me_saket replied to Mukeshlst's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers

U havent cleared my doubt? whether calls from tata indicom-tata docomo are ONnet calls or OFFnet. it is apparent that calls between Tata DoCoMo and Tata Indicom / Virgin Mobile are considered off-net currently Dear Mr. Saket, I called up the Tata Indicom guys & asked if Indicom to DoCoMo calls are considered on-net? They said they haven't received any update on that matter. i am having two sim card of tata indicom in which 1 is having free calls to tata mobile and other is having discounted rate to tata numbers. and surprisingly in both calls from tata indicom to tata docomo are considered as on-net calls!!!! and it is controverse to what CC told to me. i like this very much and happy that indicom to docomo and docomo to indicom are ON net calls. thanks tata.

Any Bsnl Prepaid User Here?
me_saket replied to srk006's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
it is for existing cusomer, yesteday i have seen advertinsing in newspaper -
newssource series:source obile users across the country would soon see new mobile numbers, maybe as early as end of August 2009. While earlier reports indicated that all mobile users would be converted to a 11-digit numbering scheme (11 DIGIT MOBILE NUMBERS FROM 2010) latest updates indicate that 10-digit numbers would continue for more years to come. While the DOT has almost exhausted its supply of available number series - all levels from 90 / 91 / 95 / 96 / 97 / 98 / 99 have been allotted to various operators (and levels 92 / 93 / 94 reserved for Tata Indicom / Reliance Mobile / BSNL respectively) the new level “8″ would ensure that there are plentty of new numbering options available, with the existing 10-digit numbering framework. In short, the number “8″ would be introduced which would exist along with today’s mobile numbers starting with “9″. To share an example: the old numbers 9xxxx-xxxxx would exist as well as new numbers 8xxxx-xxxxx. What does it entail? Well for starters those in search of VIP numbers can look forward to lots of new possibilities … Good news for telecom companies too as they can look forward to additional revenues in the form of “Premium Number” charges for VIP numbers!

Cheap Dual Sim Handsets From Lava Mobile With Lot Of Features

what is that? -
If you use your phone just for voice calls and texting and would not care much about handset and being on CDMA network, voice text is main usage and internet is supplimentary use in handset, their is no bad thing in cdma network at all.

Mobile Numbers Starting With ‘8′, Soon
me_saket replied to me_saket's topic in Indian Telecom / General News
I don't think so... What about land-line numbers from cities with STD codes starting with '8', for example, STD code of Bangalore is '080'... And a land-line in Bangalore will be as '080-2xxx xxxx' and there are many cities with STD codes starting with '8'... And anyone outside Karnataka should call with '0'+Mobile Number <as it is an STD number>.. Whether DoT is going to change STD code of Bangalore and other towns... VERY UN-LIKELY... Please clarify, if you have got more details regarding this... tell me atleast one code sarting with 805 0r 801 or 800 except bangalore? dot will map std code and only empty series will be allocated to mobile subscbiber. -

We often see that the second version of any scheme is costlier than the initial one. This happened with Airtel's friendz card, mobile campus card,!dea's gang card,Vodafone campus card wherein the call rates were increased in the "New" version of these schemes. New Let's Rock Prepaid From Tata Indicom For Maharashtra
me_saket replied to me_saket's topic in Other Network / Cellular Providers
how? in my way if 1second billing is providing appox 15% less than normal charge. savings if calculation goes this way, then example 1 for say 300minute of local and 50 minutes of std 75local sms and 25national sms will be let's rock (considering 15%usage in off peak hours) for local 255*0.5+ 45*0.25= Rs138. std 50*1=50 sms 85*0.2= 17 +rent Rs30/month toal= 235.75 Docomo (considering 15% discount on calls and std 1p/1s and with free sms offer) local 300*0.6= 153 std 50*0.6=25.5 sms 75*.6+25*1.2=75 no saving coz daily usage of sms is less than 3. total= 253.5 Thus indicom wins Docomo (considering 15% discount on calls and std 2p/1s and with free sms offer) local 300*0.6= 153 std 50*1.2=51 sms 75*.6+25*1.2=75 no saving coz daily usage of sms is less than 3. total= 279 Example 2(std user) for say 100minute of local and 250 minutes of std 15local sms and 55national sms will be let's rock local 85*.5+15*.25=46.25 std 250*1 =250 sms 60*.2=11.9 rent 30 total=338.15 Docomo (considering 15% discount on calls and std 1p/1s and no free sms offer) local 100*0.6= 51 std 250*0.6=127 sms 15*.6+55*1.2=75 no saving coz daily usage of sms is less than 3. total= 253.5 here docomo wins Docomo (considering 15% discount on calls and std 2p/1s and no free sms offer) local 100*0.6= 51 std 250*1.2=255 sms 15*.6+55*1.2=75 no saving coz daily usage of sms is less than 3. total= 381. again indicom wins Verdict= if ur heavy std user(not more than 27000second per month=15minute of day) and docomo continues 1p/1s billing then DOCOMO is best. other wise LEt's rock is cheapest plan in india(both in term of prepaid and postpaid) for both high and low usage. -
then only option remain is ec325

Updated: 3G Auction completed after 34 days of bidding
me_saket replied to Arun's topic in Indian Telecom / General News
source 3G spectrum: Ministers to meet on Aug 27 Our Bureau New Delhi, Aug. 13 The Empowered Group of Ministers set up to finalise third generation (3G) mobile spectrum policy will meet next on August 27. This will be the second meeting of the new eGoM formed after the UPA Government was re-elected to power. The first meeting took place on July 31 when the Ministry of Communications told the eGoM that the base price for WiMax spectrum may be pegged at 25 per cent of the reserve price fixed for 3G spectrum. Since there were many new members in the reconstituted eGoM, theDoT briefed them about various technologies and issues related to 3G auction. For 3G auction, the DoT offered three options to the eGoM — the first entails auctioning four blocks, each 5 Mhz, according to the decision of the Telecom Commission; the second involves auctioning all available spectrum in line with the opinion of the Solicitor-General of India; and the third is to auction all available spectrum but to just four players, which means an operator can bid for more than one 5MHz slot. -
