH WIRELESS BROADBAND, then simply for for wireline broadband. Also TATA indicom never put any coverage maps on there website, even on those days list of cities/town with 1x coverage was mentioned on tataindicom website. So no they didn't Do this time with EVDO. Atleast i feel that if MTS/tata given city name i am assured that i will coverage in city Fully and not partially. Regarding MTNL EVDO(i doubt 100% that It had EVDO network EXIST) for bsnl maharashtra i got this listBSNL-EVDO Which is nicely updated but not uptodate. Secondly It's only reliance who do cheating by not covering Full city with EVDO thus the need arises for customer to check EVDO availability through map in there HOME/Office Area, Otherwise Customer once seen map or list with town name never come back whether Deep coverage is extended ot new city is added. It's Only we people who regularly check coverage town/list. For Customer they very very rarely need to visit website for this issue, or required when they buy new WIRELESS connection. So for tata/mts there customer either check with Shop or see list of town where EVDO exist and be happy.( and rcom customer need to check whether company will cheat me in that area or city i want to visit). I know i had used Reliance india mobile from tower which is 20km from me in inital days, 7Km is theoretical, Practially 3km, u can check out list provided by bsnl(link given), and i do not agree with u, Bcoz Closest tower to me in nagpur is "Ajni gsm site/samrathnagar", which is at rented Apartment. I know MG road in Nashik, yes, i agree it's Busiest road in town. Try to get nearest tower location.

they are splitting cities into small town, So count of cities number got seems to be inflated, Just in case of delhi, it's 1 circle with region delhi&NCR, but they count it as 7, In case of pune - it's count as 4, This is not case with tata and MTS, they count delhi & Pune as ONE. So not really exited about it. Very bad experience with me bcoz of this Inflated count- In MPCG circle, Raigarh is town in chhattisgarh, This town is only Having Single tower at Jindal(JSPL), Which is capable of serving only 1KM area. and Plant(tower location) is situated outside city 2KM, So total city is untouched for EVDO, but Reliance count it as ONE city, which actually only Practically 0.5%. Reliance is playing number game by saying 200 cities/town. In practical if we reduce COUNT to 1 for cities like delhi/pune and consider only 0.5% coverage in raigarh, it Will surely fall below MTS, In EVDO coverage 1st position to BSNL 2 MTS 3 Reliance 4 Tata Indicom.

I think it's strategic fit For Docomo to enter into Most lucrative circle of mumbai(very close to for TTML) And to overcome uncertainty by entering into mtnl With ready Spectrum of 2G and 3G airwave. As We all know MTNL is still lagging to add more subscriber in there 3G n/w, So with Docomo, It will be win-win situation for both without any n/w congestion. With relif to MTNL to pay it's Debt(whch they were not ready to take and imposed by govt) Also it's very cheap for docomo and aictel to get Spectum At just half cost compared to rel,voda and airtel(Delhi-3316 cr, mumbai-3247 Cr) In Nutshell So docomo/aircel need not manage 3g network Get spectum at half cost Roaming for other circle subsciber. Possible MTNL will outsource there subsciber to these operator for managing/marketing them. Ready network ,can start getting subsciber/income from Day 1. Cheaper tariff compared to rel,voda and airtel bcoz of low cost and revenue sharing agreement. If tripalate agreement between MTNL+AIRCEL+DOCOMO will resolve there Roaming issue completely, as They overlap only punjab+karnatak+kerala circle. So wiating for this deal to be realized. This also shows that Consolidation between operator is on move. Docomo being Stong player may buy MTNL and aircel in future.

I heard that MOdem provide by MTS is unlocked for any cdma operator. I am using MTS since they launch in Kolkata, with low cost ZTE mobile, anyway I am now using Samsung F219. MTS sent me sms saying data services (1x) are active on my number. But Brew services can not be accessed - "Upgrade your RUIM card"! The CC/MTS Store people have no idea about OMH RUIM! Reliance CDMA is selling OMH RUIM - RUIM holder has a black diamond sign, with this ruim, I tried to get data acceess. But what i got it is RWORLD actually! Modem by MTS - you mean MBlaze devices? MTS was selling ZTE AC2766 and AC2746. Both r locked with MTS netwrk. AC2746 has no RUIM slot. But AC2766 has. That means anybody can unlock it and use it with other RUIM. sadly only BSNL sells RUIM for data use. Reliance/Tata Photon/MTS/Virgin do not sell RUIM for only data access! Recently MTS brings a new evdo modem by Huawei. Very sad about MTS, As WB is good market for MTS, still mts doen't care about customer and not providing OMH card. I have reliance OMH and able to use DATA and rworld succesfully. Ac2766 can be easily unlocked, and u can use any cdma sim. I had tried following, 1) Take omh card from reliance tata or MTS 2) ensure EVDO and Data service is active 2) choose rcv amt which is applicable for EVDO service(Broadband+ or Photon + or Mblaze) And u can start using EVDO from simcard after inserting it into unlocked modem, or buy Tata Speedliving

This free browsing will be 1x or EVDO Speed? Proxy Based or Open? And will it be available on Imported CDMA handsets? I am getting motivated .....Positive answers for above and Reliance can be history after MNP!!!! It will be like this(not sure) Free browsing with EVDO, if handset is compatible, otherwise 1xm Proxy based, Imported handset will require more time say 6-12months.

U can choose as per ur requiremnt, each netwotk has some pros and cons, Choose which best suits u. My peference for maharashta 1. Tata indicom 2. MTS 3. Reliance MTS is having tower sharing in all circle, If ur area is covered by mts, then u will latched to mts n/w, if not then latched to tata network. simple. But in some area mts may have good coevage than tata and vice versa.

I had visited Rural place in Amaravati disctrict, maharashtra, MTS mobile chages it's network to tata indicom CDMA 1x, Also You(MTS) being foreign customer or roaming on tata indicom network, Calls are sometimes not get connected easily. tata mobile calls getting connected, but MTS mobile calls not getting connected 1/10.

No dear, it work only with CDMA network(1x and EVDO) It gives better speed compared to official reliance/tata Huawei 1261/1262 modem, Also it has inbuilt profile for virgin/tata/mts/bsnl and user can create more. Shows sms and phonebook option. Memory card slot avilble(never used). Easy to carry, sturdy looks and design. cons: Doesn't shows, current session or previous session data used. slightly bigger in size, may create problem if two usb port are very near. Overall rating 4.5/5. BEST : can be used with any operator any sim card(OMH/non omh) on 1x or HSIA network.

@Saket, both248 and598 are for Mblaze, that's why the confusion. In the same page the EVDO limit has been shown as 15GB and 12GB Then 248 must give 350MB, or It's for First time user. And 15GB is typo error, bcoz, my friend got only 12GB. By The way these voucher are for those who are having EVDO set like corby/mpower etc. But Any MBLAZER voucher amt can be used with mobile. i had tried Rs248, 2 month ago.

i think 248 is for 1x and 598 for EVDO, Bcoz MTS buzz is having other rcv for 1x like FRC93 (10gb) free 192-250mb 292-1gb 392- unlimited ax 592-unlimited 1x and unlimted calls to local mts mobile. Each voucher is having some inbulit schme for voice and sms. validity 30 days

can we use this sim in modem?

situation here is that Tata indicom network getting dettoriated, and tata docomo is overloded, So no good service from either indicom nor docomo.
