We’ve been reporting on various moves NTT has made with Indian operator TaTa Teleservices. Their joint-venture, TATA DOCOMO, has been expanding it’s 3G capable GSM network aggressively in India. But other Asian countries have been sealing DoCoMo deals as well. Axiata in Bangladesh and U-Mobile in Malaysia have both seen significant investment from NTT. Via Reuters What we think? NTT DoCoMo really seems to be shining under pressure. The threat from the relatively new Japanese operator Softbank has spurred them on to greater efforts. We’ve seen massive efforts not only in foreign expansion, but also towards mobile video, LTE and Android. Yesterdays announcement about subscriber numbers indicates that their strategies are working somewhat.

though Rgsm has increased tariffs still it is cheap than other network providers in delhi.... airtel,idea n vodafone are not giving offnet local @50p..as rgsm is giving... offnet call after tariff voucher in them is 60p n they r not giving onnet night call @5p too... n rgsm giving all this @26/month...not bad i guess ... also they are giving dayytime onnet @25p... n if we talk bout sms... vodafone n idea giving 350 local sms@35/month... rgsm giving 500@32/month.... idea giving 200std+local sms@42/month n rgsm giving 400@42/month.... 2 months back idea was giving onnet unlimited@199... but now they changed to 1000 mins only n 299/month u ll get 2000 mins.... atleast rgsm giving unlimited@199rgsm-rgsm n 299 for rgsm-rgsm n rcdma.... without any minute cap.... std tariffs r still low in rgsm... for eg if u hav 100 min std during month... u ll pay 75 in rgsm.... n in other operators u hav 2 pay 49(tariff voucher) plus 75p*100=rs75+49=124 that means for 100 mins std u are paying 124.... more than 1rupee/min.... they r fooling people.... even during roaming reliance offers best tariffs if u use reliance calling card eg u can use 125 calling card n call anywhere from roaming location in india @rs1... temme which operator providing this facility n yeah if u call @night u ll b charged 50p.... superb... u are using ur mobile from roaming and calling std @50p...isnt it great.... reliance is first netwrk provider who is giving free unlimited incoming during roaming in postpaidmy roaming 450 plan"... no other operator is giving it atleast not in delhi n ncr n that too without capping..... i knw rgsm has network problem in some area but i guess they r working on it... when i get connection in feb... i get 3 signals out of 7... but now m getting 7 out of 7 @ ma place... what ever u have mentioned above will go into history after 2months, or say maximum 6month. so till time enjoy lower tariff , once MNP will come in sep09, u will also wish to chage ur operator from rcom gsm to XXX operator.

rcom wake now, Mansoon hungama is over, now market is chaged u(rcom) also chaged to gsm. Only CEP can provide u 2-3laks subscriber but those customer won't stik to u untill u provide good network with good tariff.

what does LAUNCH means for loop telecom. Does that mean only official anoouncment without network and without single subsciber???

all are charginng same. Rs1.2/min. 1800 are free from any operator/any place/anytime don't repeat that it is free from mtnl, then from xx opertor like that.

Any number starting from 1800 is toll free . No operator will charge customer for calling to these number. This is decalred by govt/TRAI/DOT. So don't worry ur bill will show charges Rs0.00 for all call made to number 1800XXXXXX/1800YYYYYY.

u got confused with service tax. Any operator is giving TT after deducating service tax only. if u see rcom gsm, it is also giving TT of Rs88, and u can talk Rs88/0.60perminute = 147minutes= 8866 seconds(if all call end at exactly 60th second) which is ofcource not higher than docomo's 9160seconds so always do calculation after deducting ST.

Dear Mr. Ganesan, Tata DoCoMo is operating on the GSM 1800 MHz frequency in most of the circles since the GSM 900 MHz frequency has already been used up. I guess it should be 1800 MHz in Tamil Nadu too, but I don't have any authentic source of information to support it. Thanks. If it is 1800 Mhz, then they would require more cell sites to give coverage without any breaks. Lets get feedback from users about the coverage But tata alredy given their commitment that "Their coverage will more than any operator at day 1 of launch, and it will be incresed so on" So i don't think they will follow same story as rcom had done with gsm1800mhz, Even Airtel is working on1800mhz in most circle, still it is NUMBER 1 telcom company in india. See what i mean to say if company plans and make strategy to develop network then technolgy or 1800mhz or capex doen't come into picture. Badly rcom strategy or planing doesn't allow them to install more tower, so they ended with poor gsm n/w. Dear ramesh, u saved total 5-6minute, but want to know after how many calls or minute u spoke. So we can know percentage of saving in second billing. thanks

Have a doubt why Tata-Docomo is just giving 50 STD mins as top up . Is 50 STD mins = 150 Local mins ? Even if we calculate STS at 2p per sec, it should have been 75 STD min. Maybe the STD charges will still go up in future i agree, it shud be 75min. i think they will surely chage this top-up very soon bcoz of this reason. probably to 50min-offstd+50min on-net std. (total 100min std)

because tata teleservices is having license vvalidity expiring on 2014(15years from 1999). In 1999 tata started tata docomo, and govt generally give license for 15 period. Now coming back to TATA docomo, TTSL is having Unified licence, under which he can operate cdma and gsm too. thus gsm brand is coming under TTSL license, so lifetime period of tata ends at 2014, and will be renewed as per govt rule at that time.

i think relationship number is same as ur account number for posptaid connection. ask CC and try to enter that.
