Free Incoming And Outgoing In Roaming Bsnl Bihar
me_saket replied to nayasaroj's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
I got an idea, if some is from bihar, and satyed outside bihar, say kolkata, then he can buy this schema nd use it in kolkata, it is cheper than oofer like rcom/tata providing for STD, also it is cheper compared to postpaid plan of bsnl plan 999. If u r thinking of such offer, then rcom/other operator will come but will have some cap on free usage. say 5000min on o/g and 5000 min for incoming. -
source-DNA New Delhi: In a last-ditch attempt to save the Indian mobile market from a complete walkover by GSM companies, hardware firms under the aegis of Qualcomm Inc will launch a dozen CDMA smartphones in India this year. They will also introduce around two dozen fully interoperable handsets to prevent ‘locking in’ of handsets to particular networks. Currently, almost the entire high-end handset market in India, expected to grow to Rs 6,000-10,000 crore this year, is with GSM manufacturers, with the small exception of CDMA-based BlackBerry phones. Most consumers who spend a large amount on their handsets prefer to by GSM phones as they can be used on multiple networks, unlike traditional CDMA phones that were ‘wedded’ to a particular network. This has resulted in CDMA networks in India getting stuck with entry-level phone users who have average spends that are around half of what GSM consumers spend. “Today, only around 2% of the CDMA phones are in the price range of $100 (Rs 4,700) and above. About 88% are below $40 (Rs 1,880),” said Atul Joshi, chief sales officer and member of the central steering committee of Sistema Shyam Teleservices - the latest entrant to the CDMA market. “In comparison, only 37% of GSM phones cost less than $40 and the proportion of GSM models above $100 is considerably higher at 18%.” Currently, there is only one 3G-enabled CDMA handset in the country — Corby by Samsung. LG, Motorola and Indian vendors like Spice and Micromax are expected to launch more smart and 3G phones in the coming months. To reassure customers that they can re-use costly CDMA phones on all CDMA networks, the industry had come up with the concept of certified “open market handsets” that can be used on any of the major CDMA networks. Around half a dozen certified ‘open’ handsets have been introduced to the market, primarily by Samsung. This year, different vendors will introduce 25 more of such ‘open’ models, around half of them in the “smartphone” or high-speed category. The CDMA operators, who include Reliance Communications, Tata Teleservices and Sistema-Shyam’s MTS, plan to push their ‘3G’ advantage to corner the high-end market. Unlike GSM operators, which require almost as much spectrum as they currently have to launch 3G services, CDMA operators are able to launch high-speed 3G services using a third or a fourth of their existing spectrum. Indeed, all three primary service providers have already launched 3G networks but did not have 3G capable handsets to tap into them, forcing them to use the new network for laptop data cards. Private GSM services, on the other hand, have been saddled with the converse situation — a plethora of 3G handsets, but no network. With the 3G capable smartphones in the works, CDMA operators are banking on stealing a march on their GSM counterparts before GSM 3G becomes ready in one year. “This year, you will notice an influx of smartphones (on CDMA). We will be able to differentiate ourselves due to the better quality data networks that we have,” said Vrajesh Shelat, head of mobile devices at Reliance Communications.

BSNL is ready with OMH sim from september source Sagem Orga delivers OMH SIM cards for BSNL Smart cards for Indian CDMA carrier work with Open Market Handsets Paris, CARTES & IDentification 2009 - Smart card expert Sagem Orga (Safran group) is one of the first in India to produce commercial OMH-capable removable user identity modules (RUIMs), commonly known as SIM cards, for the telecommunications provider BSNL. The OMH SIM cards contain subscriber, network and service configuration data and give subscribers the freedom and flexibility to easily change and upgrade their handset while maintaining their network configuration settings. Sagem Orga has been issuing OMH SIM cards since September 2009. For several years, Indian CDMA customers had a limited variety of CDMA handsets. The CDMA Development Group and member companies such as technology leader Qualcomm seek to increase the number of available handsets with the OMH initiative. Sagem Orga has worked closely with Qualcomm to develop OMH-capable SIM cards. "Sagem Orga's OMH SIM cards, based on the 3GPP2 C.S0023-D standard, contain subscriber data as well as the voice, SMS and data service configuration. This gives subscribers the freedom and flexibility to easily change and upgrade their handset while maintaining their network configuration settings," said Nakul Duggal, Senior Director and OMH Project Lead, Qualcomm Corporate Engineering Services. For operators such as BSNL, the OMH initiative significantly reduces costs related to customer support and device testing, since OMH handsets undergo one set of testing, organized by the handset manufacturer or distributor, not the operator. "On behalf of BSNL, we would like to convey our appreciation to the Sagem Orga team members for their excellent work in successfully testing OMH EVDO SIM cards. We would also like to convey our appreciation to the management of Sagem Orga, which has invested interest, effort and time in the development of this product and enabled BSNL to be ready to launch OMH SIM cards in India. We are very pleased by their commitment to a swift and high-quality delivery," said Ashok Kumar, DGM (CDMA) at BSNL. "In India, more than 100 million people use CDMA technology for mobile telecommunications. With the Sagem Orga OMH SIM cards, there are many new opportunities to improve the user experience. The new flexibility will definitely have an impact on the growth of the CDMA market," said Sanjeev Shriya, Senior Vice President Asia Pacific, Sagem Orga. The Sagem Orga OMH SIM cards have been available through BSNL since September 2009.

Airtel Kolkata To Charge Customers To Acess Customer Care
me_saket replied to vvinayakpai's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
I agree with u, there shud be some free quota for calling to CC. airtel is giving sms facility for contacting CC, it's free, but don't know whether it gives updated result or not? For calling to cc from landline will be attracted termination chrges, or if u give ur number to cc, then he will chrge 0.5/3min in ur account... free unlimted is only possible from office landline, rcom charging Rs2/min, too high tata charging Rs1/min    don't forget to add incoming sms 10/sms, (if u receiv sms from rcom then 20p/sms-bcoz rcom provide 1p/sms ) -
